Caballos Peruanos de Paso

Apart from the Festivals de Marinera & Primavera above there are 5 possibilities around Trujillo.
1. A public demonstration occurs on the Plaza de armas at Festivals & some Sunday mornings.

2. La Asociacion de Criaderos y Propietarios de Caballos Peruanos de Paso de La Libertad

has grounds on the Via de Evitamiento km.565 in Buenos Aires.

Each member may take a plot for a dwelling, stables & horses. 

Since 2006 they have been giving a daily show between 1.30 & 3.30pm on weekdays &

11am & 2pm on weekends & public holidays. Entrance PES/10.

They will give a demonstration & possibly permit riding & more commercial activity will

develop in due course. The Spring competition was there from 8am on 2nd & 3rd October 2004.

You can visit the grounds & stables of the Asociación de Criaderos de Caballos de Paso

Peruano on the Via de Evitamiento km 565 just north of its junction with Avenida Larco,

4km from Trujillo's Plaza de Armas. Prior arrangements need to be made to visit other stables.

3. El Palmar stables near El Golf (4km from Plaza to the Via de Evitamiento, then 2km south

of its junction with Avenida Larco) offers visits/rides for US$12pp, by prior arrangement

through their office on Pizarro 4?? (Plaza de Armas).

4. Caballos de paso can sometimes be seen training outside these stables, & those of the

Manucci family, just south of the Huaca del Sol. For formal visits prices have varied from

US$30 per person for a demonstration with lunch, to cruise ship groups which have visited

the Huacas de Moche Project, & had lunch & demonstrations of the Marinera folk dance &

Caballos de paso for US$125 per person. Also with a visit to Chan Chan for US$145 per person.

5. The stables of Ánibal Vásquez Nacarino in Paiján, 50km north of Trujillo receive groups for US$80.
