| Happy Birthday, in Heavin.The Katie we knew and loved lay there, peacefully, as we filed by her white-eyelet lined coffin. The sting of death was not getting it's victory here, because the blessing that Katie brought us all is and will. This beautiful young lady, knew her savior and served him well the proof is in her testimony of a life lived for Him. Because of it we know beyond a shadow of doubt, she was ushered front and center to His arms.
The ceremony celebrating her life was filled with beautiful pictures of Katie and her family. Not only pictures seen but pictures sung with beautiful words describing her life on earth as well as her life now in heaven.
I was with Katie's mom(a family friend) for the first months of her "womb" growth. Her Mother and I watched the belly growing and felt her kicking and moving waiting to get out and live out side. It almost seems she felt the urgency of it all even back then. My friend and I (since this was her first and I was childless) read all the books together on prenatal care followed all the charts and ate all we wanted...so much so my friend grew and actually miscalculated the due date.Katie E. Dorman was born on August 25,1982, but not without my friend stopping to let me know (while in labor pains) she was on her way to hospital and that Katie was finally coming. Everything was just so wonderful and joyful and exciting because of her entrance into this world.I was glad she stopped by we all prayed even more for her safe delivery.)
Well, Katie lived the way she came and I must say did so in many places in the world; Europe,South America, and many other countries that her family's ministry took them. From power tools to garden tools to complex computer programing Katie was used for the Lord and was a BLESSING to all that she met.The Bible clearly quotes that all of our days are numbered and yet we live like we have all the time in the world and waste most of it. I went away that day trying to re-define my priorities and re-focus my life...because where eternity starts hope ends.
THANK YOU KATIE DORMAN-FUHRMAN...for the good example of a job well done for your master.
We will all treasure our memories of you.

| Friends come when they "feel" like it!!!Have you ever experienced the joy of having friends just come because they love you...I mean you know they must love you when they fly from Portugal, Europe (all night journey,FYI) and drive all those hours from the City and stay up talking and laughing and remembering "when" until wee hours of the morning. Even though it had been several years it seemed that we began right where we had left off. They came and encouraged us about the past,present, and future. They came and reminded us to not weary in well doing. They came and reminded us why we serve the Lord why we should always put Him first...because we could never had been able to rejoice as we did these last 48 hours without such special friends. I would like to take the time to thank them for their friendship and love.
Also, for you who have been praying for us we begin our new ministry in the philanthropic/outreach of the Guideposts,magazine out of Pawling,NY. We will be house hunting and all that fun stuff so I will try to keep everyone posted!!!! LBollback@guideposts.org ,If you want to drop us a line.

| GRACE AND TRUTHI thought I better check in before ya'll forget about little ol' me. I ran into(not literally) this gorgeous redhead in Target the other day who lovingly asked me when I was going to up date...so here it is; you know who you are, redhead!!!!! Maybe I had better just sum up where I've been the last three months and if you want more details then write me ...deal? I have been saved for many, many, years yet it took these last three months to truly understand what,who, how,and when, GRACE and TRUTH work. You see I found out in a very special way you can't have one without the other. Because God is is the perfect balance of the two....and He is love. So where does that leave us in this loveless world... yep...being grateful for His GRACE and TRUTH....have I lost you.?..Let me quote this book I am reading.(one of many that I have read the last three months) "Grace and truth together reverse the effects of the fall, which were separation from God and others. grace and truth together invite us out of isolation and into a relationship. Grace, when it is combined with truth, invites the true self, the "me" as I really am, freckles and all, into relationship. It is the one thing to have safety in relationship; it is quite another to be truly known and accepted in this relationship. With grace alone, we are safe from condemnation, but we cannot experience true intimacy. When the one who offers grace also offers truth(truth about who we are, truth about who he or she is, and truth about the world around us), and we respond with our true self, then real intimacy is possible. Real intimacy always comes in the company of truth." So...we must...I said MUST worship God in relationship and in honesty, or we do not worship him at all. So I invite you to interpret this as to where we are and what we desire to find in our new place of service. It is hard to imagine serving out of Word of Life after thirty-three years in it...but God has a divine plan and we are looking forward to it. Pray for faith as we trust Him in our journey. | Resolve!!!With one-way tickets, it wouldn't easy to turn back. Our salary was small, and all we had was in our suitcase. My wife, Jessie, and I were on our way as young missionaries to what geographers call "The Green Hell" the jungles of Brazil bordering the mighty Amazon River. Where would we sleep the first night? What kitchen and bathroom facilities would we find, if any? When would our scanty equipment arrive , if any? Would we wake up in the night with the cool body of an anaconda snuggled up to us? What about piranhas? Jessie and I were in our mid-twenties before we were suspended above the earth higher then a ferris wheel could lift us. My brother John, had lots of flying experience as a bombardier/navigator during WWII, while his wife, Fran, had flown hether and yon trying to keep up with him. Here we were...two brothers with our wives...bound for the greatest adventure of our lives. If anyone is interested in the rest of the story then buy or borrow the book. | An Afterglow thought for Christmas 2006 At an airport on my way to California to spend Thanksgiving with my sister and while paying for a magazine and raw almonds.(to satisfy two cravings) the sales person that placed my purchases in the bag said , "HAPPY ETERNITY!" Of course I was expecting the usual Happy Holidays, certainly not Happy Eternity. Glancing at her, she smiled,and I replied,"I will, and you?" She said, "yes ma"am and praise the Lord." One would have to admit that the politically correct people could not stop anyone from using that kind of greeting could they. So I decided to take the phrase as my own and use it through out the this holiday season. We as Christians truly do know why we will have a happy eternity and that is because of Jesus' birth, death , and resurrection. Praise the Lord! We are so blessed to have had Christmas together (our children and us); we also had our dear family friend join us. I must admit that the more mature the children have become the calmer the day has been...we really had a lovely relaxing day. Thank you for your cards of best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.
