Wow! Can you guys believe that it's already almost the end of March?

Just a heads up on upcoming events!

There will be no youth group on the 23rd! Enjoy Easter with your family!

Also, the adult/mentor dinner is april 6th at 5pm-6:30pm.
if you have attended youth group this year you have a mentor!!!
If you haven't gotten any information about it, then chances are I have been trying to get ahold of you! Please contact me at youth@stlukes.net

Hey ya'll,
Well, sorry for the lack in updating. I had created a website on the stlukes.net address, however apparently it was not uploaded! Either way, I will update this for the time being while I can figure out what happened to the other website!

February and March are busy months!!

Feb. 22-23- 30 HR famine!- cost only $15 for the overnight! friends are allowed! It's at St. Luke's and will be lots of fun!
march 7-9- Happening #80- This one will be in the KC area and is headed by the awesome Laura Cook! I strongly suggest that if you are in grades 9-12 and haven't gone, GO!
march 14-15- Bump City Lock-in! Don't feel bad if you're not in HS yet! This event allows for you to come hang out and have a good time although the highschoolers are allowed to come too! Cost is $22, bring lots of friends!!!
March 23- NO YOUTH GROUP! Enjoy Easter with your family!

Can you believe that it is almost December? Whew! This semester is almost over with! There are many cool things coming up!

December 16th- Christmas/ White Elephant Party!!
December 23rd- No YG- MERRY CHRISTMAS!
December 30th- No YG- HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
January 12th- P3- a new event coming up!! Pasta, Prayer and Play! (hosted by the Luke! so bring friends...more info to come!!)
January 19-21- Miqra! (get those applications in by Jan. 1st to save $$)

And remember YG time changed to 5-6:30pm! Get home early enough to eat dinner and do your homework! Bring your parents along to go to the 5pm service!

Hey Ya'll!

Next week (October 28th) is the pumpkin carving/ costume contest! I look forward to seeing you all there! It's 3$ to carve a pumpkin!

The nomadic dinner is also coming up! It's Saturday, November 10th. It's 6$ and a whole lotta fun! Come to youth group for more info!

Goodbye Summer; Hello School Year!

Hey ya'll-

Hope you had a nice relaxing summer and are able to avoid the super hot heat! This year is going to be a great year and I'm way excited! Youth group starts up Sunday the 19th 6:30-8:00pm downstairs in the youth room!!

August 19- Youth group resumes at regular times!
September 22-23- Fall Festival!
October 19-20- Convention
October 28- Pumpkin carving/ Halloween party

Summer Events!

Whew! Summer is here! Bring on the warm weather, traveling with family, hanging out with friends, and of course FRIDAYS OF FUN!

What’s the plan?

June 22nd-Roller Skating at Skate City (meet @ The Luke 6:30pm)

June 23rd- Habitat for Humanity for those 16 and up!

June 29th- BBQ @ Shawnee Mission Park (meet @ The Luke 5pm)

June 30th- Community Linc- all ages 1-4 pm

July 10-15th- We’ll be at MISSION PALOOZA!!

*edit!*July 22nd- Worlds of Fun (meet @ The Luke 11 am)

July 27th- Power Play (meet @ the Luke 6pm)

August 2-4th- We’ll be at HAPPENING!!

MAY EVENTS!

Hey everyone! I hope you are enjoying spring! This e-mail will cover upcoming events through the end of May and also registration due dates!

THIS Saturday, May 12th, we are doing Ronald McDonald House. We are meeting at St. Luke's at 3:30pm. If you have not signed up to bring an item, please bring a couple dollars to help pay for the cost of the taco meat! The event will go until around 7pm.

There will be no youth group May 13th, So have a great Mother's day...and catch up on the studying for finals!

Camp registration is due May 14th! (for both junior and senior high!) You save money when you turn your forms in early. If you are interested in scholarship money send me an e-mail or talk to me during youth group!

May 20th is Youth Sunday. We will be singing songs. Most of you will recognize them from camp and other diocesean events. So come to church at the 10:15 service and bring your great singing voices! Also that night during youth group Christy Keller's dad will be coming to talk about "balloonology." We will be learning how to make cool animals and objects out of balloons! How awesome!

May 27th is the last formal youth group. We will be having a party! :) Bring friends!

After May 27th, we will be taking a short break during the first week of June. (I will be a senior high camp counselor). Starting the second friday in June we will be doing awesome and fun activities. Check e-mails and the website for the activity of the week. (Also check your phone messages!) We will be doing fun stuff like: going to worlds of fun, royals games, BBQ in the park, frisbee fridays, bowling, movies and much much more! So keep it cool with the Luke this summer and bring friends. It's gonna be a great summer! :)

Hello All!

I hope you all enjoyed a great spring break (or those who are just starting theirs...I hope you have a great one)!
The diocese took a small group of high schoolers on a mission trip to Mississippi for spring break. They helped with Hurricane Katrina disaster relief. Look for Elisha M.'s personal account in the lifeline!

The youth group will be doing R.A.K.S during youth group on April 29th. Bring $3 to do Random Acts of Kindness. If you are a parent interested in helping out with driving send me an email at cwagg@ku.edu

Summer camp is also coming up in the month of June! High School Session: June 3-9; Junior High Session: June 10-16; Intermediate Session: June 17-23

Registrations for High School and Junior High School are due May 14th, Intermediate registration is due May 21st.

HEY ST. LUKE'S YOUTH!

Well, Happening is over now...but it was awesome! I'll post some pics for you all later.

But a HUGE CONGRATS goes to Elisha for being named the next rector for Happening #79! She will be serving God and fellow happeners this August along side Sam Freeman of St. Michael's in Mission and Jarrett Lockhard of Grace Cathedral in Topeka!
