| The sermon on Sunday by Pastor Paul, "Christmas According to Isaiah" was really good. I'm not going to iterate everything word for word, but there were alot of things he addressed that spoke to me.
One of the key points of his sermon was that "a light has dawned" or has come into the world. There is brokenness and hopelessness in this world because of sin. There is no escaping it, and there is nothing we can do to be free from it. In committing our sin, we recieve death. It is our wages (Rom 6:23). We deserve death and stand condemned.
But the message of Christmas gives hope. In the darkness of this world, He is the light. While there was nothing we could have done to save ourselves in our hopelessness, Jesus came into the world to take our death, punishment, and sin upon himself to bring life.
As we are in the Christmas season, let us grow in joy in the hope that Christ gives. Jesus is exactly who we need.
