LOVE IS AN UNEXPLAINABLE FEELING IS IT NOT?

LOVE… THAT STRANGE FEELING WE GET THAT MAKES US DO THE STRANGEST THINGS SOMETIMES. EVEN THINGS WE KNOW ARE WRONG. NO ONE CAN TELL YOU WHO TO LOVE OR HOW, IT JUST COMES OVER YOU LIKE A WARM BLANKET ON A COLD WINTER NIGHT. THERE IS NO REAL WRITTEN LAW THAT GUIDES US IN HOW WE FEEL OR WHO WE HAVE THOSE FEELINGS FOR. WE SIMPLY MUST FOLLOW OUR HEART. SOMETIMES EVEN OUR HEARTS CAN TAKE US ON A PERILOUS JOURNEY. SO MANY TIMES THERE ARE THOSE THAT HAVE UNDENIABLE FEELINGS FOR OTHERS WHEN THEY KNOW IT IS WRONG AND IMPOSSIBLE TO WORK OUT. YET NO MATTER HOW HARD THEY TRY TO AVOID SHOWING IT SOONER OR LATER THE INEVITABLE HAPPENS. PERHAPS IT WILL TURN OUT OK OR PERHAPS DISASTEROUS. WITH THIS IN MIND OUR HEARTS STILL TAKE OVER AND LEAD US STRAIGHT DOWN THIS FORBIDEN PATH. SOMETIMES WE ARE BLINDED BY THE OPPOSITE OF LOVE, "LUST". LUST TRIES TO MAKE US FEEL IT IS LOVE WHEN IN REALITY IS NOTHING OF THE SORT. OH... WHAT RISK WE ARE WILLING TO TAKE. SOME HAVE EVEN LOST THEIR LIVES FOR ONE OR THE OTHER. SOME FIND THEMSELVES INCARCERATED AS THEY SUCOMMED TO THE OVER POWERING DESIRE TO HAVE WHAT THEY COULD NOT. FAMILIES WHERE DESTROYED HOMES BROKEN UP, CHILDREN SEPERATED FROM THE PARENTS THAT BROUGHT THEM INTO THIS WORLD. ALL FOR WHAT? THERE ARE THOSE THAT ARE WILLING TO RISK IT ALL FOR LESS. LESS, BEING PERHAPS A MAN OR WOMAN THAT HAS LESS TO OFFER THAN ANOTHER THAT TRULY LOVES THEM. LESS BEING A MAN OR A WOMAN THAT HAS THEIR PRIORITIES COMPLETELY IN DISARRAY. PERHAPS THEY PREFER GAMBLEING OVER SECURITY OR PERHAPS EVEN DRUGS. PERHAPS THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO GIVE SHOULD YOUR LIFE ALL OF A SUDDEN FALL APART. YET IT MATTERS NOT. ALL YOU KNOW IS YOUR HEART TELLS YOU THIS IS WHO AND WHAT I WANT. SO MANY TIMES HAVE I SEEN FIRST HAND BEAUTIFUL WOMAN THAT COULD SO EASILY HAVE THEIR PICK AMONG HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF MEN. YET THEY SEEM TO RUN AWAY FROM WHAT THEY KNOW IS LOVE AND RUN TO THE GUY THAT ONLY WANTED THAT ONE THING AS THEY SO OFTEN PUT IT. A GUY THAT NEVER THINKS OF THEM UNTIL HE WANTS THAT ONE THING AGAIN. A GUY THAT IS ALL BOUT HIMSELF MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE. A GUY THAT IS ABUSIVE AND MISTREATS THEM.  A GUY THAT CAN THINK OF A MILLION THINGS TO DO BUT SPEND TIME WITH THE ONE HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE IN LOVE WITH. NEVER THE LESS THIS BEAUTIFUL WOMAN WILL STAY BY HIM BELIEVING THIS IS THE BEST SHE CAN DO. THIS SAME SENARIO APPLIES TO MEN AS WELL. OH THE SACRIFICES WE ARE SO WILLING TO MAKE IN THE NAME OF LOVE. OH THE PAIN SO MANY HAVE KNOWN OVER THIS SUPPOSED TO BE MAGICAL FEELING. NO ONE WILL EVER BE ABLE TO EXPLAIN IT, WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO, WHY WE FEEL WHAT WE FEEL.  NO ONE CAN TELL YOU WHAT YOUR HEARTS DOES OR DOES NOT WANT OR NEED. NO ONE CAN TELL YOU IF IT IS RIGHT OR WRONG. BECAUSE WHEN IT COMES RIGHT DOWN TO IT… THERE IS NO WRONG IN…I LOVE YOU.

YOUR COFFEE CUP

 

 

A little food for thought with your morning coffee:

A group of alumni, all highly established in their respective careers, got together for a visit with their old university professor.

The conversation soon turned to complaints about the endless stress of work and life in general.

Offering his guests coffee, the professor went into the kitchen and soon returned with a large pot of coffee

and an eclectic assortment of cups:

Porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal -- some plain, some expensive, some quite exquisite.

Quietly, he told them to help themselves to some fresh coffee.

When each of his former students had a cup of coffee in hand, the old professor quietly cleared his throat

and began to patiently address the small gathering.

"You may have noticed that all of the nicer looking cups were taken up first,

Leaving behind the plainer and cheaper ones. While it is only natural for you

To want only the best for yourselves, that is actually the source of much

of your stress-related problems."

He continued, "Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee.

In fact, the cup merely disguises or dresses up what we drink.

What each of you really wanted was coffee, not a cup, but you instinctively went for the best cups.

Then you began eyeing each other's cups."

"Now consider this: Life is coffee. Jobs, money, and position in society are merely cups.

They are just tools to shape and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not

truly define nor change the quality of the Life we live."

"Often, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee."

"Remember, the coffee is brewed, but you supply the cups."

"Enjoy your coffee!"

The happiest people don't have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have.

So please remember:

Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.

The richest person is not the one who has the most, but the one who needs

the least.


I'm thankful for the special flavor all of you add to my coffee.
