| hello all, for those of you who didn't know, I was gone on a backpacking trip over Labor Day weekend at the Royal Ranger Junior Leadership Training Academy, which teaches young men (like me!) outdoor skills, leadership, and teamwork, which has changed my life. I returned safely; it was fun, my pack weighed only thirty pounds, there was beautiful scenery, and overall was very enjoyable.
After a long day of hiking on the first day we stopped at the designated campsite and went swimming in the Waupaca River(cold!) and one of my friends was catching fish left and right, so I want him with me for the survival camp at the academy.
One of the big guys only had a twenty pound pack, so towards the end of the hike we passed a farmer's market and we bought a twenty poud watermelon, and he carried it for the rest of the trip.
After we got back to our campsite we cut it open and ate it, carved our camp name in it, ( JTT or Junior Training Trails) and then put a cinder block in it, and presented it to the camp commander. He thought it was pretty hilarious, seeing as last year only had a fourteen pound watermelon. yeah and I had a behind the wheel today, which means I only have one more!!! *yes* *in a Kip voice* alright better go 'cuz I'm busy enjoying the weekend!!!

| Yo folks,
I'm headed off to Waupaca to go backpacking over the weekend, (sweet!!!), while the rest of the fam is in Boston. So pretty much I have free reign of the house.
School was extraordinarily boring today, partly because of the fact that all I could think about was going out of town, and because I was tired from staying up late last night.
Now, here's my controversial part of the post; last night I watched an independent movie called "Loose Change", an excellent picture that provides an alternative view to the 9\11 attacks, based on stunning evidence that the government orchestrated the entire tragedy.
Prior to this movie, I strongly believed that 9\11 was the product of Al-Qaeda, but after this movie I was thoroughly converted to the contrary. Now I really won't tell you any of the movie simply because (1) there's alot of information in it and it would be about 50 pages long and (2) it would take away from how well the producers made the movie.
If you just Google "Loose Change movie" it will come up right away. You can watch it for free on their web site and tell your friends, family, and even complete strangers. Watch it with an open mind and prepare to become shocked, angry, apalled, and ready to tell the truth about 9\11.
Now it's your turn:
Who do you think orchestrated 9\11? The government? Al-Qaeda?someone else?
and then if your opinion changes after watching this movie tell me how it affected you and your outlook on our present administration. | | |
| HEY!!!!Hello all, I almost forgot about my Xanga entirely...
Man you'd never think a 15 year old boy could be so busy... geez....
alright i'll start at the top...
I started working again for my Dad with my sister maintaining the large properties of numerous people doing your average landscaping: pulling weeds, watering, fertilizing, the like. it's been good, I'm ok with telling you I make $7.00 an hour (hopefully $8.00 or $8.50 next year) and seeing the money is rewarding. Still, waking up at 6:30 every day in the summer has its challenges, but that is to be expected...
Several days before I went on my camping trip to Missouri, about 40 students from Spain and France arrived in Milwaukee for a month to attend all our awesome festivals, learn more English, and seeing our culture face to face. We had a 16 year old boy named Alex, who although didn't have the best English was alot of fun, and a 16 year old girl named Maria, a very beautiful and well mannered girl... more about the students later in this entry...
I went to Missouri for an international camp held every four years called Camporama, hosted by Royal Rangers, a boys (and in other countries girls) program in 77 countries around the world. It was definitely an awesome experience, although the thermometer reached in excess of 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Camping outside, swimming, rock-climbing, mountain biking, among other activities filled up the week.
The weekend after that, my journeys took me up north to Minneapolis for the International Society of Arboriculture conference and trade show, where I attended classes, volunteered, looked at exhibits of outdoor equipment, and mingled with fellow arborists from around the country. I learned alot, including that I really don't want to enter that adult world quite yet, just based on the fact that some of those guys were a bit difficult to deal with. oh well...
Back to the students... Maria is a very good swimmer, funny, and she and Beth became good friends, and although Alex only stayed with us for 5 days, he and I became good friends and took him to our youth group... I have to say that after this experience American girls will never be as attractive to me anymore. Not that American's aren't good looking, but out of 20 of the female students 5 of them were very beautiful, and about 15 of them total were pretty cute. i don't know... oh and did I mention the accent is pretty awesome... none of the " OMG!! like I was in Hollister and..." I'm sure they are that way to some degree but overall their sense of style was 100% better than us... i mean our latest fashions are old news to them... btw to girls straight-legged pants are the way to go if you haven't heard...
I'll have pictures later....
this summer I also took driver's ed and I had a behind the wheel session already, and I have another one tomorrow... pretty much driving is a piece of cake to me... in my teacher's exact words I quote: " You are a very good driver, young man..." ah what can i say...?
o in closing my life is out-of-control busy and yeah. I don't know what i'm going to do when school comes...
oh well peace out
