| Hi Everyone!
Well the last day of school was officially yesterday and now we just have exams to write which is a complete joke! So basically this year I really only have to write one exam (a math departmental) tomorrow and then Media on Wednesday which really isnt an exam at all because the teacher said he didnt want to mark any papers so instead basically everyone brings some sort of food product and has to find two ads on that product and make one ad for it and then we all just sit there and eat, so...its basically nothing and I am loving it! And also Fair Days are this weekend! Which should be some hilarious fun, it always is (especially the DemoDerby!). And then I am done until next year! So I hope y'all do well on any exams you may be writing and have a great rest of the week!

| Hey Everyone!
Wow I am getting really bad at all this updating and junk but I just dont have the time anymore! Not to mention there is not a lot going on lately in good old Hepburn. Basically my life right now consists of homework, homework and oh..did I mention homework! Ahhh its driving me crazy! But exams are soon and then it will all be over and I can get on to my summer and a whole lot of fun! So thats basically it right now so I will talk to ya'all later and have a great weekend!

| Alrighty so tonight was really fun. First of all went out to a movie with a bunch of girls (always a fun time!). We went to see She's the Man which, as lame as it looked, actually was really funny and had me laughing out loud in the theater (something I never do or even have done). So that was pretty fun and then we discovered after the movie that it was pouring outside so we all ran screaming to the car and then headed over to Timmy Ho's for some ice caps. It was a pretty awesome night not to mention the sweet lightning show on the way home! So that was basically a great night! Other than that nothing really thrilling is going on in Hepburn... so until something does happen...I will catch y'all later.

| Well seeing as how it has been a month and a bit I thought it best if I let y'all know I was still alive! I still have tons more stories from Nicaragua (which seems FOREVER ago!) but to be honest I dont really feel like typing them all out because it would takes hours if not days to get every detail in!
Life in good ol' Hepburn right now is pretty busy and between tons of math homework and random firesides and baseball games, not much is going on! Exams will be in the next month or so and then Grad. The best part is that school is going to be over in little over a month! But that is basically all thats happening right now...nothing too exciting and so instead of putting y'all more to sleep I will just say goodbye for now! Have a great week and be happy! Peace, Amanda | | |
| Well where do I begin! I got home from Nicaragua 10 days ago and it was the best time of my life! I literally loved every minute, no, second of it! It was just such an awesome experience! I really really want to go back! And I miss everyone (well maybe not everyone) but a lot of my team members. I definetly made some dang sweet friends.
Anyways to start at the beginning we left Saskatoon at 7:30 and headed over to Calgary. Then hung out in Calgary for a bit, played a little Dutch Blitz, then headed off to LA. Wow do I love LA and well California in general! I have made it a goal for my life to live in California sometime, I love it so much! So we had a day layover in LA so we stayed at a hotel somewhere and lounged around the pool eating and just chillin. It was a really nice way to start a trip because it was really good to just bond and chill together as a team. Also you stinkin US ppl have way cooler stuff then we do in Canada! Like I have never seen so many types of pop in my life! It was crazy!
The next day we left early early early and headed back to LAX for our flight to Houston. Then we hung around Houston for a while. Basically hanging out in all those airports would have been extremely boring had it not been for my wonderful team! I had so so much fun all the time! Then finally we left for Managua and got there sometime in the late evening. The best feeling I have ever felt was getting off the airplane at Managua! The second you were off the plane this muggy hot heat just surrounded you and it smelt like Nicaragua. I can't really explain it because a lot of people dont really like that muggy feeling but to me it meant I had finally arrived and I loved it and I never want to forget any part of that first impression of Nicaragua. Then we had to go through customs (yet again!) and then go get our luggage. Funny story... while waiting for our luggage I saw this worker guy outside the window of the baggage claim and he was waving me over to the window. I didnt know what he wanted so me being the silly little girl I am, I went over to the window to see what it was he wanted. Then I realized once he started blowing kisses and such at me that he just wanted to get our attention because we were little white girls. Sigh! I felt so stupid and then for the rest of the time while we got our luggage he was knocking on the window and waving, I definetly turned many shades of red I am sure. So that was one of my first encounters with Nicaraguan men and most definetly not the last! After we got our luggage together we went out to our van and headed off to the Provadenic (which is where we were staying, right in Managua, the capital city. It is a type of missionary housing so that was really cool). The van rides I have to say are the best times of my life! We're all in this large van and the windows are wide open and we're driving all around the city and there are people everywhere and it was just the best! You really have to experience it because I know it sounds like just a van ride but honestly it was so so much more than that... it was an experience! Then basically we got to the Provadenic had some amazing fresh fruit! had a team meeting and then went to bed. So that was the trip there and my first few hours in Nicaragua.
I still have tons of stories but I think that is about all I can type about for now! so I will update more stories later and hopefully I will be able to put up lots and lots of pictures! Also if you want to see some pictures and read a little bit more about the trip go to www.yfcsask.com . So I will talk to ya'all more later! And leave me some comments I would love to hear from anyone!
