| Work!!!So I went to the Cattle Decapitation show, and they were sick...positively amazing. But Ryknow gave a speech before their set that kinda changed shit up. He announced that it was the last Blue Rhino show. He was almost crying. Then he started talking about the future of shows and how he knows where the responsibility is going. And he turns to me and Shawn Foxx and says, "these two guys listen to some of the most brutal stuff there is, and kevin...you can do things with your voice that i never imagined. I'm counting on you to book shows and keep this music scene alive." So we talked after the show. And I'm going to go pick up all his contacts and references. I'm taking his spot. Small shows at first...mostly locals. I don't know what my production label is going to be called yet, but thats going to just be a slow work in progress. Anyway, my first big show is going to be Feb 23rd i believe. Brace yourself because i'm going to need people to come to all of my local shows and support the scene because its a spendy bill. Its going to cost 15 bucks at the door at all star i suspect. But my first biiiig show i'm booking is... Job For a Cowboy, Despised Icon, and See You Next Tuesday. Local openers will be Cheesegrater and i'm not sure who the other one is yet....its on open slot. But its going to be fucking huge, we've contacted Metal Blade and got the estimate for JFAC. Contacted Ferret and got the estimate on SYNT. And got ahold of century and got the estimate on Despised Icon. Now its just a matter of whether or not they take the bill, and if we gather the money. ~Promoter Washington Christ~ | | |
| oh god yucki have a upper respritory problem its killing my throat, big time. And i went to practice and did A song and began to die out. Its ick. I'm hoarse all the fucking time, it hurts to breathe. My cold is kicking in full throttle. I have a temperature The flu, yuck.
And my shoulder got major fucked at work and its killing me. I can't even sit up. This room is where i'm stuck, it sucks And i feel like i'm fucking dying. ~Blahah ick Washington Christ~ | | |
| blah ickI should be pumped, but today at work wore me out. Last night at 9:30 while im napping i get a phone call "Get to the allstar, we are playing in an hour, we got added during the middle of the show to close it out. Don't ask questions." Get there and War on Earth (thanks to them by the way) are lending us their equipment because they played before us. I'm sick, Weston is tired, Brandon is nervous, Bill is bill, and Chris is stoked. An odd combination but... It was the SICKEST set ever...no lie. Just amazing. I met soo many folks after our set that just wanted to talk. We got told were the heaviest band in FM, and Jed from Any Day said we're the best band in FM if we just got louder equipment or a better PA...but the talent and potential is awesome. But we could not have done that well without War on Earth...they go clean slate with me for now. Buuuuut, the new stuff is....1.Heavier, yes heavier (possibly adding a few songs with my 7 string guitar dropped to A...but otherwise staying in Drop B) 2. Longer 3. More Tech (sweeps and crap like that) 4. Looking for a 2nd guitarist right now 5. My vocals are going to be both lower and higher (pitch practice) 6. All around better. ~Yeti Washington Christ~ | | |
