  • To Whom It May Concern,

-So one of my goals this summer was to write about anything for at least 10 minutes a day. I know that my writing skills aren't as superb as it should be, so that's what prompted me to try writing everyday. A former English Professor of mine, actually suggested the idea to me. For acceptance into a good law school, I have to be able to write well. As you can see by my entries, I've been very inconsistent and lagging behind. Oh well. Anyhow I'm going to be playing basketball with my friends in an hour or so, so I have some time to kill right now.

-WTF.- it's been almost a week, and my professor still hasn't given us our grades yet. Hurry up and give me my grade. Thank You.

-Running Is Tiring. So I've been running a lot with a couple of my friends this week. Wow! I never knew something could be so tiring. I am competing in a 1 mile race next week for my church, I am going to run the Disneyland Half-Marathon in late August, and then the Long Beach Marathon in October. I do love running, but the effort it takes can be overwhelming at times. My chest was hurting, and my legs felt like they were going to fall apart. But the payoff is great. God gave us legs to run. Plus I like wearing my running shoes. The Nike Free Lance Armstrong Edition. ActuallyWhether I win any races or not, the fact that I'm wearing fly shoes is totally worth it. To Be Continued.

-Golfing- I love golf. I haven't had time to go this summer yet, but hopefully I can go soon. There's something about the smell of the grass that entices me every time. I suck at golf too, but I always get pulled back in by someone. Actually it's partially someone, and my passion for all things sports.

-Sleep- I'm back to a regular sleeping pattern. I'm trying to sleep more, but that is a constant struggle.

-Think Less. Speak Less. Do More. - That's what my rap cd is going to be called. Sometimes we think too much or overanalyze too many things, talk too much about it or something, when we simply just need to do it. I know that's true for me, but I'm trying to change. Many things are beyond our control. Over-thinking about it, talking about it, etc isn't going to do any good. You simply need to just do it. Whatever happens happens. That is my motto for 2008, and that is what my cd is going to be called. I have recorded over 3/4 of the cd. IT WILL BE OUT BY THE END OF JULY. I will post up a link, and you can download it for free. Whether anyone listens to it or not, I still had fun trying something that many people won't attempt. I know too many people doing rock music, etc. I'm just trying to bring some diversity, fun, etc, while doing something that i'm passionate about. There's about 17-20 songs.

-ASIA- I'm going to save my money and go to Japan this winter, and then China Summer of '09

-Christina Milian- She is so cute, yet sexy at the same time. Who could pull that off?

    Christina Milian

Okay. That is my 20 minutes of writing for this day.

  • 6/23/08

    Dear World,

I haven't updated my blog in a long while, but I do intend on updating it regularly from now on.

    1. Roger Bannister..Steve Prefontaine Time

I like to challenge myself. Ever since Junior High school, I've always been motivated by what others say that I can't do, or what other say that I am not. I admit that I do want to prove people wrong, but more importantly, I want to prove myself wrong. Sounds kind of weird to explain. Like I've mentioned many times before, I was almost cut from 3 sports in a span of one school year in high school. So that summer, I devoted hours and hours everyday trying to prove my basketball coach that he made the biggest mistake by cutting me.

Academically I haven't really pushed it as far as I can, but this summer I think I have been pushing it further than anytime in recent memory. I've devoted most of my time to studying, etc. So i know that the hard time spent will pay off.

Anyhow, back to the topic of motivation. Many may think that this is the wrong way to do things, but I don't know. Maybe I shouldn't always try to prove people wrong. I don't know. When I get rejected, told I can't, or told I don't have cetain qualites or skills, or something, I will remember it for a long long time. I have good memory. I can still recall conversations about 3-4 years ago. These little things will always be in the back of my mind. It's not like I think about it 24/7 and let it control me or anything, but it's still there in the corner of my mind whenever I need the kick of motivation.

So what does this have to do with Roger Bannister and Steve Prefontaine? Well like I previously mentioned, I like to challenge myself to weird feats and goals, and I also love competition. There's going to be a sports festival in about a month, and I want to compete in the mile. I haven't ran consistently in years, and some people mentioned that I probably couldn't finish top 3 or something. Well you know that's all i Needed to hear to kick it into full gear. So starting today I will do some training. I have about a month. Is that enough time? Maybe not, but I'm still going to try to prove myself wrong. Roger Bannister was the first person to run a sub 4 minute mile in 1954. Steve Prefontaine is a legendary runner who died very young. Anyhow, my goal is to get around 5 minutes. Right now, I can probably do 6 minutes? Not sure. Last year, I finished 5th in a field of like 12. Former controversial blogger, Joseph " Anh Thanh" Nguyen's little brother Samuel finished first last year. I'm going out on a limb by saying I will beat him this year. That's a guarantee!

    2. Kobe and The Lakers

Yeah they lost. It's ok. I shrugged it off, and let it be. Next year is our year. Haters can Hate! We don't care.

    3. POLYPHASIC SLEEP

Like I said in #1, I'm into weird goals and feats. I also like dwelling into very odd experiments. One time in High School, I wanted to see if I could go a week without talking to anyone in school. I didn't succeed. Another time, I tried to see if I could shower 4 times everyday for a month. I succeeded in that one. And I've always tried to drink at least 2 liters of water per day. I've been on and off on that one. Well lately I've heard about polyphasic sleep. If you aren't familiar with that, it's basically sleeping for 2-3 hours total everyday, but still getting enough energy as someone who sleeps their regular 7 or 8 hours. How it works is that you sleep for 20 minutes 6 times a day. So basically you will take 20 minute naps every 4 hours. If i can somehow master this one, It would be greatly beneficial for me. I would have lots of time to do other things besides sleeping. It's going to be one of the hardest things that I've ever tried to accomplish, but I guess that's what makes it exciting and fun.

    4. Obama

I decided that I'm going to write my essay paper on Obama and the racial aspects as it is concerning towards the American public, and the American Media. Hope I get an A.

    5. My Rap CD

I said it would be done by July, now I'm not so sure. With the hectic load of 15 summer school units, working-out, running miles, etc. I need a little bit more time to put the finishing touches on this great summer cd. If you liked " Stalk On You", this cd will be like that plus 200 times more. Stay Tuned.

    6. Hot Damn!
It's so freaking hot right now. It's currently 10: 22 am, and I feel like I am sitting in a sauna or a steam room minus the naked fat guys. But I love it as well. Hot weather reminds me of summer, and I get this tingling sensation whenever I think of summer. I think of bbqs, cook-outs, beaches, etc. Once I am done with my first session of summer school (july 3rd is my last day), I am going to try to go to the beach everyday for an hour or two and get a tan. Damn. There goes another goal I'm going for. Anyways. Who's Down to go with me? Call me up if you want to join me in this conquest.

  • Current Events By: The Future Prez (5/26/08)

    My Fellow Americans,

Hola! It's been about a month since the last Current Events By: The Future Prez, Ya Dig? post, so it's about time for another one.

    1. The Strawberry Festival

Just like how I think of the late 90s whenever I hear A Backstreet Boys song, whenever Memorial Day Weekend comes around, it always reminds me of The Strawberry Festival. I haven't gone to the Strawberry Festival since I was in High School. For those of you guys who aren't familiar with The Strawberry Festival, it is a carnival-like festival that comes around every Memorial Day Weekend. It is located almost right across from Garden Grove High School. When I was a junior in High School, my friends and I decided to ditch 5th and 6th period to go to the Strawberry Festival. It was supposed to only be like 4 of us going. Somewhere along the way, it ended up being about 30 guys. So we were walking like an army, when we hear sirens coming towards us. I looked up and saw 3 police cars stop and some officers hopping out of the car charging towards us with their batons in their hands. They yelled for us to stop. They lined each of us up and made us sit with our hands in our laps along the curb. Wow. It was almost like being on the show "cops". We were pulled over by The Gang Unit division. They checked to see if any of us were on probation and things like that. So I will always remember the day when I gained 10 extra points in street credibility. I'm A G Yo.

    2. The NBA PLAYOFFS!

Naturally I'm very excited about the Lakers being up 2-1 over the Spurs in the Western Confrence Finals, but something doesn't feel the same. It's not the same feeling I had back in 2000 or something. If the Lakers lose, I'm just like "oh Well. next time". Back then if they loss, I wouldn be throwing things at the television screen. Maybe I do realize that it's only a game. I'm not sure what it is. I also don't really feel like watching a lot of these Nba playoff games. It really bores me. I don't care about Pistons, Celtics, or anything other than the Lakers really. And even in the Laker games, I find myself not really watching as much as before. So yeah.

    3. Summer 2008

Lets talk about what I'm doing this summer 2008. First of all, I have summer school which starts tomorrow. I'm enrolled in 15 units for this summer. Crazy Huh? Well I think it's time I dedicate my full attention and focus on school. It's not something in which I can half-heartedly pace through anymore. As I look back at my previous school semester, I have really nothing to show for it. Now I know what I want, and I just have to put my focus into completing it as well as I possibly can. No excuses. Anyways, with the packed schedule I have, I'm trying to do many things as possible in the Summer. I know it's possible. I think it all comes down to focus and how much you really want it. Lately I've been reading books about strong-willed people. In a book about Kobe Bryant, it talks about how hard he practices and dedicates himself in being the best that he can be at what he does. That is something that separates people like Kobe over someone like Raja Bell. In the same way, I have to do what it takes to excel in my schooling. If that takes me dropping some things that take up my time, then It's something i have to be able to sacrifice.

    (summer yeahhh)

    4. I'm Off Probation.

It's official Yall. I'm off of probation. It has been six months of work, and now I'm officially a regular worker with more benefits and a slight salary hike. Looking back, it doesn't seem like 6 months. It seems like just a month ago or something that I came to the District and had an interview. For the first time in EVER, I'm actually happy working, and I actually want to do a good job at work. I've never lasted longer than 1.5 months anywhere that I've worked at. For a quick rundown, I've worked at Disneyland, Mervyn's, Chuck E. Cheeses, Circuity City, Finish Line. Think that's all. Anyhow, at places like Finish Line, I slacked off a lot. So I'm glad that I have a job that I like doing, which pays pretty well too. There is only 1 more month of work for me left. Hooray! A break is great as well.

    5. Caught In Between

I've written about drama at my workplace in previous Current Events before, but it's not over folks. Lately it has gotten to a point in which I find ridiculous. I think it's highly unprofessional how these supposedly professional teachers are acting. I find it very hypocritical how they can discipline a kindergarten student for saying someone is "stupid" or if they are fighting over a toy with each other, yet they bicker and fight with each other over the stupidest reasons. I really think that fighting over a toy is more of a legitimate reason than some of the things they fight over. There are two teachers who hate each other to death. It's quite funny. They don't speak to each other, but they have to collaborate with each other. So they speak to each other through written messages on textbook paper. What The F***? Then they make me deliver the message across. Do I look like a delivery boy? I ain't a messenger Biattchhh.
So they are really desperately trying to get me on their side so that I can back them up when they have an upcoming meeting about their performance with the higher ups. I Ain't Backing any of them up. I just want to get paid. I could care less about them and their problems. It's like a Korean Drama for me at work. Sometimes I act like I'm the sexy stud that these teachers are fighting over. I say one complimenting thing to one teacher, then say the exact same thing to the other teacher. Sarang Hae Ladies!

    6. ONE NAME TIM's RAP CD COMING JULY 2008.

The last time I released a rap cd was 2002. Six years later, another one is coming. Excluding two songs on the CD(Stalk On You, Yao Duy Dang), all the other songs were written in the last 3-4 months. So this is spanking new stuff. I don' claim to be a good rapper or anything, it's just something I enjoy doing. And apparently some of my friends want to hear it as well. That's the reason the cd is going to come. As of today, all the songs are completely written. They just need to be recorded. And with summer coming, I think I have enough time between classes to record them and release a cd in July. If any of you guys have heard the first cd in 2002, this will be a complete upgrade over that in my opinion. The songs are better. The lyrics are better, more personal, etc. Actually the lyrics are all based on things that have happened in my life recently. People, places, things, thoughts, etc that have passed through this past year, months, etc. So it's really something I put hard work into. So I think you guys will really enjoy it. And Of Course it's 100 % FREE! So Get Ready !!!!!

Here is the Tracklisting for The CD

    1. The Past Year
    2. Yao Duy Dang Ft. Joseph Chau Nguyen

alone on the road, but i feel the connection/
in the rearview, I can see my reflection/
perfection, i can sort of feel the affection/
sometimes I wish there were more days like this/
    when it pays to miss/
    feel the strays of mist/
rolling down on your wrist, and you feel the bliss/
    It's like nature's little kiss, so don't resist/
so just open up, and let it take you away/
so forget all your sorrows, you will make it okay/
music loud in the ride, no cloud in the sky/
the rose are really red, cuz the flowers are shy/
cause i'm the type of guy that can make things blush/
The spring has a crush on me, I feel the touch/
it's warmth on my skin, and I feel the rush/
todays where it begins, so I just can't hush/

from " Me and My Honda".

    7. Lost Season Finale

OMG!!! I'm so excited for the season finale of Lost. I love this show . If there's one show for me, this is it. Everything about it is so great to me. I can't wait to see what happens this Thursday! IF you've never seen LOST. Do yourself a favor, and go to Netflix or wherever and rent it. Watch It. You will not be dissapointed.

    8. Will Smith -Summertime
Classic Song that puts me in the summer mood ever year.

    Thank You.

  • Current Events By: The Future Prez (4/26/08)

    My Fellow Americans,

    1. I'M SO SICK WITH IT

It's currently 11:00 PM (PST) on a Saturday Night, and I feel like so out of it. I've been sick since Wednesday. I'm not sure if it was something I ate, or the weather, or what exactly, but I feel like like an anorexic low self-esteem girl. I don't feel like eating, and I just feel like throwing up. Why the heck am I on Xanga then? I'm not so sure myself. I've been laying in bed for the last couple of days and I feel like a zombie. I have no energy to go out of the house, and this is the best thing to do besides sleeping.

F***! I'm so angry! Due to being sick, I missed a day of work this week. My goal was to make it through my 6 months of probation, without missing a day of work. I was currently at 5 1/2 months. I really wanted to go to work, but I just couldn't force my body to even move an inch. Being sick sucks. My head is throbbing, my nose is running faster than Kenyans in a Marathon, my eyes are blood shot red, I feel cold one minute, hot the next, and I'm losing my taste. Let's hope I get better by tomorrow or soon....

    2. THERE GOES MY SHOT AT THE NBA.

I had a chance at stardom. I had the chance to live out every little boy's dream. I could have made millions of dollars shooting a basketball. I could have had groupies follow me on the road. I could have multiple baby mommas, and be paying child support. I could have been a professional basketball player, but unfortanatley that dream died last Sunday. There were scouts in the stands I tell you. They were there.

Okay. I'm exagerating a little bit. Anyways my intramural basketball team got eliminated in the first round of the playoffs last week. It was pretty bad. We were crushed. We finished the regular season rated #3 out of a 10 team league. Despite having only 5 players on our squad and being undersized, we played with passion, and we have lots of skills. Therefore we were beating teams pretty easily until last Sunday. We just couldn't hit a shot, and that was the story. Overall I'm happy with the season. More than basketball itself, I'm very proud of the guys on my team. They're good friends, and are very cool people. If basketball wasn't there, I'm sure we would still be good friends. With a few guys graduating, I'm not sure that we'll ever play together again, but I've had good memories this season with the guys. We would always eat at Yoshinoya(that place sucks.btw.) near our school before every game, then play with a full stomach and still cream the other teams. I know some of them read my blog so thank you Brian, Patrick, Chris, and Shawn " Slim Doggy Dogg". OH yeah, shout outs to Jason, Melissa, and Anabel for cheering us on in the games! Love those Posters! "We Believe"-Great season!

    3. MY CAR HAD PLASTIC SURGERY!
    DSC03928

    DSC03930

My car was finally fixed. Yippe! Benson Auto Body is the Shizz! Get your car fixed there!

    4. CONTESTANT #3 DRESSES FEMININE AND HAS A BAD HAIRSTYLE

The video of my appearance on the dating show is finally here. Someone said that I dress feminine and had a bad hair style. HAHA. You know you're famous when you got haters! Ok, maybe not. Maybe my hair was crappy. Anyhow enjoy. They edited out a lot of things in the recording. So you are only seeing like 1/3 of the whole thing. I'm also half-smiling/shaking a lot because there were people in the audience who tried to make me laugh. the whole time I was trying to not laugh, and look at the camera. TRUSIVE!!!!!

    5. 200 POUNDS OF BEAUTY
When it's close to 2 A.M. in the morning, and you have work the next day, and you can't sleep, what do you do? I tried counting sheeps, but that didn't quite work. So I busted out my laptop and searched for some Korean Movies to watch to help me sleep. Somehow I landed on this movie by pure chance. My 200 pounds of beauty. It's about an aspiring singer who is too fat to become a star...etc...One day a guy she likes hurts her, so She gets plastic surgery and then becomes beautiful and a star. Pretty decent actually. not bad at all..

    6. PULPARINDO

So I have a new hobby now. I've bought a whole mess of Mexican Candy. I'm trying to purchase every kind of Mexican Candy that is out. I've got the popular Vero Balls, Pulparindo, Lucas, etc. So if you need a quick fix, you know the dealer to holla at.

    7. KOBE IS MY HERO.

Kobe was my hero in 1996. I was in elementary school and he captured my soul. This year, he has been outstanding. Today I was feeling sick as a dog, but after watching the Lakers Game, I felt better. It was like instant medicine. Who needs a prescription for antibiotics when you have Kobe Bryant and the Lakers? The Lakers are going to win this Year! Kobe is MVP.

DSC03956 ( KOBE BRYANT ENDORSES TIM PHAM FOR PRESIDENT)

    8. MYSTERIOUS GIRL WHO IS A FAN OF MY BLOG
So I received a call from some of my friends, and then they passed it on to this girl. The phone conversation went something like this.

Girl: Hi! Are you the Tim Pham for President Guy?
me: Yes. I think I am Him!
Girl: Wow! How Cool! I love your Blog. I always read it.
    me: Oh Cool!

Hey Mysterious Girl from San Diego... thank you for reading my blog. Your voice sounded so sweet and sexy over the phone. I am so baffled by your mysterious identity. Please reveal yourself to me. My heart is aching and crying, because I do not know who you are. As the rapper Fabolous stated in his song with The Dream called " Shawy is a Ten", " Hotter Than a Flame/But I do not know your name/. " There was something about your voice that captured me. Though our phone conversation lasted only for a few minutes, I am so intrigued by your mysteriousness, your voice, and the fact that you read my blog. Please tell me who you are. I want to meet you.

Until then, I dedicate this song to you.

That's IT For now...I need sleep...Still kind of sick..

  • Current Events By: The Future Prez Vol. 8

    My Fellow Americans,

Welcome to the 8th volume of Current Events. This should be a good one.

    1. What's Your Favorite Shape?

Do you like rectangles? Do you like squares? Hearts? Well I tend to like the circle. The circle of life. In terms of my academic career, the circle represents it pretty well. Basically I've dropped out of all my classes at school for this Spring 2008 semester. I'm back to the major that I started with about 3 years ago. Basically I've driven around in circles. I'm not sure how I feel about it right about now. Part of me feels like a loser, but the other part of me feels like I at least know what I enjoy now. Life is a one ongoing process. Hmm....yeah..that's pretty much all I can say right now..

    2. My 2 Minutes Of Fame:Dating Show
    DSC03913
    (Yep. I got paid.)
It may take me another 2,000 years to receive my SAG Card, but at least I can say I was on TV. If I could predict the amount of people watching VHN-TV, I would say no more than 20 people. Anyhow, I was on the dating show about two weeks ago. It was a pretty fun experience. It's pretty cool how they edit and do all of those types of behind the scene things that you don't get to see on tv. I'm not going to give the results away, but when it becomes available on youtube, I will upload it. Thanks to those who came out to support! A girl from San Fran named Charlene Phan was the model who was the "prize" or whatever they call it. She seemed pretty cool and friendly. The other guys seemed laid-back, but we made some good Television overall.

    3. COCO RICO

Lately I've been drinking something I used to really enjoy as a kid. Coco Rico Soda. Some people claim that it's for vietnamese mothers to cook with, but I always believed that it was for my personal consumption. Anyhow, I forgot about it for a while. I tried to cut Soda from my diet in the last 3-4 years, so I tried my best to avoid sweet carbonated drinks like the plague or something. But Coco Rico was sitting in my cabinet, so I had to take a sip or two.
CoCo Rico Forever! It's From Puerto Rico btw.

    5. My Basketball Team MADE THE PLAYOFFS!

This sunday is our playoffs. I'm excited Yo! Ready to lace my shoes up and go to battle. Even if we don't go all the way, I'm pretty proud of the guys on my team. We're the most undersized team, but we play like there's no tomorrow. The guys on my team play with 100 percent effort every game. It's been a pretty good season....

    6. My Birthday

I turn a year older on April 13. I'm not going to have a party or anything. I haven't had a bday party since I was 18 or something. I'm probably just going to eat out with my family, and then hang out with some friends.

    Yeah...birthday....ok...

    Good Night South Africa,
