Today, for lack of anything better to do, I decided it was time to "inventory" my clothes, discarding various items for one reason or another. I wasn't sure what my prerequisites were going to be when I started, but it didn't take me long to find some solid parameters.

- fleece pull-overs covered in pet hair. I don't even own a pet :shock:

- hoodies celebrating sports-teams that have been defunct for years

- cargo-shorts that make me look like Jaba the Hut on safari

- anything with the words "Puma" or "Reebok" on it

- souvenir t-shirts from places I've never visited :cry:

This just makes me laugh. I know I could just write "LOL" and all, but I'm throwing it out with your clothes because it really doesn't do justice to the full breadth of my laughing at things that make me smile like this. :)

My aunt used to get me souvenir t-shirts from places all the time, and I couldn't stand it. Why would I want to advertise a place I've never been. Oddly though I do wear a Seattle shirt my brother bought me, though it kind of goes against my rules.

Good parameters! I could never follow the first one though, with 2 cats and a dog there's hair everywhere. If I threw out everything covered in pet hair I'd have nothing to wear! :-p

RYC: Initially, maybe, but there are plenty of community/independent churches around the nation who believe in a general "community of saints". In their view, the road to salvation requires that one simply accept Jesus - regardless of specific denomination. The church near my home, for example, is "Christian" but unaffiliated with a larger organization. They certainly don't believe that the Sunset Covenant Church is the one true church and would likely agree with the statement that their Methodist, Presbyterian, and perhaps even Catholic friends are just as saved as they are.

I try and get rid of clothes but some of them are MEMORY items, you know? Like the sweater I stole from my sister in high school and wore when I was out way too late with a boy and ended up getting in serious trouble with my dad and then was wearing when I finally got together with that boy 2 years later... And my excellent jumping pants from a boyfriend in college and a sweater from my other sister that doesn't look right but makes me think of her whenever I see it... Maybe I should take pictures and get rid of them but I'm just not ready yet!!!
