| An UpdateThanks for stopping by. I've received a number of emails asking why I took the site down. Frankly, the cost of maintaining a membership wasen't terribly expensive, but developments on the web editing tools just made it hard to keep adding stuff so I had to move the site and the work over to another place where it's easier to use. No complaints about xanga, I just like a very simple site so the photographs can speak for themselves. if you'd like to visit just pop over to http://large-format.blogspot.com/ and see how things are going. I'll be adding some new things, reposting some of the old ones and I promise t get out from behind the computer more often and do a bit more shooting.
By the way, I did pick up that new 4x5 field camera that I had been saving for. It's a Shen-Ho, made in China out of teak and brass, and I think I can honestly say that this is the finest large format camera that I've owned since my old Deardorff. Of course, the Deardorff brothers are long since dead and there is another company that is using the name to produce their own large format camera's, but you know, somethings just are never quite the same!
