| For those of you that don't know, I have a 13 month old sister that I love veryvery much. She was born December of 03. She is the most beautiful girl in the worl and has piercing blue eyes that see through the entire galaxy.
I've never had any problems with her.
Probably because I don't change her diaper or deal with those types of things. Sometimes I feed her but her mother (my step mother, she's my half sister) likes to feed her and rarely lets others do so if she's in the situation where she can feed her.
Well anywho. I had a shitty 5 hour night at work tonight, and when I got home I immidiately stripped and jumped in the shower.
When I got out, jojo (I call her that when no ones around. Its my name for her) was crying. She was sick and I could hear her coughing. I ran to her room and when she saw me she stopped crying and I picked her up. She clutched on to my shoulder real tight and then sort of went limp. I could hear her breathing real heavy when she wasn't coughing and I felt bad cause she sounded just like me when I get my very common sinus infections. I never really had to put her to sleep before, but I did my best in simulating what I've seen connie and my dad do so many times. I rocked her standing up for about 5 minutes, hoping shed go down that wa. But that didn't help much. So I walked over to the living room to the rocking chair and sat there rocking her for a while...probably 15 minutes in damn near pitch black darkness. It was some work, man! I almost fell asleep with her!
Anywho, eventually I got her laying down in her crib... But she kept coughing so I stayed there watching over her and talking to her for almost 20 minutes, I think...I'm pretty sure she was listening! I told her she needed her sleep and to please not wake up and that I was sorry she was sick. She kept tossing and turning and coughing... So I stayed and held her tiny little hand until finally she fell asleep... I stayed there even longer after, crying. Crying? Yes. Crying. I felt a huge wave of joy and burst into tears like a little girl. Say what you want. It was amazing.
I've never spent that much time alone with her...let alone shared moments as intimate and touching as that with her. I thought I knew what love was, but now I know what I thought was love is nothing compared to my feelings for my only sibling.
I used to say that I couldn't wait for her to grow up so we could do regular things like hang out and go places, despite the 14ish year age difference... But now I want her to stay a baby forever so I can take care of her just like I did an hour ago... | | |
