CRISIS in the Upper Altitudes: Day SIX

"Tall people are a waste of building material." -
Frank Lloyd Wright

So, I went with Eileen and Tony to see Mae (with The Spill Canvas and Army of Me, which is from the Gaithersburg!) at the 9:30 Club last night. I chose to wear the Dashboard shirt. Why? I can only say it was fate.

Between acts, the crowd presses together because they all want to get up front. I found myself being given a lap dance by a nice white girl in a skimpy top. She turned around just far enough to see my shirt. "Did you go to that concert?" she asked. Yes, I answer. (See the picture.) "We met him," she continued. I could barely hear what she was saying. Oh, she met someone, I thought. That's nice. What she really meant, of course, was that she met him.

"He's really short," she said. "Like, up to here." She placed a hand at her shoulder. Now, this girl was at least a head shorter than I. The math looks like 6'1" - A Head - Another Head = Chris Carrabba. (See tiny bright blob at center of picture, adjacent to woman of reasonable height.)

Yikes! It is just another bombshell to follow the startling revelation that YES, everyone is very short, and it's all Frank Lloyd Wright's fault.
