The winter has past me by and the spring has almost come.  A great event transpired last Saturday.  Yes, the first annual Mountain Man competition went off well.  Yes it was cold, yes it was rainy, yes it might have felt good to stay home in your warm Lawlor bunks, but  not for the Men of the Hill.  No they were out in the cold, in the rain, with their throwing machines.  Some of the trebuchets launched melons the tremendous distance of over 300 feet.  The air cannon propelled the melon across the brook.  Then the tug of war competition mucked and muddied the brave boys.  The Caber Toss tested the raw strength and power of the Hillian souls.  Finally the great duel over water with weapons of wet laundry proved who should be the Hill's new king.  Congratulations to King Michael Mossop, and everyone who braved the elements to view this noble event.
