Welp, today was my half marathon in Tulsa, OK. It was really hard, but fun. Mile 11 was a straight up hill for the whole mile. Gee thanks, it's not like I haven't just run 10 miles... you had to give me a mile of hill? Miles 12 and 13 were mostly downhill though, which was nice. Here are some pictures!

Running

I ran a little more than a 10K today (6.5 miles) in 55 minutes.  That brings this week's total up to 31 miles.  Next week, I'm planning to run 40 miles in 7 days.  Maybe for the month of July I will make a goal to run at 150 miles.  Well then, I only have 143.5 left in 30 days.  Better get running.

Love you all.

I love our new house.  It is so great.  Minus the fact that the next door neighbor's daughter practices her flute outside playing Ode to Joy.

Life is Going a Direction I Never Imagined

Things are changing for the better these days.

I'm getting rid of all my old stuff.  Just junk that I have been carrying around with me from dorm to house to house and before I move into my new house, I refuse to bring with me.  Sentimental things that I look at once every other year.  That kind of stuff.  I refuse to follow the footsteps of my family, who are pack-rattish in nature and save everything!  I want to simplify my life.   I need my life to be less cluttered and less complicated.  One of those steps is clearing my junk.

Another step is saying goodbye to people in my life that are not healthy for me.  I'm tired of being in friendships that I'm always nervous around them thinking, "I am offending them or am I letting them down?  Are they angry?"  I don't need that kind of nervous energy in my life.

Cutting off all my hair was a big change; an interesting social experiment.  People do treat me differently now and I no longer get asked if I have pot or Jesus jokes.  It's a lot easier now.  I plan on keeping it short, for a while.

I love my downtown job this summer.  The staff at Bruno's Italian Restaurant are great.  Usually there are only 6-7 people running the show and everyone is like a big family.  It is an open kitchen floor plan so the servers talk to the chefs all the time.  I love it and the money is good.  I taught myself how to tie my own tie for the job too.

I also love working out.  So far this summer I have worked out everyday, save for 2 days.  Yesterday I ran 10 miles.  That is something I never thought I could/would ever be able to do.  I love the feeling of being in shape.  I want to live the healthiest life I can.

Today is moving day.  We move out of our house on Grand and to a much nicer house on South Main.  We have to draw straws today for rooms/talk it out.  We had better get our deposit back for this terrible terrible house we are leaving.  It has been falling apart around us and it is not our fault.  I have loved living with Scotty and Brett and can't wait to live with them in the nice new house.  I want to leave this house and start over fresh.  It will be nice.

I got to talk to Steph in China and she is doing great.  She loves the food, people and the city like I did.  They've already seen 9 people come to Christ!  Praise God!  I just hope that everyone overseas is doing so well.

Well, it's time to pack and move boxes.  I also need to move this computer, so... see you later xanga, until we can get cable/internet turned on at the new house.

Change it up sometimes

I cut off all my hair and gave it to locks of love.  What do you think?

Look how much darker it looks now!
