| Why do we waste billions of dollars on the space program while millions
of people are starving, out of work, and living in sub-standard
conditions? Star Trek was a TV show!!! Lets get back to
reality and start helping those people on THIS planet. I
appreciate the fact that the government is seeking out "new life and
new civilizations", but they're just not out there. Also, the fact
that they are still using fossil fuels like oil and gasoline to power
the shuttle is just a little archaic. What ever happened to the
dilithium crystal engine? They need to invest the money into technology
that will give me my flying car, my lazer gun, and my lightsaber!!
