  • Grace

The road winds on and on

    My burdens drag me down

I seem alone in a vast and empty sea

    I struggle, and I drown.

    My life before me crumbles

My sins, like carrion, laid bare

My GOD! Your truth destroys my heart

    Revealing what was hidden there.

    But then my vision changes

The dawn is God's will revealed

He's actually been tearing off my chains

And wounds, by grace, are healed

The love of God, what greater bliss

That saved my soul from shame

It changed my heart and gives me grace

And so I praise Your Name.

Released from my bondage and slavery

Free from my sins and my cares

Gone are the walls that surround me

A FOOL I would be to despair.

At last my heart is free

Now, Joy can fill my life

Now I can enjoy true fellowship

    Where once dwelt only strife....

  • Death.....

The grave is dug, deep with battr'd hoes

Friends and family gathered, sharing one another's woes

Why weepest thou, friend? Death is least among our foes!

From from these shadow lands to Paradise we go....

    Here on Earth are sorrows

    Wars, famines, and pain

Gone now are "later" and "tomorrow"

Useless your gold and your fame

Yet comfort the weeping and dry the tears

Stay the course and hush thy fears

We shall again see our beloved dears

They are in Heaven; be of good cheer.

Oh, Grave, where is thy victory?

and where, Oh Death, they sting?

My soul, in Christ cannot worry

In Death's tolls, I hear angels sing......

  • A Call to All Boys

     Where are the men?

Men to press forward into the fight

Men who will hold back the night

Men who will guide others to the Light

    Boy, are you that man?

    Where are the men?

Men who are quick though the battle is long

Men who shun what they know to be wrong

Men who, despite all, will stand and be strong

    Boy, are you that man?

    Where are the men?

Men who at dragons, laugh and draw sword

Men who fear not to stand for their Lord

Men whom the Trinity is their strong-three-fold cord

    BOY, are YOU that man?

    Where are the men?

Men who conquer though hosts may attack

Men with strong brothers to stand at their back

Men who supply what others may lack

Boy, will you be that man?

  • I can do all things through Christ...

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me..."

In my opinion, this is one of the most often misquoted verse in the Bible. Many use it as a T-shirt slogan or something cool to put on a keychain. Nothing's really WRONG with that, but what's RIGHT about it!? There is so much more to the verse! It is not a liscense to do what you what (be a superstar, win the lottery, etc.). It is empowerment (is that a word?) to do the IMPOSSIBLE!!! and not just the easy impossible, like climb Mt. Everest or something, it's the Impossible impossible. It's the strength to "love your enemies, feed the hungry, turn the other cheek, etc". It is God telling us that it is nothing to let someone talk bad about us and say nothing back because it is not us who "ask Christ for strength". It is Christ who STRENGTHENS (present/future tense) us. Christ was spat upon, whipped, falsely accused, beaten, and crucified. Do you think that if it is He who strengthens you, you can take some flak from the world? Or can you stand on the street corner, surrounded by terrorist, drunks, aetheists, brothels, and the scum of the earth and preach Christ crucified? YES!!!!! Because, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". Can I get up after being beaten in the streets, spat upon and threatened, and serve my God? YES!!! Because, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!!!" Perhaps the hardest of all...can I deal with the hidden sins inside of me and surrender my hopes and dreams to God, trusting Him to rule my life and take me where He wills? Again, YYYYYEEEESSSS!!! Why? Because "I can do ALL THINGS through CHRIST who strengthens me!"

    Gloria in excelcis Deo.

  • The Story of "Xmas"

Did you guys know that "Xmas" is actually very Christian in origin?

Many people just think it's Walmart or JCPenny's attempt to take Christ out of the holidays. Many people will get very angry in fact if you say "merry xmas!" (to which I just say that they need some more "istmasChray iritspay") But really, Xmas was begun, NOT by a multi million aetheist corporation, but by the early church!

Back in the first century A.D, it was a killing offense to be a Christian (I know all you homeschoolers are falling asleep right now, but just bear with me...) You could be killed for even mentioning the name  of Christ. So, when the early church wanted to write Jesus' name, they would write an "X" Why? First of all, it lent an element of mystery to the whole thing. Also the Greek letter X looks like a modern "I" in the middle of a modern "X". (try and picture it in your mind). So it could also be code for Iesus Xios. (Jesus Christ, for the slower among you). So you take the I, and combine it with the X,  (Jesus' initials) and you get the greek letter....X! So whenever they wanted to celebrate the CHRIST Mass, they would cleverly use their "underground Church code" and invite the members of the church to an "Xmas" celebration!

So the next time you see "Xmas", you don't have to get red in the face or start getting paranoid about Christianity being taken out of our culture. Just start telling people the "Story of Xmas"!

Merry XMAS to all and to all a good night!

P.S. "Happy Holidays!" has no redemptive qualities (or at least none that I have found).
