  • No More Plastic Bags

Ok, I’m not an extremely green person, but I’m trying. Plus I’m making my family try too. I just found these pretty cool reusable bags for your groceries. Now I know a lot of people already bring the big bags to carry thier groceries, but what about the little bags that hold your veggies and fruit? This solves the problem. I got them at Bed and Bath for $4.99 a pack. If I was crafty, I would have made them. But I’m not, so I bought a couple packs. Figure I’ll leave them in the big bags that we take to the grocery or the Farmer’s Market.

Thinking this is actually a pretty cool gift for someone you know that’s into saving our planet. Enjoy!

  • Turkey Day Car Show

Now I know I’m not good at posting regularly, but this one’s cool. While everyone else is roasting a turkey on Thanksgiving, my dad, mom and I have always gone to the SF Auto Show. Now my kids and hubby go too. I’m not a super car fanatic, but I do like new technology. This year we learned a bunch about natural gas cars and hydrogen fuel cells. Seems times are slowly changing and we’ll all have more to choose from then the standard Prius. (Not that we don’t love ours)

This year the kids got to try something really neat. They played a video game at the Scion section. The cool thing is that they operated the game with just a card. Check it out!

  • Erica and Nick | wedding

I’ve lived all my life in Oakland and I’ve never been to the Montclair Bistro, but now I have. Erica and Nick had their wedding there. Cute little spot located in the Montclair district of Oakland. I was asked to find some spots to shoot, but they didn’t want to go far. So I thought to myself, hmmm. There’s the park. Ummm too sunny. There’s the Village…not that interesting and too many people… then I remembered the tunnel. Yes, there’s a cool little tunnel above the Village. Not very many people, not too sunny, visual grooviness. Thank you to Erica and Nick for letting me capture their special day!

  • Mr. and Mrs. Smith | Wedding 2010

Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I think I just like saying that. For some reason I keep thinking of the Matrix, but that really has nothing to do with this fantastic couple. Although, they do have a certain coolness to them;) I found it interesting that Mr. Smith was in Shanghai and Mrs. Smith was in the US. They coordinated everything via phone and skype. Thought is was funny when the Pastor said they tried doing their pre-marriage stuff by conference call. That just shows these two mean business. I know they’re going to have a great life and I wish them the BEST!! Kristina and Timon, thanks so much for letting me document your beautiful day!

  • Jordan’s Family | 2009

I know, it’s already 2010 and I’m still working on 2009. During the week after Christmas, I was asked to photograph a family with three generations. How could I resist? Jordan is a beautiful girl that reminded me of my brother. Always smiling and super smart. My brother passed away a couple of years ago and it just hit me after I photographed Jordan, how I remembered what a sweet smile he had too. That little twinkle in their eyes.  My brother, Larry was a bit similar to Jordan. On the outside, you might first notice the physical handicaps, but inside and through their eyes you can see the brightness and joy that resonates within them. Thank you Ms. De Bose for giving me the chance to photograph your family and your fabulous niece, Jordan!

  • Rock and Roll | A Family Portrait

Here’s a wonderful family of five, I had the opportunity to photograph in the Berkeley Botanical gardens. I know that mom’s always worry their kids aren’t behaving or smiling when you want them too, but in reality, everything falls into place. Kids are great. Just need to let them set the pace sometimes and the the best shots just come. Thanks to Rebecca, Patrick, Syd, Theo and Oliver!

  • A Beautiful Family | 2009

I’ve been very lucky lately with all the wonderful families I’ve photographed. Everyone is just beautiful. This one especially. Two mommas and two kids make this a wonderful family. I was blessed to have the opportunity to capture their adoption day. I’ve never been to an actual adoption and I have to say it was as special. As special as the day I had my own kids. You could feel the love from all the families there. Each one lined up, waiting their turns to become a family in the eyes of the court.
