99 and never told a lie??

I got the opportunity to witness to a woman recently who is almost 99. She came to the Memorial Day Ceremony that we did the sound system for in town. At her age, she claims never to have told a lie, to never have broken any of the 10 commandments. How sad. She has a Catholic background and thought it was fantastic (she said) that I was thinking about what I was talking about, "because the world is SO bad." But though I asked her to honestly search her heart, she still said she had never broken a commandment.

As I left, she joked that maybe she had lied to me when she said she hadn't ever lied, but then said "I'm just kidding!" She said she had "taken" apples that weren't hers but laughed at my statement that taking apples from a neighbor without permission would be stealing them. She said she was always the mischief maker in her house. It was a very interesting conversation, you don't get to speak with an almost centegenarian (did I spell that right?) every day. She's very spry, doesn't look 98. How sad though, to have come to that point in your life and still deny Christ. I pray that her heart would soften.

Since this is kind of my offbeat website and not many people know about it, I feel like I can post anything :D Of course, nothing scandalous or anything, and I know that anyone CAN see it. But the general population that visits my blog doesn't visit here. And I can check out people's reactions to things and see if I want to post them at my blog
So consider yourself a guinea pig.

Some people know I've been working out. Yes that's right, pumping the iron. I've got two 10 lb dumbbells and some weights for a barbell. Other than that I do bodyweight exercises like pull ups and pushups. So far I can only do 3 full pullups, from straight armed down to chin over the bar (rafter! lol) and no kipping, like in this video. It kind of hurts my hands to hold on to the rafter, but it's ok. It increases grip strength I'm sure.

This girl can really do pull ups! I suppose kipping isn't cheating, but to me it's not a real, full pull up. Each to his own.

Ok so I took some flexing pictures to see how my progress is going. The lighting is extremely deceptive, it makes me look more ripped than I am! (Which is reality is very little).

So these are the nutty things I do...besides eating a lot of salad and nuts and chicken and cottage cheese and NOT eating hardly any sugar or white flour. It's been interesting. It'll be much harder to eat healthily on the road, I think, but I'm not worried about it. I'm doing what I can with the resources I have and God will supply what I need :)

My boss gave me a flower bulb for my birthday and it's flowered! I've since cut off the one flowering stalk and will cut off the second today. It's budding a new stalk already!

And look what happens when you bake miniatures at too high a temperature!!!!!!!!!!

And here's a little emoticon I edited for a forum I visit - they added it to the list of working emoticons to chose from when you're posting!

And to boot, I just became a moderator there. Pretty cool, eh? Xanga doesn't seem to want to let me make a link, but here is the link to the forum http://p083.ezboard.com/bthebluegrassforum

Ok, and I originally titled this Fatty Me. Then I thought about not posting the picture I was going to, and then I changed the title, now I haven't change it :p

Wowzers.

I just went and looked at my subscriber list. I ought to update!

They probably are only subscribed because I don't update very often and they aren't bothered by the emails saying I've updated

I hope Carol doesn't mind me posting this, she took a little photo shoot of me earlier today.

And here is a pizza I made. Carol happened to be taking a shoot and I asked her to take this.
