| Life is an adventure for those who choose to live.
My girlfriends and I will go out on what we call "adventures." Nothing incredibly spectacular in and of itself. However, making time to do the unexpected awakens us to the reality that we are living in a wonderfully complex and a devinely inspired world rich with possibility. We get so bogged down in our perspective that every day life is boring and pure "drudgery" that we forget to marvel at the miracle of existance. Life is interesting when people are interested.
People are searching...trying everything to awaken their souls, to revive their deadened spirits. There is One who is searching to revive the hearts of those who choose to accept His gift and live the life of His most passionate calling..."For the eyes of the Lord search the whole earth to stregnthen the hearts that are fully committed to Him." 2 Chron. 16:9. | | |
| "I give you one million dollars to go live in Africa--and your experience here would be one of far greater wealth." --Onesimus Weru
My family had the honor of housing a leader from Kenya for the night. Our conversation stirred these thoughts of conviction:
The best way to motivate a privileged, over-fed, and over-stimulated people is to involve them with the oppressed, hungry, and hurting. Together, we will help heal our wounds. America suffers because she can not feel. She is lost amidst a plethora of answers. Deaf amidst a cacophony of sounds. Abundance has numbed us to wonder...so we have chosen instead to wander. Perhaps America's dream should not be the acquisition of the white picked fence. But, conversely, of helping those whose safety is determined by it.
America, will we share? Will we choose to find joy in sacrifice? Lost or forgotten...can it be true that helping is necessary for healing?

"Decent people who stay inactive out of cowardice or indifference when around them human beings are being humiliated and destroyed are the most dangerous people in the world."
