We put the Bergs' onesies in their stockings. Since they do Christmas on Christmas Eve, it's a German thing, they got their's first. You can see in the picture above that Mr. Berg is about to open his. The following are of him realizing what it was and then Mrs. Berg finding hers. He said so does this mean I am? Referring to being an Opa which is what his shirt said. BTW Lukas made the shirts, I thought they were so cute!

In the next pictures you will see my mom opening hers. We did it a little differently because I didn't want to wait until Christmas morning. We open a Christmas present every Christmas Eve and it is always pajamas. Her onesie was wrapped in her pajamas. I thought she wasn't going to see it...and she didn't for a minute but then she found it! I love the look on her face in the last picture. There is a long story behind the name on the shirt...and she will probably not be called that but she doesn't know what she wants to be called...so we improvised! Oh, yeah, and that is me next to her holding the stripped green pajamas. That is why she is making that funny face in that direction. Anyway, enjoy...

  • What's news? BABY is news!

So Lukas likes to say he is one shot one kill and indeed he is.
We decided in Novemeber that there was no greater time to try and get pregnant. I graduate in May, Lukas gets promoted to Captain in June, and he will deploy sometime between this December and next March. Having the baby around will give me something to focus on and take care of while he is gone and he won't have to miss any of the pregnancy or the birth! The way things kind of work in the army is that you have topick what you miss...we decided that it was important that Lukas be around for my first pregnancy and he will also be here for the baby's first few months.
I was sick about the time I could take a pregnancy test and so I was really unsure as to whether or not I was pregnant. I was sure I could be but my symptoms were masked by a yucky cold. So about three days before I missed I took and test and I was shocked to see two pink lines! In fact, I took the test pretty sure it wouldn't be positive. Lukas got up in the morning to take Tally outside and I went to the bathroom...I guess I was having to pee alot! When I saw the results I went running down the hall...lol! I couldn't find him until I heard...what is going on!? I turned around and he had gone in the other bathroom. I went running and jumped up and said "We are gonna have a baby!!" He said "HAHA Are you serious?" I cried and then we settled into the idea a bit. It was really exciting. We were leaving for home the next day and we decided to tell our families with homemade onesies. It was really so much fun!
I am now 9 weeks pregnant and actually feeling a bit better. I have had nausia but no puking since 5 weeks! I am actually on the upside of down. It has been frustrating trying to know what to eat and what not to eat...if my bath is too hot and if that cramp was the ok kind. We have only had one scare and it was only brown blood. They checked my hormones and things seem to be fine. On Feb. 21 we get to hear the heartbeat which seems a bit late but it is an army thing. I could choose to go off post but I have lots of friends who did the army Dr. thing with no problem. I like my midwife alot and I am really excited about hearing my little grape's heart beat in a few weeks! I will post more often if I can...school is picking up and I am doing 18 hrs again. It is hefty, but worth it to graduate in MAY!!
Oh...They tell me my due date is September 1st (LABOR DAY) HAHAHHA! I think it actually a couple days earlier but I am sure my baby won't come on time or early so it is hardly worth the mention!
Anyway, I leave you with pictures...

  • Took longer than I thought...

OK, so I didn't update as soon as I thought I would.  Things are going well around here...Tally is finally sleeping through the night and we are getting closer on the housebreaking thing.  She rings the bell almost every time she needs to go out.  She still has accidents, but hey, who doesn't?  lol!  Unfortunately, I am gone for about five hours on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday so I have to expect her to go during that time.  She used to use those puppy pads...until she realized that they were more fun to chew on than to pee on ;( !

I love the new house and we are going to start doing things to it a little at a time.  I have paint colors picked out and I can't wait to paint!  I think this month we are going to plant a flower garden and work on the yard.  It is a lot of fun being a home owner!  I will put up a couple of pictures but they are older and things have changed a bit already.

Over my spring break I went to visit my dad, my sisters, and my friend Alyssa who just lost her mother.  It was weird being back after 6 years but I enjoyed the time with them.  Hopefully, the girls will get to come down for a week during the summer and Alyssa may try to come at some point too!  I may put up a couple of those pictures too.  School is going well and I am getting ready to sign up for summer classes.  I really like all but one of my classes and I can't wait to graduate!  I am really thinking hard about grad school...thoughts?

Lukas still loves his job.  His half-marathon team is still training up and he is fund raising for team t-shirts now.  He is pretty sure that they are going to progress him here in the next couple of weeks and before we know it he will be doing maintenance test flights.  Been a while since he has flown so I know he is excited.  We also finally have a deployment date although those things always change.  Right now we are looking at August 2008.  I also just became a point of contact for his company's FRG group so getting involved a bit should be fun.  We will see!

    So, I leave you with some pictures...  IMG_4798 IMG_4790 P3070001 P3100038 P3100048cropped

  • 1 YEAR!!!

This past Sunday was our 1 year anniversary.  You know it is kind of funny...I can't believe it has already been a year.  I feel like our wedding was just last week but then again I almost can't remember not being married.  It has been a wonderful year and I look back on it with such thanksgiving.  The transition into marriage has been smooth for us which I know is not the case for many newlyweds and I praise God for that.  We have however had our share of trials this past year and I know we will face many more in the years to come.  The greatest blessing in facing the lifetime ahead is knowing that I will face it with first my Lord and secondly my amazing husband.  I cannot thank God enough for how kind He was to give me such a sweet and generous husband.  Yes, bare with me while I brag on him...he is so patient with my faults and has helped me to grow so much.  I've never met a more servant hearted person in my life...I just love him so much and thank God that He gave me a husband I am so underserving of. :)

In other news...We will, Lord Willing, close on our house this coming Monday.  The following weekend we will move in and two weeks later we will pick up our sweet little boxer puppy.  Taking name suggestions btw...This will be our third move in our year of marriage!  I love it though...I'm more convinced every day of how God prepared me for army life.  I love moving...not packing so much though...probably ought to start packing, eh?  Please continue to pray for the whole process.  School is going great and I have done well on the few projects I have had to do so far.  I love the smaller classes and my teachers have been great.

I am going to put up a picture collage thing of the trip we took this weekend.  It is faster than uploading them all on here.  We went to Bardstown, KY and stayed two nights in a 170 year old house turned bed and breakfast.  We visited the burbon heritage center, the town is like burbon capital of the world, and a jail turned bed and breakfast.  The newspaper said that bed and breakfast was a great place to take your new ball and chain...lol!  It was neat but I'm glad we didn't stay there.  The food where we stayed was great too and the atmosphere was beyond compare.  They also had a tobacco barn on the property that they turned into an awesome low key bar with four stories of couches and tables.  It snowed all day Saturday giving the whole thing just the right cozy effect.  We had a great time!

  • Keep it in your prayers!
  • Home Sweet Home!

    IMG_4463

Our offer on this house was accepted today and the contracts are signed!

Lord Willing all of the inspections will go fine and the loan will come through.  If it all works out we will close February 26th!!!

  • A New Look for New News...

So I've finally gone back to school...and the transition has been easier than I had imagined it would be.  It is strange sitting in a class room again.  But I am so glad to be busy and studying what I love.  Sitting at home all day alone until Lukas got home was getting old.  I am majoring in English and minoring in Political Science and all my classes this semester fall into one of those two subjects.  I have one class on Tuesdays and Thursdays and four on MWF.  I get home in plenty of time to do school work and keep up with the house.  The best part is that I am home when Lukas gets home everyday just as if I had been here all day.  I like being here when he gets here.  The school I go to is called Austin Peay State University...PEAY??!!!  Yeah, he was a TN governor...so I prefer to call the school APSU.  Thus far I like my classes and I am really enjoying smaller class sizes.  I should be able to graduate in May 2008!  Not half bad since I took over a year off....I am trying to graduate before Lukas goes to Iraq.  I really want him to see me walk!  Anyway there is actually one more tidbit of news but I want to save it until I'm a little more sure of it which will be at about 4....and no....I'm not pregnant...so no rumors!  :)  Anyway, till later!  Toodles!

BTW...red, white, and black are APSU colors too...I'm supporting both my schools!

  • Spinal tap...oh joy!

Please pray for me today as I am going in for a spinal tap at 2.  I am a little nervous and would greatly appreciate prayers!  Thanks!  Hope everyone has a great day!  I'll update and let you know how it went this evening!
