Weekly Photo Challenge

The PHOTO CHALLENGE this week is,"how was your Holiday ?" suggested by LADYLIONESS1973.
our last holiday was in 2003, we went to Normandy, north western France.
we saw beaches, horses, cows, junkshops, camped in a car graveyard, saw lamas and goats on roofs, slept in a hay barn, walked through old villages, and met up with some old friends too,
This is a view of OMAHA BEACH where some of the D Day landings took place,

The photo in the hay was great.  And, how do goats get on the roof anyway?

That's just the kind of holiday I have in mind for when we have wheels. Easy-going, stop wherever, find out of the way places to explore, fresh air.The bed in the barn was especially good! Omaha beach must have been quite sobering, we saw a dramatisation of the landing just last week on TV.

Any chance of you doing this again? Five years is a long time ago. I think this is the first time I've watched someone else's slide show on Flickr, being able to view it full screen is a big plus. You got in quick on this challenge, it isn't even posted yet at 3am my time!

@llibra - You mean you've never seen French flying goats?

@Zimbo - Omaha beach is , well just a beach really, there are some museums and exibitions about D Day but as always they want an arm and a leg to get in , we have two or three friends in normandy, the camping in the car graveyard is at one of them, i'll be putting more about that at flikr soon, the bbq is next door to them at other friends and the haybed at yet another friend who had just bought an old farmhouse and the choice was the floor or the hay, the hay was softer! we would love to go there again , although its closer to go to england than to normandy, but who knows one day.................. yes i was quick , i didnt post at photo challenge till just now

Sounds like you had or are having a birthday.  Happy Birthday Tim and MANY MORE.

I really enjoyed your slide show.  I always thought I would have enjoyed being a part of a real cattle drive like in the movie "City Slickers" with Billy Crystal.  I think working vacations could be a lot of fun, work but fun.   Sleeping in a barn in hay would be work for me now, just getting up off the floor.  Loved the first image with the Rooster.

Have a super week and another BIG Happy Birthday,

What a surprise to know you are born in Middlesex and you lived there until you move in France . Finally Middlesew is a important county since you are born there .

Looks like good fun. I love the sleeping quarters! Whenever I go to Flanders and Normandy I always get a little meloncholy - because of the history - but it is a lovely area.

Ops... Sorry Tim for my rudeness...

Thank you so much for your kind words about my granddaughter who didn't born yet… YES! IT’S A GIRL! YOU ARE THE FIRST TO KNOW! =) I'm going to post about her when I have a little more time… My daughter is in her 5th month and now she will have to be in bed most of the time until the end, just like with Artur… but it's all for the best! =)

Isabel
