how bad was the labor?

she said "you want the truth? Its pretty bad". If you want to go natural, stay at home as long as possible. Her contractions started at 1am and we went to the hospital at 7am and she was only at 4cm. 7cm by 11am, 9cm by 2pm and then she was stuck at 9cm for a long time. (really ouch) This is where she started telling me to just let her die. For me it was really hard to be verbally supportive and encouraging when it was like she was being ripped in half. The couple of days afterward are no walk in the park either.

Congratulations Ben...the "Black training" we talked about earlier will commence as soon as I get down there. Until then be sure to play lots of Flame.

thank you.  i'm so happy for you both.

it's actually pretty refreshing to hear about the pain instead of letting myself forget about it with so many mothers saying "it's all worth it."  i need to prepare myself for being "ripped in half."

lets all hope i can be so gracious as to only say "let me die" also, rather than to curse out my husband yelling, "you did this to me!"

That thar is a very cute baby (I suppose one would be hard-pressed to find an ugly baby, but she's very charming none the less...)! Congratulations to you and Sarah. Also, the name is very nice. I hope Sarah feels better soon and that you both are able to get some sleep. First babies are supposed to be the easiest, at least that's what I've heard. Though of course, they're nothing to the overwhelming joy that is taking care of the LAST child.  :)

Grace and Peace!
