| | Well, I personally am a vegetarian. I turned vegetarian when I was 14 and it'll be three years on August 2nd. I love being a vegetarian. It's good to know that I am not contributing to animal cruelty and slaughter. I became a vegetarian because of John Feldmann from Goldfinger. I had just bought their latest album-at the time; Disconnection Notice- and popped it into my computer. It came with bonus features, such as Meet Your Meat. I contemplated watching it, but decided to in the end. I WAS ABSOLUTELY DISCUSTED. I literally cried from watching it. Animals are treated so badly in slaughter houses, i.e.; being hung upside down and having their throats slit, making them bleed to death. Chickens are being stuffed in tiny cages with tons of others, so that they have no room to move around. It's all just very inhumane. After watching the video for a second time another day... I stopped eating meat cold turkey. I didn't want to be a part of that. I still to this day have not consumed meat. I consider myself in between vegan & vegetarian. I rarely drink milk, I do not eat geletin, & don't eat a lot of cheese or dairy, at all. Since becoming a vegetarian, my brother and a few friends have converted to the veg lifestyle, as well. I do hope to become full-on vegan one day to help out the animals a little more. If you are an animal lover, but are finding it hard to give up meat, here's a few things you can do to help them out. Buy eggs layed by free-roaming hens. These hens are not kept locked up & have more freedom to roam around, rather then having to just pop out eggs non-stop. Look into how animals are treated at fast-food restaurants, and cut out the ones that treat the animals unfairly. Like KFC for example. They scold their chicken alive. That right there should say something about the company. Eat less meat. This isn't only helping out the animals, it's helping you out, too. Did you know that eating too much meat is a bad thing? Head over to www.peta2.com to check out some petitions you can sign to help out animals in all different ways. And if you do decide to turn vegan/vegetarian... there's always tips online or in cookbooks to show you what to eat so you get the right amount of nutrician.
