To Write or not to write, that is the question.

So I am thinking of writing a book. It seems these days that not only genuinely good books sell, but controversial books sell too. There was a guy on Oprahs book club that apparently lied about his story. Because of that, all these people that never heard of his book (Us who do not watch operah), all of a sudden seen his book and name flashed on the news headlines because he lied in it and operah was pist off for recommending his book. However, do you think that hurt him? Maybe his reputation. But financially, he probably sold more books when all the controversy came. I doubt it hurt his book sales. He may never be able to sell a book under the same name again, but he can easily change it on the book. And he can write comfortably on his ocean side secluded home doing so.

What about the "Davinci code?" (not sure its spelled right) It was a controversial book because it questioned religion. It sold more books because everyone was talking about the controversy.

So it would almost seem like there are two types of writers (ok a lot more than 2) you have the writers who want to sell books by telling a great story, or you have the writer who is intentionally choosing a controversial subject in hopes it will piss a lot of people off and make news headlines, thereby selling more books.

With all this being said, I have an idea for a book, that combines both those writers. I would write the book because I want to tell stories. But I also have a good controversial theme in the book. My problem you ask?? Well, it is sooooooo controversial, that I am not lying, part of my family might possibly write me off as a non family member. I would seriously lose the trust, love, friendship of very close loved ones. It would be like stabbing them in the back. However, my eyes have $$ in them. Maybe I could pay them to remain family after a million books sell?

So, if anybody reads this, please leave a comment on what you would do. Do you risk the family writing you off? If I write the book, I may be able to convince them that it was "FICTION" and that I was just writing it to write the book (which is partially a lie). Or just let this great idea be written for myself and never published? Or last but not least, do I write it and sell it under a different name, and hopefully never be interviewed about the book??

Anyways, give me your thoughts, ideas, suggestions.

I was lying there, dead

All thoughts had ceased

No more pain

No more heartache

I felt that I was floating

I was comfortable

I knew not where my soul was

But my body was sitting on the medical table

The doctor reaches towards my face

He begins to shut my eyes

The dim ceiling light fades

Darkness

Within seconds, I feel a hand on my face

Did the Dr. Change his mind?

The hand begins to open my eyes

It’s no longer a dim light

The light is a million times brighter

Yet my eyes don’t squint

I look to the person who opened my eyes

It’s not the Dr. after all

I look around

I see all my loved ones that died before me

They are smiling at me, happy

The lord takes my hand and smiles, “Follow me”

I was filled with sorrow

Pain was all I could feel

Confusion as to why I existed

Disappointment that I have lived so long

I wanted the end

So many had gone before me

I am not needed here

I was not worthy

As I walked the streets

I tripped over a book

I reached down to pick it up

And noticed someone discarded the bible

Ive never read it before

But feel my heart turning inside just holding the book

It has power

I open it and begin to read

Within minutes of reading a few verses

My sorrow begins to leave me

The pain is no longer there

I am being healed by words

Understanding goes through my mind

My existence seems meaningful

I am happy to be alive

I am thankful for the sacrifice that has saved me

My heart is happy

But I have a new task

There are others out there like me

I must now leave my book for them

Well, I dont really have a poem idea today. However, I have decided I will be a professional gamer for my career. My business degree just went down the toilet. Its no longer required. Why should I work hard and get underpaid for some company, while being miserable cuz its not something I truly enjoy, when I could be playing video games and making what I am worth? That is kinda like the sales motto. You make what you are worth. Whether you are in real estate, insurance, car sales, you make whatever effort you put into it. The same goes with video gaming. If you practice 8 -10 hrs a day at home, in preparation of that one tournament down the road, and you win, it is all worth it.  Because if you win, you can take home $150,000 in prize money. You are putting in the same effort as other working people, by spending 8-10 hrs, sometimes even doing overtime just to make sure you are up to par. Its just that as a video gamer, you are having fun in your job. People will say that is not a real job because they envy you. They know that you are having fun at your job and getting paid more, so they cant say anything good about it.

So yes, I have decided I will become a professional gaming engineer aka professional gaming specialist. Ok well, that is my bit today. What made me think of this topic? I seen this guy who goes by the name fatal1ty interviewed on 60 minutes or something. Anyways, here is the web page for him. It has a link about the nbc special on him. And the $150000 he won playing games.

Uhhh...no....Im totally over my dog and this has no reference to her whatsoever. Hey, did you know I come from OZ? No really!

The rain has fallen

It was unexpected as usual

The weatherman failed to predict this gloomy day

He let everyone down

We had plans to do today

I was going to play, and throw the ball

I was going to train her new tricks

We were going to run thru fields together

She was vibrant and new

The day started out with sunshine

Everything was going to plan

Everyone was happy

But all things come to an end

Sometimes to a crashing halt

The sun turned black

And the rays started to melt in the sky

A poison filled my lungs

It placed my heart in my throat

Rain filled my eyes

Lightning filled my head

A light broke thru the darkness

A question was asked

“Does the storm carry on slowly?”

“Or do you send the storm off now?”

The answer seemed easy at the moment

But storms don’t leave without changing something in their path

I wished the storm had not come at all

“Away with the storm” I reply

The storm has left and everything has changed

The day seems semi bright now

But I know better than to trust the weatherman

He has let me down more than once

Yeah, so just a change in thought, I live in Utah and right now we have an inversion. People who dont know weather, may have no clue what that means. But yesterday was a perfect example. Normally, the higher in altitude you go, the colder it gets. Well, here in salt lake valley at 4200 ft above sea level it was 22 F  degrees. However, at Alta ski resort 8600 ft above sea level, it was 45F degrees, 23F degrees warmer in the mountains than the valley. So yeah, that means its raining in the mountains and snowing in the valley. JFYI.
