| I'm enjoying my last day off on this much needed "vacation". I put that in quotes since I did not go anywhere other than Ft Wayne. I played 36 holes of golf last Tuesday, 18 on Thursday, and another 18 today. Thursday and Friday Clarice was also off so she played with me then at a course in Ft Wayne. Fun day, though hot. We had a GREAT turnout for the Hay Ride on Friday. While it was very warm when the sun was up, once it went down it was perfect weather for a hay ride and bonfire. All told, including Clarice's Austrailian friends from work, we had about 30 people there. Saturday was nephew Ethan's 3rd birthday. His parents brought the kids to the hay ride the night before, they were in Michigan all week camping, then his birthday. Kid was WIRED. He was SO funny. Loved all of his presents, the cake, and playing ball with his cousin Trae. Tomorrow I have to go back to work. I checked my email yesterday so I know issues with my project have arisen in my absence. Pray for my return, it is going to be stressful. Four days and then another long weekend as Clarice and I are going to Cleveland for the BROWNS GAME! (and to visit my mom) | | |
| Fall is here. We had wonderful weather all weekend so we got the boat out of the water and stored for the winter. Also played quite a bit of golf. Good times.
Yesterday we got up at 4:00 AM to go over to our Aussie friends place and watch the NRL (National Rugby League) Grand Final live from Sydney, Australia. He had it streaming in from Setana Sports Broadband (ain't technology wonderful?!?!). Sorry to say his team lost. Then we went for breakfast before church. Came home and watched the Browns win. I hate CBS And DirecTV. For the 4th week in a row, the Browns were not in HD.
Anyway, I work today then have the rest of the week off. Is it 4:00 yet?

| Ok, I'm overdue for a post. Life is fine, but I am becoming swallowed by the sadness. Clarice's grandfather's funeral, my struggles at work (don't go there) and now my brother's cat having been put to sleep. Simon was ornery, but he really just wanted to be loved. I gave my cats extra hug the last couple of days. I wonder if they sense my melancholy. Probablay have one last boat ride this weekend. Hoping to get a couple of rounds of golf in as well before it gets colder. Maybe that will get me out of this funk. Orlando for my business trip was less than fun. The sessions were somewhat interesting, but only 1 of the 3 main speakers was interesting, the food was terrible all week, the special events were less than spectacular and the trip back seemed to take forever. I did win a portable DVD player as a door prize, but I was watching movies on my laptop so I wasn't too excited. It's pretty cool and you can dock you Ipod video into it as well. If I had an Ipod video. Oh well. On the way home I watched Casino Royale again ( I love that movie), then I watched V for Vendetta for the first time. I liked it. Very interesting. On the drive from Indy to Warsaw I sat int he back seat and watched Wild Hogs. I had heard it was great, but it was only so-so to me. Funny in parts, but not something I would watch over and over. Maybe it was just my mood. | | |
| Clarice's grandfather passed away about 30 minutes ago. Please pray for her and her mom's family. Jon | | |
