  • Lately...

Well, not to much has been going on lately.  Only two real things to talk about, really.  The first is an opportunity I got to work on a yacht.  My Uncle Mark came to bible class and at beginning of class asked if any one would like to help on a yacht.  Christadelphian that we had met on Sunday was in town, she was the purser of the ship.  I was thinking that it sounded pretty cool,  but then again, I'm not really sure...Then he said that they would pay us $15 an hour.  Then it turned into a no brainer.  So I got to go work on this yacht.  It's a $25 million yacht.  It was 141' long.  Everything on this boat was really nice and spotless, for the most part, but after we left it was...anyway...It was really cool working there.  We scrubbed some decks and helped with all the stuff we could.  It was really cool...  The second thing is me getting my learner's permit.  I went to the DMV yesterday to get it.  I was a little nervous about the test...but not to worry, it was soooo easy.  I easily passed and then got my picture taken and my Mom and I went driving.  It was so cool.  It really is different then I imagined though...I can't really explain, but it is.  25 MPH seems fast...I don't know, it's hard to imagine/explain...Oh well...Thanks for reading through my long post.

  • Back Home

Well, I'm home from Manitoulin and finally decided to sit down and write a new post.  Kid's Camp was really cool.  It started off with a big pancake breakfast, which was great, and then a good 15 hours of driving.  We stayed the night at Uncle Dave and Aunt Anne Pierce's house and then very early in the morning were off for another 4 hours to catch the ferry.  The ferry ride was really nice which consisted of exploring the entire trip and hiding from each other.  A good 2 hours of fun until we were packed onto a bus for about an hour.  The scenery was really nice though.  Finally we pulled into the actual camp and were getting off the bus and our counselors found us right away and took us back to camp.  It took awhile to get used to being at camp...from remembering to pick up your food everyday, to what time classes were.  The classes were all pretty good but I enjoyed my first class the best which was by Uncle Peter Robinson.  His class was on Genesis 1-4.  We discussed how there is some evidence (though it doesn't necessarily prove it) of a pre-adamic creation.  Uncle Peter dived into the Hebrew and showed is that verse two actually says "The earth became waste and desolate," rather then, "The earth was without form and void."  It was a really interesting class and I learned quite a bit about Hebrew.  The whole week was all really fun and much stood out to talk about, except for field day of course!  All the activities related to Abraham which was our subject.  My favorite was probably tug-a-war.  It wasn't regular old tug-a-war though.  It was in the lake, with each team on two canoes each that were tied together.  Using four oars and your hands, you could do whatever you could to get your team to win.  My team didn't even come close to winning, but it was really fun none the less.  The lake was really cool and I took a lot of pictures of the lake and the sunset.  I'll see if I can post those sometime soon.  The week really flew by and before I knew it I was boarding the bus to start the long journey home.  The ferry was really nice on the way home, it wasn't quite as crowded and we were able to get food from the cafeteria there.  We got back to mainland about 2 hours later and headed back for Uncle Dave's where we stayed the night again.  We left at around 5AM the next morning and got home at about 9PM.  Only 18 days till I get my permit!

  • Off to Manitoulin

Well, tomorrow I leave around 6:30AM for Canada.  I'm so excited.  I will be going to Kid's Camp.  I've never been before so I don't know what to expect, but I sure am excited!  I just need to pack, get some last minute things, and then, off to Canada!  I'll let you all know how it went after I get back...One last thing, in a month and a day, I can get my Learner's Permit!  I can't wait!

  • WOW!  I was just outside mowing my Grandparent's lawn...and it's HOT!  The thermometer said that it was 91 degrees outside!  Thanks to a Root Beer though, it wasn't too bad.  On the upside, it's only a week until Manitoulin (Kid's Camp) starts!

  • Shippensburg '07

Shippensburg was awesome this year.  There certainly are many great memories...we singles finally beat the marrieds, the classes were really good, and just singing in the choir.  And, if anyone is wondering, Jaden is doing well and was discharged from the hospital around 1:30 on Sunday right after Shippensburg ended.  Well, that's all I have to say for now...
