  • Rebirth...

I had a dream last night that I went to the refrigerator, I got out a carton of eggs...I picked out an egg and held it.  It was heavier than most eggs usually feel.  It still had a tiny feather stuck to it.  Do you ever get those?  I buy the brown eggs, so every once in awhile I'll get those.  Anyway, this egg in my hand was slightly misshapen.  I didn't want to open it because I was afraid of what I might find.  But, it slipped out of my hands and cracked open in the sink.  A huge skin bubble emerged from the cracked shell.  Out of the skin bubble came the cutest little live baby chick I ever saw.  I was laughing and called for my husband to come see this.

    Meaning on Dreammoods.com:

    Eggs

To see or eat eggs in your dream, symbolizes fertility, birth and your creative potential.  It indicates that something new is about to happen.

To find a nest filled with eggs in your dream, signifies some financial gain; the more abundant and bigger the eggs, the more significant the gain.

To see cracked or broken eggs in your dream, denotes that you will suffer from many disappointments and misfortunes. It is indicative of a fragile state in your life and feelings of vulnerability. Alternatively, you may be breaking out of your shell and being comfortable with who you are.

To see bright colored eggs in your dream, symbolizes celebration of a happy event.

To dream of rotten eggs, signifies loss. You may have allowed some situation to take a turn for the worse.

To see fish eggs in your dream, represents an idea that has emerged from your unconscious.

I think this dream was a good sign.  Now off to the Franklin Park Conservatory with a class of 30 1st graders!  WOOO!

Oh, and I mostly finished my piece for the bike show.  I forgot to take my camera again.  So you'll have to wait for photos.

    Peekin' In

WOW!  It has been awhile.  Hasn't it?    I have to take a small bit of time to gripe about Xanga not being consistent with sending me my subs.  I feel so out of touch with the Xanga community!  When I get my subs daily, I can keep up.  But I can't keep up by just watching for your updates on my main page.  Is there anything we can do about this?  Come on Xanga!!  Okay, I'm done.

I have been busy, busy preparing for this.  It is very cool that biking is catching on in our city.  Considerbiking.org is curating this show to further spread the cycling bug.  Our Mother Arts group will have at least seven pieces from just our group.  Yeah.  We are getting our own wall.  I am so psyched.  I'll post pics.

    Off to a new home!

Creativity is catching!!  Hubs has been working on this.  Isn't he awesome?  He is having a great time!  I love seeing him excited about something creative.  His aura glows and his beautiful face softens.  It is tricky to add stuff into our lives.  But with less blogging and a little more organization, we are making it work.  One thing we are now doing that helps is a daily load of laundry instead of doing all of it on Sunday.  Hubby puts a load in the washer in the morning.  I put it in the dryer when I get home at 4pm.  Then after dinner, whoever is not doing the kitchen clean up, folds the laundry.  Then that is one less thing we have to do on the weekend.  BTW - Suggestions and tips for streamlining and organizing are welcome.

We went to see this over the weekend.  If anyone is looking for a comic appropriate for kids or for family members to enjoy together, Jeff Smith's Bone series is awesome.  My kids and husband love it.  It has been described as Looney Tunes meets The Lord of the Rings.  Jeff Smith is a Columbus native and continues to live and work here.  It was cool to hear him speak and to see that he was just a guy with an idea.  His path wasn't a straight one either.  He tried to do other things that seemed more "adult" or "stable."  But, he eventually realized he wouldn't be happy doing anything else.  So he gave it a shot and his wife gave him a year to get it off the ground.  She supported him as a computer programmer and eventually had to quit her job to be his business manager as things started taking off.  I love stories like this where people follow their dreams and they come true.  Sigh.

Must go cook dinner.  Gotta go back into my studio tonight.  Pictures soon I promise.

  • Thanks everybody for your suggestions.  My jaw is almost completely pain free.  That is the weirdest pain I have ever had.  Does that just happen as you get older?  Just random pains stop in and say hello?  Oh, and thanks Alissa for the sympathy aches.  You are such an empath.

Stop in, if you would, and say hello to my new friend Casey.  She is a fairly new mama artist searching like the rest of us.  I have told her how supportive the Xanga community is.  Please say hello to her if you get a chance.

My friend Steven helped me photograph some of my artwork yesterday.  He was tremendously helpful.  He is a photoillustrator, which I now know is one of the greatest jobs in the whole wide world.  He basically plays all day long in between naps.  I learned new things about my camera and had a great time.  I need to check out Lamb:  The Gospel According to Biff and Smiley Face.  Both come highly recommended by my favorite photoillustrator.  The latter is a tale of Jesus' antics with his childhood pal Biff and Smiley Face is a stoner movie.  I laughed out loud several times watching the trailer.  Steven says you'll get a buzz just watching the film.  I'll let you know when I see it.

Today, I am continuing my root chakra work and plan to have sme down time playing guitar or something.  Have I told anyone yet about my dream to play cello?  Well, I LOVE the cello.  When I hear it, it is like someone is playing my heart.  It just moves me.  So, I am thinking about looking into how much lessons would cost.  I don't have a cello either.  I best look into getting one somehow.

We are making plans for summer.  Oldest's math teacher has recommended summer school.  NOT.  I don't think so.  He has worked soooo hard this year.  We will do homeschooling this summer to keep things sharp.  I was also thinking about consulting with the 5th grade math teacher and seeing if she could hook me up with materials or resources to help him get ready for 5th grade.  I believe that in order for kids to love learning and to be lifelong learners, you have to give them control over what they learn.  That is when learning is fun.  I think there is benefit to learning things you don't particularly want to learn at time.  But, so much self knowledge, confidence and zeal for learning is compromised if kids don't have the opportunity to explore their own interests.  So, I am empowering him to say NO to summerschool and to use the summer to follow his heart and learn what he wishes.  Math will come.  There is time.  Why does it have to be on someone else's timetable?  If he is behind and it bothers him, then he'll let me know and we'll do something about it.  But his grade is a solid "c" which I think is just fine for his first year in public school.  In fact I think it is great and if he has c's forever, that is okay as long as it isn't bothering him.  Thoughts anyone?  Back me up here peeps...  Well, you can disagree too if you want to.

We walked to school yesterday and my youngest was picking the seeded dandelions and blowing them to make wish after wish.  It was soooo cute and we were almost late (again - ssshhh) but when I listened to what he was saying, he was saying things like, "I wish my brother has a good day, " then, "I wish my mom has a good day."  So sweet.  The boy was thinking of everyone.  So I leave you with this.

  • HELP!

Okay.  Yesterday was a day of family and fun.  We let the kids stay home from school.  They both have coughs, but aren't feverish or anything.  So we let them stay home and then we played all day.  But get this, we went to the movies to see Forbidden Kindom with Jackie Chan (so fun!) and as I was sitting there, my right jaw began to hurt significantly for seemingly no reason.  I haven't bumped it or been hit.  I haven't been clenching my jaw.  Besides, when I do that both sides get sore.  But this is a pain beyond sore and it got worse over night.  There is no swelling and I do not have a toothache.  Does ANYONE have an idea what could be causing this pain?  I can barely open my mouth and it even hurts to talk.  I am not meaning to sound whiney.  I am more confounded by the sudden onset and degree of pain without any significant cause.  Weird.
