Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire : What Happens When God's Spirit Invades the Hearts of His People
By Jim Cymbala, Dean Merrill

WOW!!! It has been a long time since I have posted on this thing. Things have been going wonderful for me. There are still the struggles and temptations that are lurking at every turn, but I am continuing to stand strong with the Lord and endure through them. God is awesome!

Right now I am reading this Jim Cymbala book. I look it very much. The consistent dedication he makes to prayer for himself, family, and the church convicts of my inadequacy in this area.
I love my job at the church, and am growing daily through it. One quote Cymbala had in his book was a great depiction of God's power through our weaknesses "God is attracted to weakness. He can't resist those who humbly and honestly admit how desperately they need Him. Our weakness, in fact, makes room for His power." I am excited to see what else the Lord is going to show me through this book.

There are still a good bit of challenges, and ministry can be frustrating sometimes. But a while back a friend of mine gave me this quote, and it has endured me through lots of struggles in ministry: "It is not our loved for ministry that should propel us, for sometimes ministry is difficult and unpleasant. That which keeps us going is always and only the love of Jesus." On days that ministry is tough, I sit and read that quote over and over and over and over again because it reminds I do all things for His glory and His alone! I love the students at Coggin. I look forward to seeing my small group on Wednesdays every week (you can ask Molly)! I am so excited about watching some of these students grow and mature as they get older. The one area I do need help in, is just knowing what my position is and where I fit in. Sometimes I struggle, but hey that is what ministry is all about!

So I am almost done the 6th book in the Narnia series. I love it! The amount of religious symbolism that Lewis puts in his book is amazing! I love it because he pulls you into the emotions of the character and you really gain a sense of understanding how some biblical characters felt like Peter and Thomas. It blows my mind the way Lewis can do this, but hey that is why he is a genius and I am not! I can't wait to finish this series.

On a lighter note, HPU is getting crazy krunk in Basketball. The guys are like 15-3. I am going to go to the game today at 3! Holla! Anyways, too bad I can't play basketball, or any sport at that matter.

I want to update you all on relationship with my dad. He and I spent some time together over the Christmas break and talk often now. It makes me in awe of the healing power of God to see my dad and I talking again. I love him very much and am excited to know that I won't have to explain to my children where their grandpa is.

Also, things with Molly are going great! She continues to challenge me and encourage me daily. Seeing her around campus makes me smile from ear to ear! She is a great gal...way cooler than I could ever dream of being; however, that might not be saying much...jk! She is Austin this weekend doing some good 'ol shopping. TOY!

Well I have rambled on long enough...last night I went bowling and beat Emily Tittle...much to her dismay...but hey everyone should come see the musical Annie this weekend. I think it is going to be a-mazing! Break a leg you Bwood thesbians!

I hope you have a great day! May the Lord bless you and grow you closer to Him!
