  • Tuesday

    So today wasn't the best day.  I was very stressed about my children's medical issues and so I ate poorly for dinner, but it is one meal and I must move on.

    Breakfast - granola bar and fruit strip (I have to find something quick for me to eat for breakfast...any ideas?)
    Lunch - Carlos O' Kelly's - fajitas, lunch size, I ate all of it and then all the rice (but not the beans), also had a FEW chips with cheese sauce on them
    Dinner - Oh what didn't I eat....ummm...I think 2 chicken fingers, a bunch of pizza rolls, mac and cheese (prolly 3/4c), corn (prolly 1/4c), a few dunkin apples, and a few bites of fish (I got an entire serving of fish and realized I was way too full and had already ate way too much so I gave the rest to my hubby)
    Snack - 1 bars from my Lindt creme brulee bar (soooo yummy and now soooo gone)

    Since I had had such a bad day I made the decision not to walk especially since my toes were still hurting and last night I thought my ankles might brake.  But then after I at all that for dinner I decided I should walk.  So I went but I asked Marsha to shorten it to 2 laps tonight.  I won't be walking tomorrow but I will be out and about so hopefully that will make up for it.

  • Labor Day

    So my wonderful hubby had the day off today.  And although we really need to spend like an entire week on our house we just can't seem to sit at home when he is off work...we just have to go and do stuff.  So today we drove to Bloomington (about an hour away) and went to the zoo and the water park (as in a play ground that has water areas, not like big water theme park or anything).

    So food today
    Breakfast - Live Activia granola bar and a fruit strip (bad breakfast but I was in a hurry and I knew if I didn't eat SOMETHING I would binge later, so this is what I grabbed).
    Lunch - turkey sandwich (wheat bread, 6 slices thin turkey, 1 piece of 2% cheese and mustard), like less than a handful of cheetos, a handful of trail mix, a kiwi, a fruit strip (these are 100% organic fruit ones I got from target)
    Dinner - Fazoli's - this was a bad deal for me because their salad did just not sound good so I got chicken parmesan which is way bad for you, BUT I got a side salad with light ranch dressing and only ate half my meal, and I had 1 breadstick because they are just too good to not eat one.
    Dessert - went to Cold Stone Creamery, I got the small scoop and only ate about 3/4 of it
    Snack - handful of dried fruit and handful of cashews

    Then we walked 3 times around Marsha's again tonight...whew I was so exhausted by the end of the night.  Not sure why either.  My toes are really hurting when I walk.  They almost feel like they have broken but only when I like really walk.  I don't know what the deals is.  One day after my walk when they FIRST started hurting they both had big bruises on top but they went away quickly and never came back.  Not sure what is up with that.

    I weighed 227 today...down .5 from yesterday, GO ME.

  • Sunday

    I would like to start journaling my journey so I can see what I ate and when I lost weight what I did that week, etc.  So I am going to try to start that...we shall see. 

    What I ate today (at least what I remember, hehe)
    Breakfast - 2 eggs with 1 slice of 2% cheese, 1 kiwi, 1/2 c. milk
    Snack - serving of pita chips
    Lunch - pot roast, potatos and carrots.  I went back for seconds of the pot roast and carrots because I still felt hungry but after that I felt STUFFED.
    Snack - few bits of rice crisps (decided I really wanted to loose weight and if I ate those I would eat the whole bag so I put them back), a  fruit cup of oranges (no sugar added), and a south beach diet hazelnut creame bar
    Snack - like 3 handfuls of trail mix (here is where I was hungry and should have made dinner but snacked instead)
    Dinner - low carb tortilla with grilled chicken and 2% shredded cheese, carrots with splenda brown sugar on top
    Snack (to take with my vitamins) - small handful of dried fruit and VERY small handful of unsalted cashews.

    Man when I write it all out it seems like a ton, but I think I did really good for me.  I then walked 3 times around Marsha's (one of my walking buddies) neighborhood which took like an hour and half...ugh I am tired! 

    Today when I got on the scale this morning I was 227.5lbs (on my scale, not sure on Wii Fit as I have it set to just tell my BMI and I can't member it right now).  On Thursday I was 231 which is my highest weight ever not pregnant and very close to my highest weight ever even pregnant.  It was then that I started not only exercising (which I had been doing for about a week then) but I really started to watch what I put in my mouth.  It was a bit of a wake up call for me.  I didn't believe it at first, but it was true.  So I think loosing 2.5lbs in a few days is doing pretty fabulously.  I know you loose a lot of weight your first week compared to the rest of your weight watching time but thats good with me!  Alright off to have a good night's sleep....I'm exhuasted!

  • buffet success

    So I went to a pizza buffet today.  I usually do really, really, really bad at buffets.  Well I knew I was going so I planned ahead.  I decided I was going to have a salad (or 2 if needed) then 2 slices of stuffed crust pizza (my fav), a small amount of pasta, and 1 thing of dessert breadstick (actually half a breadstick).  So I went and I stuck with it except for the breadstick that didn't sound good but they had pudding and nilla waffers which looked really good and I think was better for me than the dessert anyway.  And then when I left the buffet I both felt satisfied and happy...not guilty and stuffed.  It was very nice!!!

  • Enlisting help

    So yesterday I broke down and asked my friend Amy for help.  She has lost 34lbs in the last few months.  So last night after life builders she and i were just talking and i told her i really needed to loose weight and start exercising.  She invited me to join her walking every night.  She already walks with one friend, Marsha, and I was welcome to join them.  So last night i did.  It was a lot of fun.  I got exercise and I got to spend time chatting with friends, what is better?  Now they go every night but I am going to aim for 4+ nights a week.  And I am going to make a grocery list.  My son, William, is having some major problems so I am going to changing his diet.  I am going to be increasing the fiber.  Josiah is also getting to the point that he eats almost everything we do so I want to get to the point that I make 1 thing for breakfast and serve it to everyone and not make 3 different meals. 

    Alright, gotta go plan my menus...see ya!

  • I am a SAHM of 2 wonderful boys. I use to be very involved with my church and hope to be again once my kids get a bit older. Jesus is number one in my life and I need to keep Him there! i also am trying to loose weight, aren't we all? I really am not doing it to be skinny, but that is a nice side effect. I want to be healthy. I also am attempting flylady. I love her encouragement and I am trying to get my house ready to sell!
