Wanna know how to be Blessed ??? Wanna know how to be delivered in times of trouble ? Want to know how to be preserved and kept alive ? Wanna know how to be delivered from your enemies ? Wanna know how to be strengthened and sustained in your sickness and disease ? Psalms 41:1-3 gives us the answers to these questions ...
Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; (Now ... not just in heaven) You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed. .. And who exactly are the poor ? Those without money, those without a hope in this world, those who are widowed/orphaned, those who are afflicted physically and emotionally, oppressed and/or imprisoned, handicapped ... those who are spiritually afflicted (those w/o Christ). .. The Bible contains over 300 verses concerning the poor, and God's deep concern for those who have fallen into this state. What does it mean "CONSIDER THE POOR" ? Does this mean we are to hand them money ? Well yeah... if that is what we feel led by the Lord to do ! BUT giving someone who is financially set back ... money... isn't always the way to go. We often times would be more wise to give them food,
warm clothing, help provide medical care, do volunteer work (at the local homeless shelter/soup kitchen/YMCA),
help in transporting them, pray and interceded for them. (or give to organizations/churches that do) .. teach them a trade/skill, give them work, give them words of encouragement and Godly counsel ... etc.
whatever seed you have to sow is were to start ! I am preaching to my self here !!! .. As I sat looking at all of the recent doctor bills last year... (read about our miracle linked above) I scratched my head and I thought to myself... how in the world are we ever going to be able to pay these ??? My mistake was ... looking at it with worldly eyes
...which did make it seem impossible ! Then I got to thinking... we have already seen more than half of these promises in this scripture come to pass ... The Lord did deliver us in time of trouble. The Lord did preserve Steven and kept HIM alive, The Lord did strengthen Steven on his bed of illness; The Lord did sustain him on his sickbed. .. I have to ask myself why I ever waviered in my faith that the Lord will continue to deliver us ??? We have been tithers (Mal 3:10) and givers (2Cor. 9:7) since we have believed ... we are not going to stop now ! And the Good Lord isn't going to stop now !!! Today I got to sit down and write checks for three of the bills, I was so excited ! I stuck a note in bringing attention to them being "paid in full" and sent Christmas greetings. .... Only five to go ... (out of over 30 from 3 dif hospitals and care flights) and I have a feeling they will be paid off quicker than
the payment plans are set up for ! After going through what we went through, most families would be in the poor house. The fact that we are not is only by the grace of a Faithful Father !!! But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.
As it is written: "He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever."*
Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, 2 Corinthians 9:6 - 12 traceoffaith
