How Much Does

Christ Love Us?

All Christians, no matter what denomination, love Jesus.
All Catholics and Protestants love Jesus sometimes even
more than God! But it isn’t hard to figure out why:

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance:
that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
1Corinthians 15:3) (New International Version) -BibleGateway

All of Christendom’s ministers claim to represent God but
they never bring up the fact that God has a name. We can
study the Bible with them for years and they will refuse to
acknowledge the existence of Jehovah mostly because they
consider Jehovah to be the Jewish God and Jesus, the Christian
god.

But what does the Bible say about Jehovah?

29 Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too?
Yes, of Gentiles too,
(Romans 3:29) (NIV) -BibleGateway

Which God?

5 I am Jehovah, and there is none else; besides
me there is no God. I will gird thee, though thou hast
not known me; 6 that they may know from the rising of
the sun, and from the west, that there is none besides
me: I am Jehovah, and there is none else.
(Isaiah 45:5,6) (American Standard Version) -BibleGateway

Yes, that is the American Standard Bible. Most ministers
refuse to use that Bible version because Jehovah’s name
is restored to where it originally appeared in over 6,000
places.
But the popular King James Bible also has
Jehovah’s name in it:

3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob,
by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was
I not known to them.
(Exodus 6:3) (King James Version)
-BibleGateway

18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH,
art the most high over all the earth.

(Psalms 83:18) (KJV)
-BibleGateway

So, should the ministers talk about God’s name to their congregations?

1 And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you. 2 If ye
will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto
my name, saith Jehovah of hosts, then will I send the curse upon
you, and I will curse your blessings; yea, I have cursed them already,
because ye do not lay it to heart.

(Malachi 2:1-2) (ASV)
-BibleGateway

God's Son is very important to us as but Jehovah’s
Witnesses also believe that it is vital for us to know
who God is because He promises to save us if we
call upon Him and Him only:

32
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on
the name of Jehovah shall be delivered;

(Joel 2:32) (ASV)
-BibleGateway

Most people don’t care about Jehovah's Witnesses' beliefs
and cling to the ones they like better. People say things like,
"I want to worship God my way!" and "Jesus is my God and
I will worship him if I want to!"

That doesn’t bother Jehovah's people. Noah truthfully told
his people that the Ark was the only safe place to be when
the rains came, but they scoffed at him too. In the end, they
all drowned. This world, as we now know it, is also going to
end soon but there won’t be an ark to save us. Faith in
Jehovah is what it will take:

2 I will say to Jehovah: "[You are] my refuge and my stronghold,
My God, in whom I will trust." 5 You will not be afraid of anything
dreadful by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, 7 A thousand
will fall at your very side And ten thousand at your right hand;To
you it will not come near. 8 Only with your eyes will you look on
And see the retribution itself of the wicked ones.
(Psalms 91:2,5,7-8) (New World Translation) www.watchtower.org

Tens of thousands will die? How bad will it get?

"And those slain by Jehovah will certainly come to be in
that day
from one end of the earth clear to the other
end of the earth
. They will not be bewailed, neither will
they be gathered up or be buried. As manure on the surface
of the ground they will become."
(Jeremiah 25:33) (Young's Literal Translation)
-BibleGateway

Most people say, "But Jesus loves us. He will protect us!"

"But God shows his anger from heaven
against all sinful, wicked people who
push
the truth away from themselves.
So God let them go ahead and do whatever
shameful things their hearts desired.
As a result, they did vile and degrading things
with each other's bodies.
That is why God abandoned them
to their shameful desires.
Even the women turned against the natural way
to have sex and instead indulged in sex
with each other. And the men, instead of having
normal sexual relationships with women,
burned with lust for each other.
Men did shameful things with other men and,
as a result, suffered within themselves
the penalty they so richly deserved.
Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness,
sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, fighting, deception,
malicious behavior, and gossip.
They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent,
proud, and boastful. They are forever inventing
new ways of sinning and are disobedient to their
parents. They refuse to understand, break their
promises, and are heartless and unforgiving.
They are fully aware of God's death penalty
for those who do these things,
yet they go right
ahead and do them anyway. And, worse yet, they
encourage others to do them, too."
(Romans 1:18,24,26,27,29-32)(NLT)
-BibleGateway

What Death Penalty?

9 Don't you know that those who do wrong will have no
share in the Kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves.
Those who indulge in sexual sin, who are idol worshipers,
adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals, 10 thieves, greedy
people, drunkards, abusers, and swindlers--none of these
will have a share in the Kingdom of God.
(1Corinthians 6:9-10) (NIV)
-BibleGateway

Will these "good Christians" really die?
Why won’t Jesus save them?

"Not everyone who calls me their Lord will get into the kingdom
of heaven.
Only the ones who obey my Father in heaven
will get in."
(Matthew 7:21) (Contemporary English Version)
-BibleGateway

And what does Christ’s Father require?

The LORD says, "People who never before inquired
about me are now asking about me.
I am being found
by people who were not looking for me
. To them I
have said, `I am here!'
(Isaiah 65:1) (NLT) -BibleGateway

Jehovah's Witnesses have to warn people if their beliefs
are wrong so that they get a fair chance to correct them.
Most people don’t like their beliefs and refuse to change.
That is their decision. They do not make people change;
They are just the messengers. They don’t tell people what
they want to hear; they tell them what they need to know.

2 "I opened my arms to my own people all day long, but
they have rebelled. They follow their own evil paths and
thoughts.
(Isaiah 65:2) (NIV) -BibleGateway

What will be the final outcome?

"12 I will `destine' you to the sword. All of you will bow
before the executioner, for when I called, you did not
answer. When I spoke, you did not listen. You
deliberately sinned--before my very eyes--
and chose
to do what you know I despise.
"
(Isaiah 65:12) (New Living Translation) -BibleGateway

"I have told you this, so that when the time comes
you will remember that I warned you."

(John 16:4) (NIV) -BibleGateway

ONCE SAVED - ALWAYS SAVED?
WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?

Most Christians believe that "once they are
saved, they are always saved".

Is that a wise belief?

"You see that a man is justified - pronounced righteous before
God - through what he does and not alone through faith..."
(James 2:24) (Amplified Bible) -Biblegateway

CAN WE REALLY GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING
AS LONG AS WE BELIEVE IN CHRIST?

What did Christ say?

"Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because
many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to"
(Luke 13:23,24) (New International Version) -Biblegateway

"If you don't stay joined to me, you will be thrown away."
(John 15:6) (Contemporary English Version) -Biblegateway

We must hold firmly to our Christian faith because,
unlike what we may hear in some churches or on
religious television programs, the Bible clearly says
we can fall away. It tells of Christians who abandoned
"the straight path."

"They have left the straight way and wandered off. If they have
escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome,
they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning."
(2Peter 2:15,20 (NIV) -Biblegateway

"If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the
knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a
fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will
consume the enemies of God."
(Hebrews 10:26,27) (NIV) -Biblegateway

8 The person who keeps on sinning belongs to the devil. The
devil has sinned from the beginning. But the Son of God came
to destroy the works of the devil.
(1John 3:8) (New Life Version) -Biblegateway

Many people want the blessings but not the
responsibility of following and obeying our
Savior. In fact, the word "obey" often disturbs
them. Yet Christ said:

”Then come and be my follower."
(Luke 18:22) (CEV)
-Biblegateway

And the Bible also states:

"He will punish those who do not obey the gospel of our
Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction
and shut out from the presence of the Lordand from the
majesty of his power."
(2Thessalonians 1:8,9) (NIV) -Biblegateway

Although Faith is essential - if it is not backed
by good works and good deeds - it is dead.
Both works and faith together are needed to
please God and to receive salvation.

"But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness,
commits iniquity and does according to all the abominations
that a wicked man does, will he live? All his righteous deeds
which he has done will not be remembered for his treachery
which he has committed and his sin which he has committed;
for them he will die. "
(Ezekiel 18:24) (New American Standard Bible) -Biblegateway

"When the righteous turns from his righteousness
and commits iniquity, then he shall die in it."
(Ezekiel 33:18) (NASB) -Biblegateway

Indeed - we are judged by what we do
and not by faith alone.  The Scriptures
say clearly that this is the case:

"What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but
has no deeds? Can such faith save him? "Suppose a brother or
sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him,
'Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,' but does nothing
about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith
by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."
(James 2:14-17) (NIV) -Biblegateway

"But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me
your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.
You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe
that–and shudder. You foolish man, do you want evidence that faith
without deeds is useless "
(James 2:18-20) (NIV) -Biblegateway

"Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he
did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his
faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made
complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says,
"Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,"
and he was called God's friend. You see that a person is justified by
what he does and not by faith alone."
(James 2:21-24) (NIV) -Biblegateway

"As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith
without deeds is dead."
(James 2:26) (NIV) -Biblegateway

"God will give to each person according to what he has done."
(Romans 2:6) (NIV) -Biblegateway

"...each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. "
(1Corinthians 3:8) (NASB) -Biblegateway

What labor?

30 If you are not on my side, you are against me. If you don't
gather in the harvest with me, you scatter it.
(Matthew 12:30) (CEV)
-Biblegateway

37 He said to his disciples, "The harvest is so great,
but the workers are so few.
(Matthew 9:37) (NLT)
-Biblegateway

What harvest?

7 Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near.
(Matthew 10:7) (NLT)
-Biblegateway

The ministers of Christendom seldom talk about
the Kingdom of Heaven, except to say that ‘when
we die, we will all go to Heaven.” Are the people
sitting in the pews following Christ? Do they go
home from church and tell their neighbors that
”the kingdom of Heaven is near”?

We have a choice to make. We can help with
the “harvest” or scatter it.

Which is the wise choice?

"And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne,
and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is
the
book of life
. The dead were
judged according to what they
had done
as recorded in the books."
(Revelation 20:12) (NIV) -Biblegateway

What is the wise thing to do now?

Are people who commit grave sins and shrug their
shoulders going to be endlessly forgiven?

That is not what our Messiah said:

13 but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
(Matthew 24:13) (NIV) -Biblegateway

POPULARITY!

   Elvis_with_fans

Most people want to be liked.  Yes, they enjoy being popular.

So then why does the Bible warn us about being popular
with the world?

Why does the Bible condemn friendship with the world?

Why did our Saviour say that his true followers would
be unpopular and hated by the world?

"If you lived on the world's terms, the world would love
you as one of its own.
But since I picked you to live on
God's terms
and no longer on the world's terms,
the world
is going to hate you."

(John 15:19) (Message Bible) -Biblegateway

Popularity and Friendship with the World is like
a married person cheating on the spouse.

"You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with
the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be
a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God."
(James 4:4) (New International Version) -Biblegateway

"They are not part of this world any more than I am."
(John 17:16) (New Living Translation) -Biblegateway

27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless
is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and
to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
(James 1:27) (NIV) -Biblegateway

DID Christ SEEK POPULARITY?

NO!
HE IS POPULAR TODAY BUT

HE DID NOT SEEK TO BE POPULAR!

Christ did not strive to be popular with people. Very often the
things he said to them made them very angry with him. Indeed
he used harsh words against the religious leaders of his day.
He certainly wasn't seeking to gain their approval - or any type
of popularity. He told them exactly what he thought of them:

13 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees,
you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven
in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor
will you let those enter who are trying to.”
(Matthew 23:13) (NIV) -Biblegateway

16 "Woe to you, blind guides!”
(Matthew 23:16) (NIV) -Biblegateway

17 You blind fools!
(Matthew 23:17) (NIV) -Biblegateway

28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to
people as righteous but on the inside
you are full
of hypocrisy and wickedness
.
(Matthew 23:28) (NIV) -Biblegateway

Christ did not candy-coat his message.  He spoke the truth regardless
of what anyone felt or thought about it. When talking to liars - he
called them liars. He certainly wasn't seeking popularity with them.

"My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one
who glorifies me. Though you do not know him, I
know him. If I said I did not,
I would be a liar like
you,
but I do know him and keep his word."
(John 8:54,55) (NIV) -Biblegateway

How did the Jews and the religious leaders react to his message?

Did he gain popularity with them?

"Then the disciples came to him and asked, 'Do you know
that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?' "
(Matthew 15:12) (NIV)
-Biblegateway

"The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this
and began looking for a way to kill him."
(Mark 11:18) (NIV)
-Biblegateway

"So from that day on they plotted to take his life."
(John 11:53) (NIV) -Biblegateway

"Yet, despite all this - Christ did not tone down his message. He
was not afraid of the people.  The princes didn't like it, the
politicians didn't care for it, the priests were offended by it, the
teachers were dubious about it, the philosophers thought they
had a better way, and so they all in one accord rejected it.
It is, in fact, the MOST HATED doctrine in all of the world."
-Paige Patterson, president of
 Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
 in Fort Worth, Texas

Christ did not try to please the people, nor did he please himself.
The only one that Jesus sought to please was his father, Jehovah.

"...for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me. "
(John 5:30) (NIV) -Biblegateway

"For even Christ did not please himself..."
(Romans 15:3) (NIV) -Biblegateway

"...So with God and Christ as witnesses, I command you
to preach God's message. Do it willingly, even if it isn't
the popular thing to do."
(2Timothy 4:1,2) (Contemporary English Version)
-Biblegateway

Wise people follow his example.

"Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God?
Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to
please men, I would not be a servant of Christ."

(Galatians 1:10) (NIV)
-Biblegateway

As servants of Jehovah God, and servants of his Son,
God's messengers will continue to preach the good news
of the coming Kingdom without letup despite the fact
that they are hated by the world.

"But you shall speak My words to them whether they listen or not."
(Ezekiel 2:7) (New American Standard Bible) -Biblegateway

What words are the true Christians constantly speaking?

"And this Gospel good news of the Kingdom reign shall be
preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and
then shall the end come."

(Matthew 24:14) (KJ21)
-Biblegateway

What is this group of Christians who are the most hated?

WORSHIPERS OF JEHOVAH WOULD BE HATED.

23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true
worshipers
will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for
they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is
spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."
(John 4:23‑24) (NIV) -Biblegateway

"Viewed globally, this persecution has been so persistent and
of such an intensity that it would not be inaccurate to regard
Jehovah's witnesses as the most persecuted group

of Christians of the twentieth century
(Jubber, 1977, p. 121)."
- A Brief History of A Century of  Religious-State Conflicts ;
by Jerry Bergman ; PH. D.

"...they have hated both me and my Father..."
(Matthew 15:24) (NIV) -Biblegateway

Why are they so hated? Is it because they refuse to run
for office, vote, celebrate pagan holidays? Is it because
their true beliefs oppose the mainstream's?

14 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them
because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
(John 17:14) (English Standard Version) -Biblegateway

BUT THE REPROACH OF JEHOVAH'S PEOPLE WILL
EVENTUALLY BE REMOVED FROM THE EARTH

"...and the reproach of his people will he take away from
off all the earth: for Jehovah hath spoken it."
(Isaiah 25:8) (American Standard Version)
-Biblegateway

"And Jehovah answered and said unto his people,
...I will no more make you a reproach among the nations."
(Joel 2:19) (ASV)
-Biblegateway

Would true Christians ever be part of the world?
Would true Christians ever be loved by the world?

NO!   NEVER !

"All men will hate you because of me, but he who
stands firm to the end will be saved. "
(Matthew 10:22) (NIV)
-Biblegateway

20 Remember the words I spoke to you: 'No servant is greater
than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you
also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.
(John 15:20) (NIV)
-Biblegateway

WHY SHOULD WE BE SEPARATE FROM THE WORLD?

"The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one."
(1John 5:19) (NIV) -Biblegateway

What Wicked one?

4 Satan, the god of this evil world,
(2 Corinthians 4:4) (NLT)
-Biblegateway

9 The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent
called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray.
(Revelation 12:9) (NIV) -Biblegateway

Warning: THIS OLD WORLD IS PASSING AWAY
AND SO ARE THOSE WHO ARE A PART OF IT!

"Deal as sparingly as possible with the things the world thrusts
on you. This world
as you see it is on its way out."
(1Corinthians 7:31) (Message Bible) -Biblegateway

"The world and all its desires will pass away. But the man
who obeys God and does what He wants done will live forever."
(1John 2:17) (NLT) -Biblegateway

AN OLD WORLD ORDER WILL BE REPLACED BY A NEW ONE

"But God has promised us a new heaven and a new earth, where
justice will rule. We are
really looking forward to that!"
(2Peter 3:13) (Contemporary English Version)
-Biblegateway

"Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former
things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind."
(Isaiah 65:17) (NIV)
-Biblegateway

"For as the new heavens and the new earth,
which I will make, shall remain before me, saith
Jehovah, so shall your seed and your name remain.
And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon
to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall
all flesh come to worship before me, saith Jehovah.
And they shall go forth, and look upon the dead bodies
of the men that have transgressed against me."
(Isaiah 66:22-24) (ASV)
-Biblegateway

"THEN I saw a new heaven and a new earth...
Then I heard a mighty voice from the throne...
saying, See! The abode of God is with men,
and He will live among them; and they shall be
His people, and God shall personally be with them
and be their God.  God will wipe away every tear
from their eyes; and death shall be no more,
neither shall there be anguish nor grief nor pain
any more, for the old conditions and the former

order of things have passed away.

(Revelation 21:1,3,4) (Amplified Bible)

The Bible’s Warnings
for the Last Days

In this modern world, ancient scriptures from an ancient
book seem out of place.

44 "In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up
a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to
another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring
them to an end, but it will itself endure forever."
(Daniel 2:44) (NIV) -BibleGateway

For most of the world, these last days seem almost normal.
The sun shines most days and the people bustle daily with
their normal activities. Even the people of Christendom
seldom think about God’s plans as He outlined them.

flood 45

"And the word of Jehovah continued to occur to me, saying...
‘An end, the end, has come upon the four extremities of the
land. Now the end is upon you, and I must send my anger
against you, and I will judge you according to your ways
and bring upon you all your detestable things. And my eye
will not feel sorry for you, neither will I feel compassion, for
upon you I shall bring your own ways, and in the midst of
you your own detestable things will come to be; and YOU
people will have to know that I am Jehovah.’ "
(Ezekiel 7:1-4) (New World Translation) www.WatchTower.org

The people of the world toil daily for their keep. Many are
hugely successful in amassing a fortune.

19 They will throw their silver into the streets, and their
gold will be an unclean thing. Their silver and gold will
not be able to save them in the day of the LORD's wrath.
They will not satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs
with it, for it has made them stumble into sin.
(Ezekiel 7:19) (NLT) -BibleGateway

For the most part, Life seems fairly normal but some parts
of the world seem to have quite a problem with the weather.

13 "Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says:
In my wrath I will unleash a violent wind, and in my
anger hailstones and torrents of rain will fall with
destructive fury."
(Ezekiel 13:13) (NIV) -BibleGateway

22 I will execute judgment upon him with plague and
bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones
and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the
many nations with him.
(Ezekiel 38:22) (NIV) -BibleGateway

Monsoon misery spreads in India

By Biswajyoti Das Sept 2, 2008

GUWAHATI, India (Reuters) - Heavy rains and rising
floodwaters forced hundreds of thousands of people
from their homes in northeastern India and sent
elephants and rhinos fleeing, as monsoon misery spread
in South Asia.

In the eastern Indian state of Bihar, desperate flood victims
attacked a warehouse and looted food supplies, while in
neighboring Bangladesh major rivers rose to danger levels
and fresh parts of the country were submerged.

In the northeastern state of Assam, heavy rains caused water
levels to rise on Tuesday, affecting more than a million people
and disrupting road networks for the second consecutive day.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080902/wl_nm/southasia_floods_dc

Why is the weather and forces of nature
such a problem these days?

9 I, the LORD, will show no mercy or pity when that
time comes. In my anger I will destroy the earth and
every sinner who lives on it.
(Isaiah 13:9) (CEV) -BibleGateway

5 But your many enemies will become like fine dust,
the ruthless hordes like blown chaff. Suddenly, in an
instant, 6 the LORD Almighty will come with thunder
and earthquake and great noise, with windstorm and
tempest and flames of a devouring fire.
(Isaiah 29:5-6) (NIV) -BibleGateway

30 The LORD will cause men to hear his majestic voice
and will make them see his arm coming down with raging
anger and consuming fire, with cloudburst, thunderstorm
and hail.
(Isaiah 30:30) (NIV) -BibleGateway

Is everybody in the world being affected by these adverse events?

13 Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah, Behold, my
servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry; behold, my
servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty; behold, my
servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be put to shame;
14 behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but
ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall wail for vexation
of spirit.
(Isaiah 65:13-14) (ASV) -BibleGateway

Most Christians are taught by their Christendom priests
and ministers that "God loves us all, no matter what!"

I will send them great trouble—all the things they feared.
For when I called, they did not answer. When I spoke,
they did not listen. They deliberately sinned before my
very eyes and chose to do what they know I despise."
(Isaiah 66:4) (New Living Translation) -BibleGateway

People have many beliefs and many gods. Whenever
problems arise, people go to their gods and ask for help.
Quite frequently, help does not arrive!

Rescuers can't get aid to starving Haitian city

By JONATHAN M. KATZ, Associated Press Writer Sept 5, 2008

GONAIVES, Haiti - The convoy rumbled out of the U.N. base
toward a flooded, starving and seething city Thursday, carrying
some of the first food aid since Tropical Storm Hanna killed 137
Haitians and drowned Gonaives in muddy water three days ago.

Hungry children at three orphanages were waiting for the canvas-
topped trucks, loaded with warm pots of rice and beans and towing
giant tanks of drinking water.

The trucks didn't make it.

The convoy crept over mud-caked, semi-paved roads past closed
stores, overturned buses and women wading in water up to their
knees with plastic tubs on their heads.

After about 45 minutes, the half-dozen trucks ground to a halt.
U.N. peacekeepers wearing camouflage fatigues and bulletproof
vests jumped out while others stood guard with assault rifles.

Before them, a huge gouge marred the road. The floods had split
the asphalt, and water ran through the 10-foot-wide (3-meter-wide)
gap.

The convoy turned around. And the children — like tens of thousands
more in this increasingly desperate city — went another day without food.

10 But Jehovah is the true God; he is the living God,
and an everlasting King: at his wrath the earth trembleth,
and the nations are not able to abide his indignation.
11 Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not
made the heavens and the earth, these shall perish from
the earth, and from under the heavens. 12 He hath made
the earth by his power, he hath established the world by
his wisdom, and by his understanding hath he stretched
out the heavens:
(Jeremiah 10:10-12) (ASV) -BibleGateway

What are Jehovah’s plans for those who ignore and disdain Him?

"And those slain by Jehovah will certainly come to be in
that day from one end of the earth clear to the other end
of the earth. They will not be bewailed, neither will they be
gathered up or be buried. As manure on the surface of the
ground they will become."
(Jeremiah 25:33) (YLT) -BibleGateway

"For God carefully watches the way that people live;
he sees everything they do. No darkness is thick enough
to hide the wicked from his eyes. For it is not up to mortals
to decide when to come before God in judgment. He will
openly strike them down for their wickedness. For they
turned aside from following him. They have no respect for
any of his ways."
(Job 34:21-23) (NLT) -BibleGateway

29 But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down
from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 "It will be just like
this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
(Luke 17:29-30) (NIV) -BibleGateway

21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from
the beginning of the world until now—and never to be
equaled again. 22If those days had not been cut short,
no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those
days will be shortened.
(Matthew 24:21-22) (NIV) -BibleGateway

10 "In that day," declares the LORD, "I will destroy your
horses from among you and demolish your chariots. 11 I
will destroy the cities of your land and tear down all your
strongholds. 12 I will destroy your witchcraft and you will
no longer cast spells. 13 I will destroy your carved images
and your sacred stones from among you; you will no longer
bow down to the work of your hands."
(Micah 5:10-13) (NIV) -BibleGateway

In a little while, the wicked will disappear. Though you look
for them, they will be gone. 11 Those who are gentle and lowly
will possess the land;they will live in prosperous security.
(Psalms 37:10-11) (NLT) -BibleGateway

7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your
right hand, but it will not come near you. 8 You will only
observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
(Psalms 91:7-8) (NIV) -BibleGateway

5 The Lord is at your right hand; he will crush kings on the
day of his wrath. 6 He will judge the nations, heaping up
the dead and crushing the rulers of the whole earth.
(psalms 110:5-6) (NIV) -BibleGateway

"...And you will destroy all who have caused
destruction on the earth."
(Revelation 11:18) (New Living Translation) -BibleGateway

"On that day of judgment," says the LORD, "I will punish
the leaders... and all those following pagan customs."
(Zephaniah 1:8) (New Living Translation) -BibleGateway

14 "The great day of Jehovah is near. It is near,
and there is a hurrying [of it] very much
. The
sound of the day of Jehovah is bitter. There a mighty
man is letting out a cry. 15 That day is a day of fury,
a day of distress and of anguish, a day of storm and
of desolation, a day of darkness and of gloominess,
a day of clouds and of thick gloom, 16 a day of horn
and of alarm signal, against the fortified cities and
against the high corner towers. 17 And I will cause
distress to mankind, and they will certainly walk like
blind men; because it is against Jehovah that they
have sinned. And their blood will actually be poured
out like dust, and their bowels like the dung. 18 Neither
their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in
the day of Jehovah’s fury; but by the fire of his zeal the
whole earth will be devoured, because he will make an
extermination, indeed a terrible one, of all the inhabitants
of the earth."

Southeast braces for Hanna as Ike strengthens

By KEVIN MAURER, Associated Press Writer Sept 5, 2008

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Some Southeastern states declared
emergencies and officials urged residents to head inland
Thursday as Tropical Storm Hanna headed toward the
Atlantic coast, where it could bring high winds and rain
from South Carolina to Maine.

Meanwhile, disaster planners eyed ferocious-looking Hurricane
Ike strengthening in the Atlantic. And with power outages and
problems from Hurricane Gustav lingering in Louisiana,
Arkansas and Mississippi, the Federal Emergency Management
Agency and relief groups found themselves juggling three storms.

Having Our Own Home

two story home

Many people today are fortunate enough to own their
homes, but other people are not this fortunate and must
rent a place to live. Some people do not even have a home
at all!

Is this what God wanted for us?
What does the Bible say?

"They will certainly build houses and have
occupancy
; and they will certainly plant vineyards
and eat their fruitage.
They will not build and
someone else have occupancy
;
they will not
plant and someone else do the eating. For like the
days of a tree will the days of my people be; and
the work of their own hands my chosen ones will
use to the full.  They will not toil for nothing, nor
will they bring to birth for disturbance; because
they are the offspring made up of the blessed ones
of Jehovah, and their descendants with them."
(Isaiah 65:21-23) (American Standard Version) -BibleGateway
