Tornado in NH???

Well finally after living in New England all my life.....I witnessed a tornado.

Today at approx. 1:00 PM a Cat. 1 twister went through Ossipee, Alton, Wolfeboro, Barnstead and Epsom NH. I was setting at my computer and the sun was shining (it had been showering off and on all day) then less than 2 minutes later I looked outside and the sky was as black as night and the tree tops were twisting, raining like crazy and howling winds. There was an entire row of trees a mile long that were taken down just a few feet down the road from me. I called the fire department and they were here in minutes.

As of now there are no deaths reported. Five counties (including mine)are under a state of emergency and the National Guard are coming to make door checks in Epsom which was the hardest hit. Of course now we are still under a flood watch. Sigh.

Sorry I havent posted in a while. My dear mother died suddenly last Monday. She died in her sleep at approx 1:15 AM. We had no idea there was anything wrong. She had been out the day before with my father buying birdhouses (she loved providing houses for the birds to nest in). They had a picnic, laughed and watched TV all evening.....went to bed like they did for 60 years, for the last time. She was 78 years old....we had just celebrated her birthday on July 10th at my house. I made her a special necklace that she wanted.....we buried her with it on. I never figured her birthday would be our last day together.....it was only 4 days before she died.

Dad got up to go to the bathroom and he said she coughed and sort of made a gasping sound....then nothing. He came back in and asked her if she was ok, but she was gone. He called 911 but there was nothing they could do. The medical examiner determined it Sudden Cardiac Death. Mom had a fainting spell last summer and did the EXACT same thing but came out of it.....this time she wasnt so lucky. She hated doctors had been refusing to go for many years. I wonder if he has done CPR if he could have brought her back long enough so they could have saved her....I guess I will never know.

Now, I am doing my best to help Dad along, teaching him how to wash clothes, shop etc. You see, Mom did everything for him and now he needs to learn how to care for himself. We are thinking of buying a house so we can all live together or maybe building a bedroom onto his trailer.....he is 83 and really shouldnt shovel snow and ice. We live in Northern NH and we get SNOW, and lots of it. So now my main focus is Dad....we are planning some special trips ofter Labor Day....places he wants to see before he dies. I really want to enjoy every last day with him.

I had just told someone that it was hard to make my car payments. I bought this car three years ago when times were much better. I still have three years of payments.....I love this car though. This photo was taken at the Canadian border in Pittsburgh NH last Fall.

Can you believe America is 232 years old on Friday. I wasnt planning on doing anything on the 4th, but earlier my sister in law called and is planning a cook out after the parade.....so I said what the hell....free food, so I am going.

Free food is a good thing considering the prices....milk went up a whole dollar since last week and I noticed eggs are on the rise again. I am wondering if it is because of the crop losses in the mid west....I bet it is. I am super nervous about tomatos...I got so sick on them three weeks ago.....before they pulled them off the market. You pay an arm and a leg for them, and they make you puke.....nice!

Etsy is doing okay....not a slow as last summer but not as good as I would like. If your needing birthday gifts or anything....visit my shop.....why waste gas traveling to the store. :) I will post my Etsy mini as soon as I am done here.

This a large lot of Woodsies.

I guess this lot to be over 200 pieces. Woodsies are fun for kids to craft with, the projects and creation are endless with these. Imagine a nice weekend afternoon of your children crafting quietly. Perfect for homeschool projects. My daughter made a Pokemon clock with these shapes.

Hope everyone had a awesome holiday. Mine was pretty good, not much presents due to financial issues but, it was close and cozy. I have introduced a Tween line in my shop...gifts for the preteen. I also found this nice heart pendant...vintage 1950s. Its for sale on Etsy. Here is some info on it.

This is a organza and vintage necklace.

This necklace is 16 inches long (40.6) cm and 5/16 wide black organza ribbon. The pendant is over 1 inch wide (2.5) cm with a pretty pink middle. The clasp is silver plated and has a 2 inch (5 cm)extender chain.

The heart is vintage and reminds me of the 50s sock hops, poodle skirts and roller skates. Very fun necklace. This would be perfect for wearing to those vintage car shows, a night out bowling, eating in a diner or just for fun. Very bold piece.
