| Odd ThoughtI was driving home last night and there was a full moon. (Or else it'll be full tonight, close enough.) And "Eclipse" by Pink Floyd was playing on the iPod. Suddenly I had a thought . . . First, as I looked at the moon I realized that during an eclipse the "dark side" of the moon is actually lit by the sun. That tickled me since I was listening to Pink Floyd explain that "There is no dark side of the moon really; it's all dark." But then I had a brilliant idea. What if NASA sent a shuttle to the moon right before a solar eclipse and landed it so that to us on earth it would appear to be on the edge of the disc? Would we be able to see it's shadow as well? If we could, wouldn't that be totally awesome? I can't believe that no one else has ever had this idea, so I'm afraid that it must be impossible. Does anyone have any previously unrevealed knowledge of space travel to shed some light on this. | | |
| In today's edition of "Jill's An Idiot," Jill starts singing along with Relient K instead of paying close attention to stop and go traffic. Jill rams her car into the back of an innocent bystander's (bydriver's?) much newer and stronger car. None the less, the cars passenger whammed her head on the dashboard, and was sent to the hospital for a check up. Jill has airbag burn on her hands and her face itches. The passenger airbag cover smashed into the windshield of Jill's car. It now has a truly awful smash mark and bubbles a bit. The fender of Jill's car sustained a fairly large dent, while the bumper of the other vehicle seemed undamaged. As if all of this wasn't enough . . . I just picked that freaking car up from the shop this morning. If I had to hit someone, why not last week? | | |
| Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand I'm married now! YAY! It's been a fun couple of weeks. Aaron and I spent a couple of days in Indianapolis for a honeymoon. We went to the zoo, the Children's Museum, and saw the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. It was a really great time. We spent to rest of the week just haning out in the apartment, watching a lot of movies and starting to get things organized. Now we're back to work and still settling into our routines. The sudden onslaught of cold weather has been a bit difficult to deal with. The furnace in the apartment broke right before we moved in. They've decided to replace it, so for now we're making do with two space heaters. So, lots of snuggling going down at our place. Not much else going on. What's up with everybody else? I never actually talk to anyone anymore. | | |
| We're in the final two weeks of the wedding countdown. I'm basically stressed. But it's pretty fun. People keep asking my opinion of basically everything that's going on. Which is both fun and stressful. Mostly fun. If my parents had been this easy to bend to my whims my whole life, I would've been having a lot more fun. And it's great at work. When I get distracted and start messing up, one of my coworkers will usually stop what they're doing and explain to the customer that I'm getting married next week. Suddenly, the nasty glary customer gets really friendly. If they're female they even ask me about my dress, flowers, hair, etc. Very cool. Aaron and I signed the lease on our apartment last night. Then we had a Taco Bell picnic on the living room floor. I'm trying to ignore the potential foreshadowing caused by the first meal in our first home being Taco Bell. But then again . . . it's very us. So, basically . . . wedding kinda fun, kinda stressful. But I'm starting to think I'll actually survive to get married. Yay! | | |
| So, yesterday . . . I was totally excited about all this snow. Witness my new, non-Christmas background. There would've been a post about it, but I ran out of time. Today . . . it's five something or other in the morning. And I have to go outside as soon as I stop typing and scrape all that lovely snow off my car. So I can be to work at six. And I suddenly don't like snow so much anymore. Or work. Or mornings really. But I'm sure you didn't sign into Xanga today just to listen to me whine. Go read something interesting or thoughtful that someone else has posted. Maybe I'll throw some philosophy around here later. For now, it's early and it's cold, and I'm not likin' it. | | |
