I put Rex in his first 0-3 month outfit today! My little boy is growing up! I can't believe it! There are still a FEW newborn outfits that fit, but there are some onesies that I think have seen their last wear. I'm happy I had them though because they fit GREAT these past couple weeks! Here he is in his 0-3 outfit! (it's a little train on top)

Monday night we took pictures at our studio of our little man. We thought we should get them in before he's too big and not a cute little newborn anymore! These are a few, you can see the rest on our website!

Well, back to laundry and dinner! I'm missing youth group again for the THIRD week in a row! I miss the kids, but it's for the best now. We're in a modular, so it's pretty close quarters...and we have some rowdy boys! I think my first trip back will be for our end of year cookout in a few weeks. I'll feel better being spread out...outside.

What a Week!

I can not believe my little man is over a week old!! This has been the BEST week of my life as I fall more in love with him! He changes every day it seems. If I don't hold him for awhile, I often forget what he looks like!! I love going back to him and seeing him with "fresh" eyes and loving the site!

Rex lost his cord after 5 days, we were pleasantly surprised at that! We were told it could be between a week or two. He also wore his first "size 1" diaper yesterday at G&G Owens' house!

Rex has also had his first...and second and third...bath! The first one was a bit rough on the poor kid, but it's been better since!

Rex and I enjoy cuddle time after his baths.

We were SO thankful for my mom who was able to spend a little over a week with us. She was such a blessing in our lives, and I know Rex loved having Grandma here too!

It was also nice to have Grandpa Sims here for the weekends as well. Rex and Grandpa were able to have lots of snuggle time, which I know both boys enjoyed!

I celebrated my first mother's day this year! It was a great day and I LOVE my little man who made me a mommy. Rex (aka Jeremy ) got me a watch which I love!! My other one was a cheapy walmart one that was all scratched up and big on me. This one is beautiful and it had clasps you could take off to make smaller, so I have a watch that FITS!!

He's here!!!

Our son, Rex Charles, joined us at 2:56am on May 2. He weighed in at 7lbs 10oz and he's 21 in. long. I'll try to keep the story short!

I went in to be induced on Wednesday at 7pm. They insert a gel into me that helps me start to dilate, at this point I was .5cm...I needed to work up to 10cm. They usually insert this gel twice, I was "fortunate" enough to get it three times. After my 3rd round I was about 2cm...They then started the patosen. This starts my contractions. That was at abot 10am on Thursday May 1.

Rex was sitting VERY high in me...you work your way from -4 to +4. I was at about -3 when we started and he was not dropping. I was also not dilating that fast. My dr tried to break my water 2 different times and each time she tried about 3 times, it was not pleasant. Around noon or so I was at about 4cm and he was at about -3. I was here for a long time.

At 4 I got my epidural, it was a great process, didn't hurt at all.  At 6 my dr was finally able to break my water. It's amazing what can happen when I'm able to relax and not feel anything! And let me tell you, her breaking my water was SO funny!! By 7 I was about 6cm and he was around 0. By 11 or so I was complete!

I started pushing around 11:30 and he arrived at 2:56. There was just me, Jeremy, our sister in law Amanda, and our nurse for the most part. I pushed so hard one time that his head popped out so our nurse held his head part way in while calling for the baby nurse and my dr! That hurt so much to have him just sitting there. Oh, and I watched all this on a mirror, it was really cool! By the time my dr got there I pushed about 3 times and he came out! Unfortnatley he tore me up pretty well coming out, so I'm really sore right now.

It was a long process, but it was VERY worth it in the end! I love my son, he is so handsome and we are so blessed! I hope you enjoy these pictures. I have the rest on my Facebook and once we get home tomorrow I'll put it on our shutterfly account as well!

Baby News!!

I'm headed to the hospital now to be induced! Hopefully by 5 or 6pm on Thursday we will be holding our precious baby boy! We'd appreciate ALL your prayers!

Still waiting...

Well, no baby yet. I had a few more contraction-like feelings yesterday. Jeremy went to work early this morning because we have an ultrasound scheduled for 4 this afternoon. He packed his bag up and took it with him in case I go in today at some point. What an anxious daddy. I love him so much!

I have a non stress test and dr appt this morning. I'm just really hoping SOMETHING has changed in me. I told Jeremy I will be so upset if I'm still just fingertip dilated. I'd even be happy with 1cm...over .5 cm!

Well, it's 6:41...I'm going to see if I can go back to bed for a bit...doubt I'll be able to, I'll probably be up walking here within a half hour.
