"All Star" Voting?? MY ASS!!

I posted this same rant on myspace.  So you may have already seen it.

Okay, I'm mad. "All Star" voting is the worst scam in the world!! It just went across the bottom of the screen on ESPN and I'm TICKED OFF.

Catcher- 1. Jason Varitek 2. Jorge Posada 3. Ivan Rodriguez

W-T-F? Mauer should be in 1st. Shall we look at some stats?

Mauer: .352 BA (T-1st MLB), 4 HR, 23 RBI, 4 SB, (58 hits, 24 runs, 9 2B, 79 total bases, 20 BB, 21 K, OBP: .415 Slg: .479) 0 E, 11 of 24 thrown out
Varitek: .240 BA 5 HR, 24 RBI, 1 SB, (35 hits, 23 runs, 6 2B, 58 total bases, 22 BB, 21 K, OBP: .337, Slg: .397), 1 E, 5 of 16 thrown out
Posada: .308 BA, 7 HR, 28 RBI, 0 SB, (40 hits, 19 runs, 6 2B, 67 total bases, 23 BB, 23 K, OBP: .418, Slg: .515), 0 E, 7 of 24 thrown out
Pudge: .307 BA, 4 HR, 23 RBI, 2 SB, (58 hits, 25 runs, 9 2B, 85 total bases, 9 BB, 22 K, OBP: .342, Slg: .450), 0 E, 7 of 15 thrown out

Mauer is the CLEAR choice. Varitek does NOT deserve this AT ALL. COME ON, VOTE MAUER! The stats CLEARLY show he should win the spot!! If he played for the Yankees or Red Sox, he would be leading by a zillion.

1B. You know how very little of the time I will stick up for Paul Konerko (lol, sorry Sarah), but COME ON! There's NO WAY Giambi should be ahead of him. Plus, keep in mind...Konerko is the ONLY regular first baseman of the bunch.

Ortiz: .267 BA, 14 HR, 47 RBI, 0 SB, (51 hits, 32 runs, 11 2B, 104 total bases, 28 BB, 37 K, OBP: .362, Slg: 545), no E stats, no games at 1st in 2006
Giambi: .259 BA, 13 HR, 39 RBI, 1 SB, (38 hits, 33 runs, 7 2B, 84 total bases, 45 BB, 37 K, OBP: .448, Slg: 571), 4 E
Konerko: .297 BA, 15 HR, 41 RBI, 0 SB, (57 hits, 36 runs, 11 2B, 113 total bases, 24 BB, 36 K, OBP: .375, Slg: .589), 3 E

Giambi has played 34 games at 1st base compared to Konerko's 51 and still made one more error.

2B. Cano? My ass. I'm okay with Loretta though, but Castillo should be higher up than fricking Cano.

Cano: .299 BA, 2 HR, 19 RBI, 0 SB, (55 hits, 26 runs, 11 2B, 72 total bases, 7 BB, 18 K, OBP: .352, Slg: .391), 5 E
Loretta: .317 BA, 1 HR, 25 RBI, 2 SB, (65 hits, 26 runs, 12 2B, 80 total bases, 15 BB, 13 K, OBP: .369, Slg: .390), 2 E
Castillo: .312 BA, 2 HR, 20 RBI, 4 SB, (54 hits, 28 runs, 8 2B, 70 total bases, 17 BB, 11 K, OBP: .377, Slg: .405), 6 E

These are my main objections, but I'll list everyone else who is in the lead just to show how east coast prejudiced this "all star" voting is:

3B: Alex Rodriguez
SS: Derek Jeter
OF: Manny Ramirez, Johnny Damon, Vladimir Guerrero (I AM VERY UPSET that Sheffs and Matsui are 6th and 7th. Have they even played in the last month? NO! STUPID!!)

Anyway, if you're not an east coast "baseball fan" (which I say in quotes because there are very few yankee and red sox fans who are real baseball fans), PLEASE join me in voting for the players who BELONG in the All Star Game so we can make this an ACTUAL ALL STAR game.

I wish the manager had the power to veto selections. I'm pretty sure Ozzie has more sense than to think some of these people deserve to make the team. Uuugh.

In other news...I love Torii Hunter.  He said he wants to cancel out the 2007 option on his contract and sign a multi- year deal with the Twins.  He wants to be with us in the new ballpark!!

Scott Baker.  If the Twins send him down, they will NOT want to deal with me.  Silva is NOT ready to be back in the ro.  He's an automatic loss every 5th day.  And judging Baker's future when he's had 10 days of rest and they tell the media that he'll be sent down if he doesn't do well.  Sometimes the Twins management ticks me off x733.

OMG, and the UMPS last night, WTF?  Mauer threw out Figgins by 3 feet.  Castro was safe at 1st by approx 6.7 miles.  There is no way that could have been a foul tip strike 3 on Cuddyer since he didn't SWING.  And Morneau's "strikeout" in the 9th was BOGUS.  It was 5" off the plate.  Uuugh.

So I went to a game since I last updated.  We lost.  It sucked.

Since my last update, it was also brought up by Steph and agreed on by several people (including my own parents) that Scott Baker and I look a lot alike, LMAO.  It cracks me up.

Oh, and to conclude, American Idol finale.  The final 2 both sucked, IMO.  I love that the biggest topic from the finale had NOTHING to do with the finalists, it was Clay Aiken's new hair.  He's hotter than you.  I love that man SO much.  Be jealous of him.  I think Sarah is right when he says that Chris is going to pull a Clay and outsell Taylor.  Sarah speaks the truth.  And Chris is better than Taylor.  And Katharine.  Combined.

HAPPY 25TH BIRTHDAY, JUSTIN ERNEST GEORGE MORNEAU!!!!!!!

To the VERY wonderful Canadian 1st baseman- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Anyway, this will be short again because I'm getting sick of xanga.  You should all switch over to myspace and add me: myspace.com/stacymauer7

1st off, until he proves he knows how to pitch, Carlos Silva is on my craplist.  You don't want to be there.  I mean, COME ON!  He gives up 3, we spot him 7, and he BLOWS it.  Uuugh.  *Paging Francisco Liriano to the starting rotation PLEASE*

America is also on my craplist for voting off Chris Daughtry from AI.  STUPID!  Taylor is a spastic asshole.  MePhee is boring and cocky.  I guess GO ELLIOTT, but I'm not watching.

Finals: I have 2 on Friday and 1 on Tuesday.  Then I'm done.  And next Monday is my birthday.  The End.

Crap. What Do You Do When You Realize You're Allergic To Your Lucky Charm?

Haha, that title sounds like it could be insightful.  But it is not.  So a while ago, Tracie found me a 7 charm necklace, right?  Love it, always wear it.  Then the other weeked at MOA, I decided to get a 33 charm from the same place she found the 7.  I kid you not, NOTHING but GREAT things have happened since I got it.  So yesterday when I had a lower shirt on (ooooh, SCANDALOUS, I KNOW) I noticed I have this very unattractive rash where the 33 touches my skin.  And it's like in the shape of the charm (not a 33, but the general shape of it).  Since I'm a loser, I keep wearing it.  Any suggestions though?  lol

Okay, so ESPN ticks me off.  WHY does programming need to be interrupted to inform us that Barry Bonds hit a homer?  WHY?!  I don't fricking care if he hit a homer.

Oh no, so tragedy hit the world on Mauer's birthday...

My singing boyfriend was voted off American Idol.  Tragic, I know.  That stupid damn Pickler made it longer than him.  STUPIDSTUPIDSTUPID.  Anyway, he's going to have a VERY successful future ahead of him.  Plus, he said he wants to hug all of his fans.  Sammi and I are first in line for that.  I HATE THAT STUPID OLD MAN TAYLOR HICKS.  He's an ASS.  Vote him off, people!  I boycotted watching the show because of how Ace was treated throughout, but I am still voting and y'all should too...for Ace's homeboy:

Chris should win it and you know it.  So vote for him.

I have one quick mention.  Remember how I moved out of HELL and got amazing new roommates?  How's this for proof the old ones sucked...I honestly have gotten nothing lower than an A on anything in school since I moved.  Yeah, it's amazing what NOT having someone yelling into their damn phone until 3-4 am can do for your sleeping/concentration levels.

Okay, enough of non- baseball related stuff.

So the Twins won today, which was cool.  And much needed.  I don't want to discuss the Chicago series.  Except to say that Sarah met Justin Morneau and talked to him about Team Canada.  That was cool.

I'm getting so annoyed.  Today in the Strib it mentioned sending Justin to AAA.  Did we not hear enough of that bogus BS last season?  Oh yes, it makes loads of sense to send down the team's RBI leader and co- homer leader.  Yes, let's do that.  STUPID.  He had a rough few games, HE WILL BE FINE.  So shut up if you're thinking he should be sent down right now.  You don't know crap.  I am SO effing sick of everything being blamed on him when anything goes wrong.  It is NOT his fault our pitching has sucked (up until like...yesterday).

Today was cool though.  Johan was wonderful.  Cuddyer rocked.  Stewart rocked.  Castillo rocked.  Gosh, I need a moment to talk about Luis Castillo.  I've been a fan of him for like...ever.  Honestly (oh gosh, this is going to sound do stupid), I have to stop and think about how glorious it is that WE ACTUALLY HAVE HIM AS A TWIN!!  We have a real live 2nd baseman that can field and hit...and it's LUIS CASTILLO!  Aaaah, sorry if you don't share my enthusiasm, buy I LOVE LUIS CASTILLO!!  I'm probably going to have to meet him sometime this summer.  It would rock the world if he did a pro shop appearance in May.

I'll just end with some baseball related pictures because I'm too lazy to type anymore:

Mauer praising Jesus the night before Easter.  LMAO Sammi.

Mauer praying.  YES, I AM a dork who screen caps.

(I think Jessica made those...so mucho props to her)

I won't lie...Cuddyer walk- offs are SWEET.

...so are Justin walk- offs

Anyway, that's all for now.  I'll comment y'all now.

HAPPY 23RD BIRTHDAY, JOSEPH PATRICK MAUER!!!!!!!

*EDIT* AMERICAN IDOL IS THE DEVIL!  BOYCOTT IT!!  AND GET THAT STUPID DAMN PICKLER OFF!!

Yeah, THAT'S RIGHT!  It's Joe Mauer's 23rd birthday- the best day of the year!  One of the few people left in the game who actually plays for the love of the game and not greed.  I read this article where some guy said that no baseball player can be looked at as a role model.  I beg to differ.  Joe Mauer is an absolutely incredible person and anyone who has their child look up to him an turn out half as great as he is should consider themselves lucky.  I'm going to celebrate his birthday by posting a zillion pics from the game on Sunday.  More on that later.

Since Mauer's birthday is today, it means I'll be getting a new countdown thing probably tomorrow.  If you know anything, you'll know what it will be counting down to.  There is a certain LOVELY event that takes place May 15.

QUICK AI update: Ace was AMAZING last night.  Pickler sucked about as much as ever, probably more.  If he goes instead of her, I'm boycotting AI.  That's right.  A world where Pickler stays in AI longer than people with actual talent is a bad, bad world.  Besides, Ace cannot go because it is Mauer's birthday, so by law only great things can happen today.

Anyway, update on this weekend.  Met Jason Kubel on Saturday, which was great.  He proved me wrong.  He was SUPER NICE and I am totally a fan of him now.  Tracie and I were plesantly surprised.  Here's what he signed:

Then we went to MOA to meet up with HEATHA, which was fabulous.  I'd post the pics except I look nasty, so I will not.

Heatha took that of the door Justin signed at Field of Dreams.  LOVE that man!!  Did not, however, love Field of Dreams on Saturday and I am boycotting that store until they remember that it is in MINNESOTA, NOT NEW FRICKING YORK.

Can't not photograph a store called ACES.

Oh, then they have this store I had never seen before with FLAGS, so I went Canada crazy:

(The baseball cards did not come from that store, but they fit the pic well.  So deal with it.)

Then the game was Sunday.  It was wonderful...except for the actual game, lol.  First I met Sarah which was WAY awesome.  Then Sammi met up with us, and as we all know, there are very few people in the world as cool as Sammi.  AAAH, so then we all 3 were down by where my seats were (since dome security SUCKS, lol) and Mauer and Morneau were basically posing for pics for us, lol.  It was so hot.  Mauer was catching Bradke in the bullpen and Morneau decided he needed to talk to Mauer, so he stood by Mauer looking like he was going to swing at the pitches, yet didn't so much as move his bat once, lol.  I think he had to tell Mauer that Sarah, Sammi, and I were there.  Then there was this girl with a "MORNEAU WILL YOU MARRY ME?" sign.  Justin saw it and came over by where we were and signed for all of us.  I gave him my ticket to sign and told him he had an awesome game the night before.  He smiled and looked up and THEN RECOGNIZED ME!  He goes, "Hey!  How are you?"  And then I was shaking.  Dang, he makes me shake everytime I meet him!  Oh, don't worry though...I have about 733 pics of it all:

I want Justin's ARMS!

My scorecard:

It's blurry, but you probably get the point that I don't care for the yankees all that much.

Then the CUTEST PICTURE EVER TAKEN (in Sunday's Strib):

I can't even describe how GREAT it is to see that!!

Anyway, I have more pics, but this entry is getting rather pictured up.  Thought I do have to post just one more:

Baker's wardrobe malfunction from Friday night- LMFAO.

Baker: "Joe, my cup is down around my knees."

Mauer: "Well what do you want me to do about it?"

Best conversation that has taken place in the history of the world.

Oh, and SCREW YOU to anyone who bashed Mauer after last night.  Maybe people need to stop and think about who has been the most consistant hitter for the last year.  Gosh.

Anyway, again...HAPPY 23RD BIRTHDAY, JOE!!
