Spoons is not that competitive of a game...

At a Christmas party last night:

Me: Is that blood on your hand from playing spoons?

Luke Will: Yep.

Me: Cool...

(Big grin on Luke's face and a hearty exchange of high-fives)

What Jesus Demands from the World

My family (my whole family that is now that we have Rachel back) made the trek up to Branson yesterday. We got off on an incredibly late start and didn't get there till later afternoon. As always, the lights were beautiful and the Christmas tree, oh, the Christmas tree... That definitely is one of the memories that I will always look back on with enduring fondness. The lights dancing to the tune of Carol of the Bells is something I will always remember.

We went to the Tanger Outlet Mall today. I managed to make my way around the entire mall in approximately 1 and half hours. After the first 5 or 6 hours, my mom had only made it halfway around the store! Needless to say, I became further convinced that I am not a shopper.

Isn't it awesome when God picks you up and begins to dust off all the distractions you face and invites you to just seek Him. He's been kind of doing that for me this weekend and it has been so refreshing. I long to be at a place where God truly is my all, and my life somehow gets lost in His. I've been reminded this weekend how important faith is, faith that God is truly better than anything this world or life can offer. Without faith it truly is impossible to please God. I was also reminded that we all, even the atheists and agnostics worship something. What we worship is what we think about, talk about, serve, and ultimately what our whole life ends up being wrapped around. If that is anything other than Christ, it's idolatry. I want my life to be Christ.
