Last week at the reenactment I bought a replica of a U.S. Springfield 1863 match grade 58 cal. rifle for $400( normal price is about $700) and it is accurate to over 700yds.


I got it used from a gun smith who took real good care of it.
He has blued the barrel(Springfield normally did not) and bored out the nipple so it will never miss fire, he gave the stock a light finish(normally they had a dark finish).
