We Interrupt Your Poetry Reading...

for a brief moment. Last week I went to Phoenix Arizona, more specifically, Tempe. My daughter (who is 22) graduated from ASU (arizona state university), and my son and I went to be with her while she performed the final ritual of her four year journey and adventure at ASU. I have many pictures to post, however, I'm only getting them a few at a time, so bear with me if you will, while I bask in my own pride of her accomplishments. My daughter attended a all-girl catholic college prep school, although she wasn't catholic, just because she wanted the schooling. She's always known what she wanted, and even though she's changed her path a little bit, she's found the way to get it exactly how she's wanted it. She decided on physics early in high school, and chose ASU because of their program. She's worked her way through university, and borrowed with loans, but my money was something she asked for very little of. This is her life, and she wants to do it herself.
Justice graduated Summe Cum Laude and also with Honors from Barrets Honor College which is part of ASU. She is working on a research paper with a scientist at ASU which will be published and include her name, and then she's off to the Peace Corps. I plan to live vicariously through her for many years.

Here she is having passed the dean of her department to shake hands and accept the rolled item from the dean of the university. See that big cheesy grin? She's so freaking happy. She is now an astrophysicist with a degree.

Here she is after the 3 hour madness of graduation with two of her best friends. Mark on the left is one of her students (she teaches too) and Tim on the right has already graduated and he teaches and also runs a care center for children who have been abused. He's an exceptional boy that Tim, knows several languages and wears his heart on his sleeve.

This is my daughter with her ex-fiancee. They were together three years. Yep, he blew it. He knows it too. He's really sorry. He's been relegated to 'friend' status. I love him to bits, but I'm proud that my daughter has made a stand about what she thinks is right and wrong, and that she knows what she wants in a relationship. He graduated last year, a physicist also. BTW-that beautiful lei she is wearing cost $20.00! So did that little boquet! 10,000 students and those florists are rolling in the green. I'm in all the wrong job fields.

Justice and her brother Joshua. This is much later back at the house where she lives, which is really a villa. She looks a little rough now doesn't she? We've been drinking and carousing. People we don't even know come up and congratulate her. She won't take off the robe. It cost her $30.00 dammit! She plans to wear it until late into the evening! She does too.

This little birdie was singing in the trees in the backyard and deserved a little photo-attention. I wanted a picture of the doves but they were deep in the leaves of the palms and orange trees.

Brother was wore out after all of that. He snoozed on the loveseat with Justices' little cat Pixel. Pixel is Devonshire Rex. She loves Josh. Pixel will be moving in with us when Justice goes abroad for the Peace Corps. Well now. I'm only getting a few pics a day from Justice because they take up so much room in the mail and she doesn't want to resize them. So...for today, that will be all. I expect I'll have more tomorrow.
