I'm Back

WOW, Has it been almost 4 months since I actually sat down and wrote something on here.    Well,  in one sense I'm not surprised.  It's been a really tough year so far and the last few months have been really trying.  To sum things up:

                     LIFE SUCKS

But, having stated that, I've seen God doing alot of positive things in my life, I just haven't figured out why we had to go through them.   There were some things that really made me mad.  For example,  we confided in someone that we were in need of financial help,  they said we'll be glad to help you, then after we met, told us we didn't need help(that month we were REALLY in need).   So, we had to do something we did not want to do.  To make ends meet, we rented out the basement apartment.   It's amazing how God works things out.  A single Mom need a place to live.  In the 7 weeks they have lived here, we have almost become one big family.  Things are starting to pick up at work again.  Maybe I'll soon regain a positive attitude about life.  Until then, I MUST RELY on God's grace and mercy to see me through.  Please pray for us.  THANKS.

Run? Me!

Wow, Are things changing in my life.  After getting down to almost 200 lbs, things went haywire.  What with the Renwal of Vows and 10 day Cruise last fall by the first of the year I had gained back up to 220 lbs.  The lovely Mrs. and I joined the WaronWeight here on Xanga.  She lost 11.5 lbs in 6 weeks and I lost 8.  Since then we have both joined SparkPeople.com     Best part is that it is free.  But with all of the encouragement from other members we are steadily improving our physical condition.  I hate to say that I am proud of myself, but I am.  Out of 30 minutes on the Treadmill mill today, I actually jogged/ran for 5 minutes.  The last time I actually remember running by choice had to be at least 25 years ago.  I'm back down near 200 and am not going to stop until I get to my goal of 160.  Anybody out there want to join us as we get these Temples that have been given us back into the shape they should be in.   BTW, I highly recommend SparkPeople, if you would like any info  I would be happy to try to help.  Eccles. 4:9   "Two are better than one, for if they fall one will lift up the other."

Here we go again

Ahh, Springtime!!  and after over 40 years without a problem,  an old nemesis has reared it's ugly head for a second year.  Yes, Poison Ivy is back.  At this point, it's not as bad as last year and I hope I can keep it under control but I am going to the Doctor on Wednesday.   I can deal with this on my arms, but other locations are not very comfortable.  Please pray that this does not get any worse, I really can't afford to take time off

I got close to a new record for hours worked in one month for March.  By the time I finished work Monday, that gave me a total of 274 hrs.  If I figure a 40 hr  week, I'm well into the 3rd week of April.

In a completely different vein, My youngest Grandchild will be 8 yrs old tomorrow.  I'm too young to be this old...   On the other hand,  the lovely Mrs. & I are still young enough and physically fit enough to really enjoy the Grandkids.  Sat. we were able to take them to the National Air & Space Museum at Dulles Airport.   We had a GREAT day.

We did'nt sign up for the WaronWeight this time, but have still been doing quite well.  Since the Lovely Mrs. discovered Sparkpeople.com (and has become totally addicted)  she has lost 23.5 lbs since Jan.1.  I've also gotten into Sparkpeople and found it to be extremely helpful.  I've lost 20.2 since Jan 1.  We both like the dietary info, nutrition tracker and fitness schedule they work out for you.  Best of all, it is FREE!!!!!!!.   There are also many  groups for you to be encouraged by and in turn encourage others.

We are also very aware of the health benefits we have received physically since we started taking GNLD Nutritional and Herbal Supplements.  As I have mentioned in earlier posts, these products are the ONLY ones we have ever taken that have made a difference in the way we feel.  During the summer of 2006, the lovely MRS could'nt even walk the length of our 42' long house.  Now she does aerobics and cardio for and hour(or more) at a time.  At work she even plays with the kids on the playground at the schools she works in.  DoubleDutch anyone?  If anyone is intersted in learning about these GNLD products, please contact us

May God richly bless each and every one of you out there in Xangaland!!!!

Saturday's Promised Entry +2

Okay, I know I said I would post on Saturday but obviously I did'nt make it.  If life gets any busier...

The following is loosely based on the message our Pastor preached 3/2/08.

                               Zechariah or Mary?  Luke 1:5-38

What would your reaction be?  Zechariah is a Priest at the Temple and we are told that he and his wife Elizabeth were "both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and statutes of the Lord".  Does'nt mean they were perfect, but they apparently did all they could to live as stated above.  Zechariah's turn to burn incense in the temple comes by lot and as he is in the temple he has a visitor, the angel Gabriel.  Now Gabriel tells him of the great things the Lord is about to do in his life and from the text, we can gather that Zechariah's reaction was something like "YEAH, RRIIIGGHHHTT!  and I have some land in the middle of the Meditterranean I'd like to sell you". For His reaction, he is told that he will not be able to speak until his foretold son is born.

Mary, a young teenage girl is vistited by Gabriel about 6 months later.  Now being a male, I really can't comprehend the enormity of what Gabriel tells Mary.  That she is going to have a baby.  Naturally, her reaction is; "How can this happen, I'm a virgin".  After Gabriel's answer to her, what is her response?  "Behold, I am the servant of the Lord, let it be to me according to your word".

So, what would your reaction be to either of these situations?  Are you a Zechariah or a Mary?  I have a feeling that I know what my reaction would be and I doubt that I would be classified as a Mary.  What would you do if and angel of the Lord appeared to you and delivered such an improbable message?

Our pastor's final comment. "I would want this to a church full of Marys".

Hope this gives you some food for thought.  Please take the time to read the above reference scripture and give some very serious consideration to how you would react.  Unfortunately, as I said, I am at this point a Zechariah.  I hope you are not
