Q: Where are the sub-sites located? A: The links to each of the sites can be found in two areas of the site. The easiest way to find them is on the left hand side in the module that read's "The Star Wars Net's Hub-Sites." There you can easily find all of our site's as easy as a click of the button! We also have the URL's to the hub-sites located on one of the entries of the site.
Q: Who are the staff of The Star Wars Net? A: We are a small group of dedicated people working to run this site so that fellow Star Wars fans can enjoy it as well as us! We specialize in Star Wars multimedia.
Q: What is hotlinking? A: Bandwidth theft or "hotlinking" is direct linking to a websites's files (images, video, etc.) An example would be using an <IMG> tag to display a JPEG image you found on someone else's web page so it will appear on your own site. (Using their code [or copy and pasting] instead of saving to your own computer/server/photo hosting site.)
Q: Why should I stop hotlinking? A: Hotlinking can have a lot of undesirble consequences. One outcome is the so-called "switcheroo." If you've linked to an image on someone's server, what's to prevent them from changing the image you linked to? This can have humorousresults. Since most sites, forums, etc. have strict policies about offensive images, it wouldn't take much for an aggravated webmaster you've been stealing bandwidth from to shut you down completely with an unwanted "switcheroo".
Q: What happens if I hotlink, am warned, an fail to stop hotlinking? A: If you are warned, and do not follow the rules, you will be banned from all of the Star Wars Net sites, including all of the hub-sites. We have xanga trackers on all of the sites, so your I.P. address is also logged. So if you create a new account, this one will be blocked, as well.
