a hero and a band of brothers

After I got home last nite, I spent some time writing on my blog about an event that happened four years ago today. I would appreciate it if you guys read it. It's kind of long but it was a big event in my life.

Confessions of an Undercover Geek - "A Hero and A Band of Brothers"

time

I have found that I don't really have time to maintain two blogs. I will probably not be writing very much in xanga any more.

my blog is - confessions of an undercover geek

I have plenty of non-geeky friends that are able to read it.

I am pretty transparent with who i am and what im thinking about on my blog. It is a great way to get to know all of me. I would be tickled pink if there was something on there that someone didn't understand and in an effort to get to know me better by understanding some of my interests, asked me what something was.

There are plenty of ways to read blogs non-xanga and xanga togther easily. It uses software called a blog reader. I use the blog reader Bloglines.

Well I published my first article. w00t.

It's called, "A Web For Everyone."

I'm pretty pumped.

Derek Webb Releases His New Album “Mockingbird”

I hadn’t checked up lately on what was happening lately with Derek Webb, one of my favorite Christian singer/songerwriters. I was excited when I want to his web site to see that he had released his new album Mockingbird. I rushed onto the iTunes Music Store and bought it.

I think the music that I have loved the most has always been by the artists that are the most transparent. I think there is something that is incredibly interesting and compelling about musicians who just put it all out there for you. This is one of the big things that attracted me to Derek Webb.

The album Mockingbird follows along very much in the same vane of Derek Webb putting himslef out there. He has really packed some tough lyrics in here that I think will challenge you think deeper about yourself and what role your relationship with Jesus plays in your life. From the little bit that I have listened to the albumn, I really like it.

If your not familiar with the Derek Webb, he was formerly one of the front man for the Christian group Caedmon’s Call. In 2003, he decided to persue a solo career. This is where I got to know him and his music. If you want to get a good intro to Derek Webb’s lyrical style, check out his first album She Must and Shall Go Free or the Live Album The House Show.

A Few More Random Things That Make Me Smile

A month a go I wrote an entry about some random things that made me smile. I have thought of a few more things in my life that have really made me smile.

Oreo Cookies - Over the last few weeks when I go to the grocery store, I have been buying Oreo Cookies. Yay for chocolately goodness. I am sure they are horrible for me but they taste good.

Shooting Pool - The last two days I have been shooting pool with some of my really good friends. I have been having a blast. It really is a fun game to relax to and blow off some steam.

Geeky Web Podcast and Vidcasts - Vidcasts like Digital Life TV and Diggnation and podcasts like This Week In Tech are just so good. They make me smile. On Cable TV, there is the Home and Gardneing Network for the people with the green thumbs. After TechTV dropped off the air, there was no television or audio content that really appealed to my technological interests. Now there is just loads all up on the web. One of these days I am going to do a post about all the podcasts and vidcasts that i watch and listen to.

If you add brown paper packages tied up with strings, these are a few of my favorite things. (Sound of Music Reference)
