Heyyy!

wow...what happened to xangas?! lol...i havnt been on this thing since last year, but hey, myspace is down so im revisiting. i have no idea who still actually reads these things but thats ok. i'm not doin this for the rest of the world anyway.

So far summer has been incredible (but its going by waaaay too fast!! :) like it always does). First was Russ and Fran's wedding which was totally incredible. everything looked so gorgeous and it was so much fun! Fran was the most beautiful bride in the whole world and you can just tell how happy they make each other :) i loved it. it was so awsome to see people again too. i got to talk to a few people i havnt seen since doty in denver 2 years ago! so that made my summer right there...well that, along with a few other little things that made it amazing.

Even though coming home totally sucked (im hooorrrible with goodbyes...just ask julzi, she'll vouch for me on that one), we still had the People to People trip to look forward to still. We left for Fiji on July 11 and stayed there for about 6 days. Then we flew to New Zealand for a week, and then headed over to Australia for the last 5 days. It was such an awsome trip and i have a ton of pictures (although i lost my stupid camera battery charger in the last few days!! grrrr!!!). Fiji was by far my favorite, but close behind it was Aukland, New Zealand (especially the last night with the whole couch incident. ask me about it sometime if you want!), and Sydney was great too. I loved kayaking in the fijian river, and the island day where we played beach volleyball and went snorkeling in the reef (although it was low tide so alot of people got scraped up pretty badly. ouch!). The Fijian school was great too. it was really a great experience to be able to bond with kids our age who live all the way across the world under such different circumstances. Going up the sky tower in aukland was definately one of the best nights in the city too (Gift by Angels and Airwaves is dedicated to that night forever!!!!), and Sydney was just incredible. We got to sit in on part of a rehersal that an orchestra was having in the Sydney Opera House which was mind blowing. They sounded so perfect. They played the Star Trek theme song, Star Wars, and music from Psycho. The Australian school was great too. we met a few kids and teachers that we really got to chat with about how they do things there and their perception of america. They talked about tv alot because they are about 3 or 4 months behind our television so they were interested in what happens at the end of the seasons. lol, that kinda made me laugh. Anyway...the trip was a great experience and im very thankful that i got the chance to go on it. I learned alot about not only other cultures, but about ours too.

Getting back into American time is a little hard though. the first night wasnt so bad, but then i fell asleep during the day after church from about 4 to 10pm. which means i was up until about 8 in the morning. i went running at around 5:30 and swimming around 6:30 which was cool, but i ended up crashing around 8ish until 3. so falling asleep after church that one day really screwed me up! but thats ok...im slowly getting back into it i think. slowly. lol.

My goal is to be on a normal schedule again by this weekend becaust its Day Of The Youth 2006!!! in the words of Joe (our fijian...or fijin. haha, guide)..."Alright!" lol. It is going to be so much fun...but sooooo hot!!! this past week has been insane. going from 50 degree weather to 100 degree weather is total craziness!

This summer is gonna fly though, because the weekend after doty is the pocono trip for cross country (which if i dont start seriously running i might not make it to the end of!), the weekend after that is jenna's birthday beach weekend, and then the weekend after that we're having a big church picnic at my house (which of course you all know we'll be cleaning and preparing for that forever so that weekend is pretty much shot. lol)...and then school starts!!! ahhh!! i dont even wanna say it, but its true! lol...maybe if we pretend school isnt here, itll just go away. (yea i know, thats probably the stupidest thing you've ever heard, but hey, its worth a shot right? lol).

Hope everyone else's summer is filled with fun under the sun!

Love ya!
