During my year off I will be taking Biology DL from Liberty, working in the local film industry, teaching debate at a private co-op, coaching debate and junior speech at my old club and teaching an apologetic class.
The art of doing nothing

Hey everyone sorry I haven't written anything in awhile; this semester tech decided to start blocking access to the campus network to students with Windows XP home. Since I have Windows XP Home and do not wish to spend $200 buying a new operating system I have no internet. But since its spring break at PHC I can once again use the internet.

So what have I've been up to since my last post? Well I haven't made any new movies sadly; I have a partial script for a 20 min film and a finished script for a 5 min short. Unfortunately filming during midterms was not possible so I will be filming after I get back from spring break. On the plus side however I do have my own camera now so filming should be easier.

Besides judging at debate and speech tournaments I haven't really gotten off campus that much since my brother got his drivers licence and I gave him my car. Judgings been fun though; at the NVCC tournament I got to judge the final LD round.

Back at school I've gotten though my Theology II midterm and have three more midterms to look forward to when I get back.

Well I'm sure by now most of you are bored reading this so I'll sign off for now; tune in next week where I'll be making random shout outs to people so random people will come to my site when they search for their names. It's really a great way to drive up hits. Like if I put "George Bush" on my Xanga I will get atleast ten more hits than normal this week.

Ya'll have a great week.

Tuesday, November 28, 2006

Over this semester I have been filming and editing a parody of the famous PHC series Hitman. And tonight I was able to release it on the internet.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1940943549490001447&hl=en

Wednesday, November 08, 2006

A light rain falls on the campus but the mood of the campus is already dampened. The elections yesterday were disappointing to most PHC students. The students we sent out to campaign are returning; most of them from defeated campaigns. Here is Virginia Sen. Allen is not looking good and the Democrats have control of the House. There are some bright spots on campus; those of us who don't really see a difference between Republicans and Democrats don't expect this Congress to be too diffrent from the last one. But a bright spot for the entire campus is the fact that the Democrats get to make fools of themselves the two years before the 2008 elections.

Friday, November 03, 2006

Yesterday the Blue Ridge Leader ran a front page story accusing Patrick Henry College of breaking campaign laws. The picture they took showed some political signs on the corner of RT 278 and Main Street.; which is near PHC property. In reality the college does not own the property; no one from the newspaper bothered to call the College to confirm their story. Now the Blue Ridge Leader is a weekly paper so any correction would not appear until next week and would not be on the front page. So last night Dr. Farris printed up press releases showing very clearly that the College does not own the property in question. About 20-25 students then went out to the local neighborhoods and handed out the press releases.

Monday, October 30, 2006

Last Friday I went to Annandale for the second NVCC practice tournament and got to judge a TP round. I also got to debate an LD round; I ran a case with a Value of National Sovereignty with a Criteria of Noninterference. The round was a lot of fun; I got to argue about Israel, Lebanon, Hamas, Japan during WWII, the Iraq War, the Founding Fathers and the French Revolution.

In closing be on the look out for a video by Silver Productions in the coming weeks.

Tuesday, October 10, 2006

Sorry its been awhile since I've updated. I'm in the middle of mid-terms week; Biology, Lab, Theology and History. I've found that studying in the elevator in my dorm is very helpful.

Two weeks ago I went to Annandale for the first NVCC practice speech and debate tournament; I judged impromptu. Afterwards I went to Fuddrukers with the club. Next time, when it's debate, a bunch of us from PHC will come and judge debate.

I've been filming a movie over the past two week and I'm hopefully going to finish it next week. I'll post it on google video when its done. I've had some set backs in filming; last week I accidently deleted an entire days footage. I've also had some problems scheduling filming with mid-terms coming up. The film I'm doing right now is being produced by The Freshman Gang; a new film group on campus. However the more established film group on campus has agreed to produce my next project. I'm very excited about that as the more established group has better equipment and the thing I'm most excited about; music. They actually have people who do music for their movies.

Well I've g2g study for my midterms.

Sunday, September 17, 2006

Today was the table tennis tournament. I play singles and doubles; in singles I lost my first game to Andrew. He went on to be second in doubles with Ben Fan so it was a kinda good loss.

In doubles I did not have a partner as some confusion had caused me to lose my partner the day before. When I got there I asked Daniel Hebda if there was an opening and he said there was. So he was looking for a partner for me when Dr. Farris walks up and asks if he can play.

So I got to play doubles with Dr. Farris; we won our first game but lost the second 21-18.

Later that night after I had studied some chemistry I played Halo with some guys. I was playing with two upperclassmen who decided I was killing them too much so they teamed up against me. Even though it was 2-1 I beat them.

Also another exciting thing tonight was that some one chained the D5 doors shut so nobody could get out. Eventually Jordan Estrada was able to get some giant pliers and cut us out.

Thus ended my exciting night.

Thursday, September 07, 2006

The last two days of the AOE tournament has been going well, I've won all my games so far. Last night I finished the game in 45 mins. I think tonight I might go against one of the really good teams.

In History today we had a very interesting conversation. The Prof. asked the question, "Is slavery unscriptural?" We had a very heated discussion in which we talked about the diffrence between OT slavery and American slavery and how does the OT apply to today. Many students went away angry because the Prof wouldn't define any terms such as slavery or unsciptural.

Today at lunch Jenna got up and told every one it was my birthday so they sang Happy Birthday to me. She also gave me a card a bunch of people had signed, a bag of M&Ms, and some silly putty.

Well I've got some laundry going and I have to do some theology HW.
