    I Hate Making Decisions

Exactly one week ago today, I had an interview with someone I'll call "Scary Man." Scary Man shook my hand and walked away without indicating either his name or whether I should follow him. At least twice throughout the course of the interview, Scary Man got up and walked out of the room while I was answering his questions...I was mid-sentence. Scary Man prefaced two questions with "I can't ask you this, but..." Scary Man ended the interview with "you'd better send thank you cards." Scary Man was scary.

Scary Man called a couple of minutes ago, and they are sending me an offer letter.

    I'm scared.

    The List

These are the things that keep me from missing Minnesota too much:

    • Oreck vacuum commercials...ole Mr. Oreck's from Duluth, you know
    • Land o'Lakes butter and half & half...I actually hugged my butter when I was grocery shopping
    • Listening to Ceiling's jazz band rehearse (Coach would be proud).

These are the things that I miss the most:

    • My family
    • My friends (I need an EricOnTuesdays pun)
    • My talk radio...I haven't bonded with any Philly hosts yet, and the women's talk radio market is virtually non-existent. Thank goodness for internet streaming and podcasts (why can't I download MinnMonkey onto my iPod?)
    • Cycling classes and hanging out with my premier athletes.

    Superman!

I went to see Superman Returns on Wednesday at the IMAX next to the Minnesota Zoo.  It was great, and 20 minutes of it was in 3D, which was corny and fun.  I had a great time; the movie was really comic book fabulous and made a nerdy friend of mine that was with me very happy, apparently there were a couple of homages to the comic books that flew past my head but not his.

I'm on a streak actually; last year I saw three movies in the theater.  With this week I have surged ahead to five whole movies in the theater.  Tonight I saw The Devil Wears Prada.  It was exactly what I suspected, and that pleased me.  Anne Hathaway was beautiful and Meryl Streep was sufficiently evil.

Both of the movies made me very happy, seeing how the heroines were both brunettes.  That is one of the things I've always loved about Superman; Lois Lane is a take-no-prisoners brunette.  We don't get to be the pretty girl often enough, unless it's in some librarian-gone-bad sort of way.

    ------

I took a writing class from The Loft Literary Center.  It was really fun and inspiring, especially since I'd never taken any sort of creative writing course before.  I submitted work to my teacher for critique and she said it was excellent and brave!  How wonderful!  The book we read for the class was great and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in any kind of artistic pursuit (see "Currently Reading").  In my opinion, the word "write" should be replaced with "live."
