| once it was said by a majority of the people in the world:
How can u believe such a crazy "scientist" that believes we revolve
around the sun...can you honestly believe that we are not the center of
the solar system or even universe? we are such an amazing creation, and
unique to the universe!
Now a majority say, oookay, there was some misunderstanding, but now we
know what is important, and the trivial fact that we revolve around the
sun is true, buut, can you honestly believe we were made by some chance
not involving an all mighty creator? (The questions can always
change like this)
I was just thinking about this today after reading geo's xanga, and
thinking that the Bible is not just one book that is a
"best-seller." It is many books, that have changed over the years
to make more sense to our society...to pertain to our modern,
science-dependent society. The idea of science being so false
appears inconsistent, and our "complexity" does not seem to be only
plausibly justified by God.
HOWever, it depends how one defines God, some define God as one that is
completely intangible. I mean to say, I completely agree with the
idea that it is plausible our creation was by something that is
completely beyond our comprehension and cognitive grasp, but that could
be anything...from a Big Bang, to an alien race so advanced we would
not be able to understand their existence, to God, to several
gods. I am not arguing any beliefs here, just presenting a
perspective that I think is often rejected and denied blindly.
In conc...every1 can believe whatever they want to believe, buut it sux
when certain peoples ideas are closed out to make room for others.

Yaaa...iono, it was on an LJ ok, so thats that

| OK so's i went home for the weekend which was perty cool. Robert
drove me and lauren home from Davis with georges company and we got
Biancas which has been missed by my taste buds MMM. Then we
chilled at Laurens and continued the tradition of card playage and
smashing each others faces WHICH was also missed and schweet to relish
in again.
Howevs, i had to study over the weekend which was
wat i expected to do most of it anyways, which kinda sucked, but
I got to ride my moto as a break which was friggin schweet. It is a
good place to feel free and relax. AND the bike actually worked
when I got home and started almost immediately with a little help from
me, my hill, and gravity, YEUP. O and I got to eat some good food
at Laurens house n stuff. For the times I wanted to eat at home
though I went out to the grocery store and bought some stuff cuz mi
padres werent home.
So lauren and i went to Safeway, and we walked
through the doors that they were about to lock, u kno on the left side,
that they do at night. AND It made no sense cuz they were like GO
AROUND right when we walked through, but there was no reason cuz they
hadnt closed em yet, and when we went through one safeway girl said
"god damn y'all!!" WHOA, that not good stuff to say to customers
or any1 for nothin, just goes to show how some employees really feel
behind their fake "can i help you sir" working shell.
SO, moving on, we also went to the mall this on
Monday and ate a huge FRIGGIN fat whole pizza from Sbarros or w/e its
called at Sunvalley cuz of GEO's challenge. I definitely
underestimated the power of the "super slice." BERT won the
challenge btw, finishing both his SUPER POWER SLICES. So geo, me
and bert were all fat after that and our legs became week with
tiredness so when we got back in the car after shopping it was like
this: AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW YAAAAAAAAAAA, SOOOO GOOOOD.
THEN we went to Rasputens and looked in there for about three days, and
I found my dad some cool jazz that he wanted, and geo bought bout 7
CD"s or somethin, but a couple of em were RObert's..
today was busy, i woke up, ate breakfast, studied
some, went with Lauren to broadway plaza n I got present for the
"secret santa" thing we doin at college. FRIGGIN HARD to shop for
people u don't kno very well. Anywho, we also went to Barnes n
Noble and I tried to read about some comp programming and looked at
this book about the universe for like two sex. Then right after
that, went back to Laurens, ate a helza good sandwich, sped back to my
house, got all my stuff together, and drove back to Davis. THEN
THE MAIN PART OF MY POST STORY...why I thought of posting to begin with:
Bout twenty minutes after arriving Lauren heard some sounds like
firecrackers, like 7 or so pops, but thought it was nothin, and soon
after that when I walked to Laurens side of the hall, I heard sirens,
but I hear sirens here just bout every day, so I thought nothin of
it. However, it turns out that someone got shot about a hundred
yards from my dorm room today, and he or she was killed. This
happened just about 4 hours ago. At first, all I heard was that
someone was shot near my dorm, and I didn't think much of it. I
thought it may not be true, or it was really something else that people
heard or IONO. Then I biked with Lauren to her engineering
review, and soon as we started bikin I saw a firetruck, ambulance and
lots of cop cars, not to mention a motionless body on the lawn in front
of some residence hall. On returning from leaving Lauren from her
engineering review, I saw a floormate sitting on the curb and so I
stopped and asked why she was sitting alone. She said she was
praying. So I sat there and thougth for a bit while she
prayed. It sent shivers down my spine to see the person dead,
lying on the ground, everyone just working around him as if he were any
other inanimate object I've only seen a human corpse once b4 and didn't
like seeing it, but I never saw one like this (even though it was from
a distance of like 40 yards, iono). Anyways, I wondered what my
floormate was praying for or about. AND after hearing a few
people talk bout where the body was and such, I thought, why do people
say "the body." A few minutes ago it would've been "he is dieing
over there." It's not "there he is, dead" but, "there's his
body." We usually say it as if we possess a body. Does
that mean that almost everyone believes that "we" or "I" is only
in reference to some spirit or soul, or is just our particular
vernacular? I mean, whether religious or not, I think most people
refer to a dead person as "the body." On one side, it seems
illogical. Why would it not still be him or her? There they
are with their body that controls their motion, their brain that
controls their thoughts, etc. Or do most think the body and brain
create the actual us and when we die, "we" arent part of the body and
brain anymore? Anyways, on the other side, I understand why one
might say "the body," at least why I would...
When I saw someone who had died, it was shocking and
unreal sorta because I didn't see "them" in the body. It makes
someone look just like any other animal or living thing that has died,
not like the actual person. There are no expressions, no
anything...I'm not sure how to explain it, but it is very odd.
I'm just saying when I think about it, it is also strange that people
often say "the body" as if the one who possessed the body was somewhere
else, even people who are/aren't religious/spiritual. Anyways,
just some food for thought...I also wonder why the person did this to
themselves. Did they want suicide by cop? Anywho...this is a
friggin long post, so...END

| sooo i made this biggish post about the comments on gommz page, but
accidently deleted it, so i'll just sum it up: such generalizations are
lame, obviously are lives are not completely defined by science nor
faith...neither is the sole thing that keeps us going, for some people
they both do. to say
darkness doesn't exist or something like that is inaccurate because it
is just a name for a definition. To say evolution does not exist cuz
you cant see it is lame too. Evolution is something believed
through science and facts, not faith. AND arguing
God's existence is inconclusive, as it is just arguing one opinion
against another about a very broad and vague topic. This quote
from that
professor/student debate is lame: "The link between man & God is
FAITH. That is all that keeps things moving & alive." It
seems like that convo was not so much a real event as someones paper
that had a thesis defending faith. Not
every1 embraces faith and they live. Not everything is based on
just one idea. I think religion is linked to science in a lot of
ways. BASICALLY, people can believe whatever they want.
Maybe science is always completely correct (though it seems there have
been things that were wrong), and maybe everyting about religion is
valid (though there have been obvious inconsistencies), and MAYBE
neither one is the accurate, completely right, dominator of the
universe. UGH, there is so much to this argument, but I don't
feel like puttin it all out there right now.
