| Summer Reminiscence...we'll remember you have fun up there, riggio... thanks for everything you did edit..9.15.2006..2.20.am
So after all this time, I finally get around to making a summer post. What can I say? Ever since about 4 years ago, volunteering at UEAA has made the best of my summers, and they only keep getting better. Given this, I would really like to thank all who have made it happen. You all know who you are, so there's no need to have poor p0on scratch his head on a Monday morning. It all started with the rubber bands though ;) Making so many new close friends, this really feels like a family outside of home. The same way I look forward to going home and having a familiar fun environment after every school day, I look forward to the next weekend of community service every week. That bolded section is something you rarely hear anybody say at all, but for some reason I've heard it many times this summer, and am only in total agreement with it. Shoot forward 3 summers, and we get to the events of this year. Having taken up a larger role in the program for a while, it really is amazing to see how large it has grown. Boring numbers aside, a good measure would be Field Trip: 4 coach buses and 1 school bus, versus the 3 coach buses we had last year. Both years I did not get a seat on the bus, but that's besides the point -.-" Never have I had a summer more filled with events than Summer'06. Week after week I would face a 40hour work schedule and a summer course. But weekend after weekend I would face kids and the awesome after-class-events. Its been too long to remember them all, but not one of them has not been great. [HAHA! negated conditional! you guys figure that one out!!] What's different this year than any previous ones is that, as quoted from Larry, so far every weekend after the program ended has been great. The mutilation I faced at Field Trip from the face painters, the rained out camping trip that we forced through, bowling, karaoke, and more to come. [Alan, you're planning the next one.] For this, I officially dub Summer'06 The Summer of Zhen & Company. You guys just kept upping the ante on the craziness every week. Any given bystander would, without a doubt, say that we are either drunk out the ass or trippin' on some serious lala's in broad daylight. No, this doesn't mean that the others who have dealt with me are insignificant, as this thought couldn't possibly be further from the truth. We needed every single calmer person we had to keep the balance of craziness. Saturdays weren't all my summer consisted of either. Random phone calls of boredom ;) Crawling under cars to ungodly hours. Movie after movie after movie after... Working on my 2006 resolutions [ahem, losing weight, ahem]. BBQ's. Jackie Robinson. Staten Island. Lion Dance. Friday night car meets. Too much to list. This post is getting surprisingly long, and long posts are not my style, although the thoughts keep on coming; but having been on Xanga for 5 years, I know that long posts don't get read. So those who are actually reading this, thanks!! Those who aren't, ACTUALLY READ IT!!! On a final note, sHout.Outz to: Brian, Jurgen, Damian, Shin, Syns, Julia, NoWang, Fondlessir, Wonton.Noodles, Tizzy, Ducky, Eddie, Anna, NiggaKitty, Zhen, Lyndii, Ming^2, Jesssikkkkaaa, Yin, Larry, Dave, Wing, Henry, Terry, Andrey, Jack, daarth[orfious.changeyez.dilldo.hardtitz.twintwin.spanish.heelz.dot], Pizza, and everyone else.
