The Scriptural Basis for Our Honorable Duty

"If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church appropriate authority figure (ie. RA, RD, or Dean) so that he might be suspended or fined; and if he refuses to listen even to the church appropriate authority figure, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.” Matthew 18:15-17

And again, leave it to the Penthouse blog to promulgate the law. Thanks, Kirk.

aaaand also make sure that you know he is actually sinning. some peoples' imaginations are completely amazing. i mean i appreciate the amusement but drunkeness, getting high, hookah before chapel...you have to be kidding me...where do people come up with this stuff from? and these are just the rumors of this past week. off campus does not equal a vice-enslaved, rebeliousness-obsessed and rule-detached existance. i know it may be hard for to understand. but since benefit-of-the-doubt has failed. thought i'd make a public statement: "UNTRUE." and i'm not upset or bitter. i think it's hilarious. well mostly. definitly kinda sad too.

"Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God." -1 Peter 2:16

believe it or not, it's not.

You should have crossed out "If he listens to you."  And they would probably prefer that you not confront him, but just report him immediately, so you could cross out "go and show him his fault."  And you should have crossed out "against you."  It doesn't matter if someone sins against you, it just matters that he sinned.  But you're close.

You've got a point... in fact, we should strike "or a tax collector" as well, since a tax collector works for the government, which is the earthly manifestation of God's justice. So, to improve this verse, it should have said:

"If anyone sins, thought about sinning, or according to your roommate who overheard something at dinner might have sinned, you should report it immediately, and treat him as you would a pagan."

Much better.
