Thank you for all your prayers.
So, yesterday, August 4th around 11:30pm Jen gave birth to a
baby boy. The thing is, he was over 7lbs when he was born (too big to be a preemie),
so we figure either a doctor goofed on her due date and she really was at full
term or he was going to be one BIG baby!
Kurt and Jen had been hoping for a girl, since they already
have two boys, so they didn't have a name picked out for the poor kid!
I guess today they got everything worked out and he finally
has a name...
Talen Joseph Pitterle
He joins big brothers Lauton and Carter in the Pitterle
Family. (Unique names, right?)
Well, that's the update! And once again, Thanks!

| Asking for PrayersPlease say a prayer for my Step-Sister (In Law), Jen. We just found out
that she went into labor and she is 6 weeks early. Her and my
Step-Brother, Kurt live in Arizona and Kurt drove Jen to a hospital in
Phoenix, but they did not have the facilities to treat preemies that
early, so they are airlifting her to a hospital in Mesa, Arizona.
Please, Say a Prayer for Them. | | |
| Sun BurntExhausted. That is what I am. Exhausted.
And the following weeks show no signs of causing my exhaustion to lessen.
Yes, the kids are keeping me busy and on my toes, but it's actually my
fellow co-workers that are causing my exhaustion. I'm so tired of drama
being a part of my job description. At both of my jobs, Hallmark and
the YMCA, it seems to have become a common theme among the coworkers
and I'm just so very, very tired of it all. How long before everyone
realizes that drama doesn't help anything, but rather makes things
worse and conditions at our jobs and we can expect no improvements
until we can all put our differences aside and learn to get along and
work together. * sigh *
Also, for the last two weeks of camp I will be having around 40 campers
in my group rather than 12. Rob, the other counselor I work with, is
leaving for school, so I will have his group along with mine as well as
the group of kids my supervisor is supposed to be in charge of, but
never watches (instead, she goes into her office and checks her email
for hours or takes three hour trips to Wal-Mart and returns with
nothing).
To make matters even more interesting, some of the kids in the groups I
will be getting are.... well, let's just say they have more bad days
than good ones, which not only makes the days less fun for me, but also
for the other kids because rather than doing fun stuff, I have to stop
what everyone is doing and take care of the behavior of certain
campers. * Sigh * What a challenge these next two weeks are going to
be. (Say a Prayer for Me Please).
Don't get me wrong, even with everything listed above, I still love my
jobs and, surprisingly, I love working with kids more and more
everyday. I really feel that God speaks messages to me through them
because everyday I learn more and more and more about myself as a
person, teacher and Christian. It has been a summer of growth for me, but I am about ready to go back to school.
I miss people. I miss Crunch Wrap runs, I miss having someone to stay
up late with, I miss Jake's coffee, I miss Mario Kart, I miss dinner
with people, I even miss watching Pride and Prejudice over and over and
over again!!!! I Miss Olivet.
(Only 3 More Weeks Though!)
And to close this post, a story about my sunburn. Today, our camp went
to a water park. This morning, I put my bathing suite on under my
shorts and T-Shirt. I then applied sunscreen on my arms, legs and face,
making note that I would have to have another counselor help me put
some on my back when we got to the park. After getting lost for 45
minutes and getting headaches from being dehydrated, we finally got
into the park and I was ready for the lazy river (which was my agenda
for the entire day). Before I got into the water, I had Katie help me
with sunscreen for my back, like a good girl.
Well, I did lie on an inner tube on my stomach all day in the lazy
river and my back is a nice shade of brown. What isn't a nice brown,
but rather an angry red, is the beck of my upper legs. You see, when I
put sunscreen on my legs in the morning, I only put it on up to where
my shorts came down to on my legs. When I got to the park, the thought
never even crossed my mind that I needed to put sunscreen on my legs in
their entire. (I guess having to worry about 12 kids and their
sunscreen woes plus having no desire except to get in the water will
make you forget such details). Silly me, I'll never make that mistake
again.
So, now I am very, very, very sun burnt and it hurts to sit or lay on my back.
The End
I'm going to go to bed.

| Thaddues
*Copied and Pasted from my Bloop*
So, while I wait for the rest of my permission slips for my
campers to finish printing, it's time for a quick update about my car,
Thaddeus.
This past weekend I drove up to Jon to get my air
conditioner fixed (it hasn't worked in two years). My Friday started out with
me being the only counselor for groups 1-5. Meaning Me vs. 70 kids. Yup.... 70.
With a few purple sheets home to parents, a more than few time outs, and one
vomit clean up, I survived the day actually in high spirits.
As I left work, I prepared myself for the two and a half
hour drive I had from Plainfield to Jon's house
in Champaign. I
hopped on I-55 and was doing pretty well until about 5 minutes later when I
hit... *Bum Bum Bum* construction traffic. The construction was four miles
ahead of me and I at first decided to wait it out. An hour later of sitting in
said traffic, I had only moved a mile and a half and decided to call my parents
and find an alternate route. So, I get off the expressway and call my parents who inform
me that I have to make turns onto two roads to get me past the traffic and back
onto the interstate. I made the turn onto the first road fine, but the second
is where I got messed up. A little agitated that it had taken me two hours to
go only 15 minutes from my house, I was concentrating on finding the road more
than anything until I saw a cop. Not really knowing what the speed limit was I
slowed down and my heart did a little flip... until the cop pulled a U-turn
sending me into a full panic. The cop followed me for some way and then turned
onto another street, much to my relief.
Turns out, in my panic however, I had missed the second
street I had to turn onto! Getting more and more frustrated, I called my
parents again for another route. I was told to stay on the road I was on, hop
onto I-55 and back track North until the exit to go to Wilmington. Figuring having to backtrack 10
or 15 minutes wasn’t so bad, I continued on my course, found the interstate and
began heading north. Forty five minutes later, I was still back tracking north
and waiting for my exit. Three hours after leaving work, I finally got to my
exit. (A drive that usually takes about 15 minutes).
The rest of my drive was pretty uneventful. My car started
violently shaking if I went above 65mph due to my lumpy tire, it started to
rain and I got a nice blister on the back of my foot from driving 5 hours
straight (and not having cruise control), but at least I got to Jon's in one
piece!
Of course, Jon was prepared with Roses and Chocolate for me
when I (finally) got to his house. Two things that were definitely welcome
after a drive like that.
The rest of the weekend was nice. Jon and I spent some time
together and with his family. Thaddeus not only got his air conditioner fixed,
but also got a new tire, a new water pump, a full tank of Ultimate gas and
washed (he is one of the happiest cars out there) I was also a very happy
camper because Jon's dad was able to install all of the above parts for free
and I didn't even have to pay labor costs (although I did get his dad a $100
gas card as a thank you... he probably saved me at least $1,000).
Sunday night, just as I was leaving Jon's for the drive
home, I decided it was too beautiful of a night for the air conditioning and
decided to roll down the windows and enjoy the breeze. Good thing I did because
just as I turned off the air conditioner, Thaddeus started making a
not-so-happy noise and started smoking! Jon and I got his dad out to my car and
he determined that when my air was turned off, a part of the air conditioner
moved over and was rubbing against my car causing the noise and the smoke (in
layman's terms).
Unfortunately, there was no way for him to fix it without
his tools back at his work, so I ended up staying at Jon's again Sunday night
and went in Monday morning at 7:00am to have Thaddeus fixed (for the last time
I hoped!)
Once Thaddeus had been readjusted he was again very happy
and I was finally able to get back on the road and drive straight from Champaign to work. This
time the drive took me the actually two and a half hours rather than five and I
arrived at work only 45 minutes late.
That is all the update I have time for for now.
I really have to
sleep... it's going to be a very, very, VERY long day tomorrow (I'll update
about camp and such another time).
Please say a prayer for me to have patience and a strong
stomach tomorrow!
Night.
