| My Quest BeginsVideo games have been a part of my life for a very long time. Not as long as some of you, but still a substantial part. I love video games. I love playing them, and I love watching them being played. I have very fond memories of spending the night at friends houses and playing NES, Genesis, Super Nintendo, Playstation, Nintendo 64, and whatnot. Night after night we would play Mario, Sonic, Mortal Kombat, Twisted Metal 2, Goldeneye, and whatever games we could get our hands on.
I went away to college, and thankfully met people who loved video games just as much as I did. We’d all crowd into people’s dorm rooms and watch someone play through Megaman X3. We’d schedule tournaments in Bomberman and Tetris Attack. Sure, grades would slip here and there, but overall, it was worth it. After all, who cares about Max Webber (pronounced Weeber) or Intro to Psychology? I need to know how Chrono escapes from 600 A.D.! Gamers were looked down upon by the institution, but we stood proud. We could learn about Jesus and stop the Mother Brain. As time progressed, classes became harder, and so video game playing decreased. I remember lamenting to my mom about how I hadn’t played a game in at least a month, and she seemed overjoyed at the fact. Why? Because she just doesn’t understand.
I’ve been thinking about those times lately. They were great, but something began to dawn on me. I’ve played a bunch of really great games, but I haven’t really completed a whole lot of them. If I didn’t do something, they would remain unfinished. So I made a New Years Resolution.
I have to beat 12 video games in 12 months.
I have to defeat 12 games that I have played before, or are considered classics. I need to. Sure, I’ve beaten a lot of games, hard ones even. However, I haven’t even made it to the end of a Zelda game. I think that’s pretty sad. So I decided I am going to push my gaming to the limits. I also decided to blog about my experiences taking on these games.

This is where I will be updating my project. Please check it out and see if I can accomplish my goal.
